New AQ Ltd $1300
Noah (FL) replied to The_Stalker's topic in First Texas - Bounty Hunter, Fisher & Teknetics
First Texas regularly has new products listed on eBay. The other month I bought a $500 retail night vision monocular for $175. They had some of the less expensive Teknetics detectors listed too. -
@Kaolin washer @Rick N. MI I keep thinking about giving the ORX a try. I’ve swung a friend’s Deus and love the light weight but have no desire to get into the massive menu of options the Deus offers. The simplicity of the ORX is really appealing For general detecting (not gold prospecting) what coil would you recommend? The HF or X35?

I would imagine their next step will be a SMF update to the AT series??? They eased in to the SMF market with a lower tier machine and if they can refine their SMF tech, cross it with the form factor of the Axiom and make it as reliably waterproof as the AT housings were they would hit another homerun.

Give Me The Multi Kruzer Anytime
Noah (FL) replied to George Kinsey's topic in Nokta / Makro Metal Detectors
The MoltiKruzer is one machine I kinda wish I held onto. It had great separation in 3tone, would punch deep in 4tone or vco and it was built like a tank and could double as a baseball bat and not need repaired after a homerun😂😂😂 -
A Heck Of A Patriotic Deal
Noah (FL) replied to JohnnyRox's topic in First Texas - Bounty Hunter, Fisher & Teknetics
I still prefer a Tesoro when sifting through foil littered parks, sports fields and totlots for jewelry. Nothing like that analog audio!! -

Still love the Compadre and Mojave. Super simple machines that work great for itty bitty gold jewelry in playground areas and sniffing out coins and relics in heavy iron. I also have a Compadre that I mounted in a waterproof case that is my freshwater swimming hole gold getter!! I’d love to try a Golden uMax if I ever find one to buy. -

Minelab Vanquish Successor Predictions
Noah (FL) replied to Detectornado's topic in Minelab Metal Detectors
Since the Vanquish line seems to be aimed at the big box/ sporting goods retail market I would imagine it will be around for a good while. If you look at the shelves where they are sold there is usually a model or two that are sold out. If you consider that 20+ year old Bounty Hunter models still sell by the pallet load at Costco then I’m sure the Vanquish is doing just fine sales wise with the beginner/recreational market. I have a 340that lives in my van for scouting new spots I stumble across and it always seems to do the job and find some goodies. It lacks all the bells and whistles of “professional” models but still packs quite a punch -
Tesoro 4” Concentric Coil On Mojave??
Noah (FL) replied to NCtoad's topic in Compass, D-Tex, Tesoro, Etc.
Where did you see them for sale? I had an older one that got smashed unfortunately. Loved it with the Mojave for getting close tothe metal posts in playgrounds and super trashy shallow spots. -
Passing Of Digger1955
Noah (FL) replied to Jeff McClendon's topic in First Texas - Bounty Hunter, Fisher & Teknetics
RIP Dave. Had some good exchanges with him on the Friendly forum when I was first starting out. -
There’s gold jewelry hiding in all those bits of foil and slaw in our parks. I would wager that the majority of lost gold jewelry is broken chains, charms and earrings that will ID as foil compared to bigger rings in the nickel to tab range. Just have to spend the time digging all the crappy foil and slaw signals til ya find some. I’m not saying it’s guaranteed to be worth your time but ya never know what might pop up!!

Ever Regretted Selling A Detector?
Noah (FL) replied to The Georgiadigger's topic in Metal Detector Advice & Comparisons
I just enjoy trying out different machines every now and then. After the F19 is gone I’ll be down to a few Tesoros, a NOX and a Vanquish340 I found onsale a few weeks ago for $169, pretty amazing machine for that price point!! Only machine I possibly regret selling was my Explorer II. I miss the power not the weight, LOL! That machine found some deeeep coins. The NOX comes close but hopefully those FBS machines will be the next model for Minelab to replace. -
How close were the machines while checking the targets? Were they noise canceled near each other? Different noise cancel selections? So many random RF variables come in to play when these machines are within 10 feet of each other it’s hard to pin it down really.

Best Aftermarket Coil
Noah (FL) replied to Bavarian's topic in First Texas - Bounty Hunter, Fisher & Teknetics
I don’t know if it’s the “best” coil but I love the stock 5x10DD that came with my F19. I use it predominantly for jewelry (a.k.a. foil) hunting at some local schools and sports fields. -
Vintage Metal Detector Treasure Hunt
Noah (FL) replied to Sven1's topic in Compass, D-Tex, Tesoro, Etc.
I’m in!! I’ll use the $20 Compass flea market find and hunt jewelry at a large school/sports field I have access to. -
Equinox Price Increase ????????
Noah (FL) replied to Jeff McClendon's topic in Minelab Equinox Forum
When everything at the grocery store has gone up in price it stands to reason that our toys will too. Our government has printed so much money this year with the stimulus bills that we haven’t even seen the real start of the inflation that is coming. A $50 increase for a MD that was massively undervalued when it was released is just the tip of the iceberg. If you stop and take it all in it’s just depressing, so my advice is to turn off the TV and go hunt for treasure!!! Treasure always makes us smile😊😊😊 -
When I first got my 600 I ran the FE at 0 after experimenting with it. Since the F2 option came out I’ve switched to running F2 of 0 and haven’t switched since. 50 tones and low recovery speed really gives an intelligible sound to commingled targets, once you get used to it anyway.
