If they do come out with another model we probably won’t hear about it until its available for purchase. They generally don’t do the pre release hype. Im glad that I learned on a Tesoro though. Beep and dig machines definitely help get your ears tuned into whats going on. Makes the step up to an ID and multi tone machine much easier.

If you find yourself bumping and moving it accidentally while hunting, take the knob off and put an o-ring on that fits the shaft snugly then reinstall the knob snug against the o-ring. Adds enough resistance to keep it from being easily misadjusted. I'm a klutz and was always bumping it on my Outlaw.

As far as the sensitivity and GB mods, a little google searching and combing through forum threads and you'll find enough info to get it done. As for the double beep next to playground/fence posts. All metal / minimum disc works the best. Just take a dime and a small piece of jewelry with you to the park or metal fence post at home and test it out. It is all about the sweep speed.

Well done sir! The other great part of the compadre is that it is the perfect specimen for tinkering. Just recently received all the parts to add gb and sensitivity controls to the face plate of mine. It already has a three way disc toggle that functions like the coin check on the Troy detectors. Also have another that i water proofed. Its a fresh water jewelry magnet!

When switching between frequencies is it necessary to GB again or does the previous GB work for all 3 frequencies?

Very well put sir. I dont have the high mineral to contend with in Florida. I am definitely impressed with its ability on tiny jewelry items though. I’ve found two sub 1/2 gram childs gold rings with it so far and a handful of gold stud earrings. Both of the rings were 5-6” depth. The audio is also very good for the money. Mixed metal tabs and canslaw have a very mushy sound compared to rings and coins. Doesnt hold a candle to my explorer2 on coins but on the tiny jewelry items its a beast.

Thats a bummer. I thought they touted the Mojave as being made to deal with high mineral areas?

Still alot to be said for simple functionality and quality audio nuances. Tesoros rarely disappoint

This idea probably just sold me on one of these! Headphones are annoying in the water.

Our dirt in Florida isn't anywhere near that mineralized, but my Mojave will hit the 8" coins in my test garden with the sensitivity set to max. Their service is second to none though. So if something is wrong with the detector or coil they will definitely get it fixed. Hope it performs well in your soil when returned . Noah
