I wasn’t trying to highjack the thread😂😂 just saw his post when I was gonna post about my stroke of luck😬😬 It will probably get used in turn for relics and jewelry hunting, hopefully some gold prospecting if I ever get the chance?? It’ll definitely be living in my van so I always have a machine handy when needed!! Street and old building tear outs can be a limited opportunity, and I’ve missed opportunities due to not having a detector with me.

That’s excellent Steve!! Hope you get along with it. I actually ended up getting an F19 today too. A few weeks ago I was talking with my neighbor and his brother. Long story short metal detecting came up, and his brother said he had one that was given to him by coworkers when he retired to Florida. He didn’t know what brand it was and never even opened the box. I had forgotten about it until my neighbor stopped over this morning and handed me this box.......brand new F19 and he wouldn’t even take a penny for it!!! A little silver lining to these cloudy days!! Hopefully they find us lots of treasure!!!

Gold Tops U.S. $1600 For First Time In 7 Years
Noah (FL) replied to Steve Herschbach's topic in Detector Prospector Forum
Let’s just hope that when/if it hits $2000 that a can of beans or roll of TP isn’t $10. That being said.....,if it does hit $2K I’ve got a few ounces of gold jewelry that are going straight to the gold buyers regardless of how much beans and TP cost🏴☠️🏴☠️ -
I’ve always been interested in this platform, someday I’ll find one for the right price and jump on it. With the talk of the new BountyHunter offering I was poking around reading posts and watching videos regarding these machines and stumbled across an odd one. According to the First Texas coil chart this coil isn’t supposed to work with this platform, yet here is Bill from DirtFishing using the little 6” concentric elliptical for the F70/75 on the F19???? Anyone else have any experience with this?? He doesn’t show any steel bottle cap responses unfortunately but this could add to these machines ability for foil/jewelry hunting in those bottle cap ridden park/picnic areas

Equinox 600 Vs 800 For Jewelry
Noah (FL) replied to LukeJMG1986's topic in Metal Detector Advice & Comparisons
Look through the Equinox section of the forum. There is a section at the top that has all you are looking for. SteveH has an article expounding upon the differences and similarities of the 600 and 800. -
Has anyone ever heard of these and if so were/are they any good?? I’m guessing it was a flash in the pan otherwise a good functioning low priced PI would still be around. https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F143557955352

Same here Steve. Curious to see if it will be sold as an accessory only or available as a complete unit??

I saw this posted on an instagram account. Dwight has done promo stuff for NokMak so it shouldn’t be a hoax. Sent him a message as to a time frame and I will report back if he has any info unless Dilek has some info coming too. I had thought about getting one of the Pulse Dives for super hot summer snorkeling before but the option of a larger coil definitely adds to the appeal.

Well Done Review Of Simplex+
Noah (FL) replied to Steve Herschbach's topic in Nokta / Makro Metal Detectors
That may be the reason. On one of the Kruzer updates they added a control/button lock feature because if you go deep enough the buttons could activate due to increased pressure of the water -
That’s pretty crappy. Seems that they could easily tell you if a different firmware was available that supports the LL. Unfortunately many of these “name brand” headphones these days are manufactured by a separate company and they just add their name/branding to the product. That’s probably what is going on with these.

Tesoro Factory For Sale
Noah (FL) replied to Steve Herschbach's topic in Compass, D-Tex, Tesoro, Etc.
You should be able to get neoprene washers at Ace that would work. They would be in the little hardware trays somewhere. As far as the plastic coil bolt and wingnut you can use most any other brand. You may need to enlarge the hole in the rod and coil or maybe wrap the bolt with a little tape if it is smaller. -
I’ve been using my Sennheiser CX6.00 for a year or more now and they are great. Battery is good for around 5+hours and they are the low latency version(+ sign). Not sure on their waterproof rating but I’ve got them as sweaty as ever and haven’t had any moisture problems. I believe they are close to $100 retail but can usually be found for less at the usual online sales spots(amazon, ebay, etc...)

I picked up an AmigoII late last year and after having Compadres and a Mojave I really feel like the Amigo may give a better report on tiny gold targets. Tested it with a few broken bits of chain, clasps and small earrings and it seems to have a little tighter sound in relation to size and a bit more depth on the tiny stuff. Seemed to get a couple of the targets around 2+inches that Compadre and Mojave would only get at the 1-1/2 to 1-3/4 range??? However the depth on coin size targets doesn’t seem as good as the two newer machines, not that deep coins are their primary use just interesting to see how similar detector circuits change as circuit revisions occur. I’ll try to post some pics of the Amigo. It’s mounted on a Tesoro s rod just below the upper section. Makes it easy to pop the “handle” off and use it for crawling under playground equipment and getting all the little kiddies gold!!!!! and foil trash too😂😂

Excellent find!! That’s a bargain at twice that price.

A discriminating/2-tone version of the Carrot would pique my interests!!

Questioning The Discrimination On The Tejon
Noah (FL) replied to Don in SoCal's topic in Compass, D-Tex, Tesoro, Etc.
The Tejon has two disc circuits. Do they both have the same results on the test target? If they both react the same then they are probably not out of adjustment and it’s just the difference in depth between the all metal and discrimination circuits. If the two discriminators give different results on the target then they may need adjusted. Most Tesoros have a small trimmer pot on the pcb to fine tune the discriminators. I haven’t had a Tejon opened up myself but I’m sure a photo of the pcb can be found online with a little google detective work. Also depending on the size of the lead bb/pellet 3” may be pushing it depth wise. Let us know how it goes. -
Seeing those wooden coil housings is super cool!! Thanks for posting Sven

That’s a great idea Steve. Either the obsolete/bygone or analog forum would probably get more action than just Tesoro. Here’s a pic or two, the Compass is a $20 flea market find that I was able to get working again!! No great finds with it but it’s fun to do a lap with every now and then and learn a bit about the technology curve🤠 Also a shot of the one large cent I found with the “lowly”🤔 Compadre!!!
-
With the speculation of a new gold machine maybe they will just give us an SDC in a GoldMonster housing???
-
Seemed like it was aimed at the younger market. I think Phrunt posted this video back when the Vanquish was being “teased” last year if memory serves.

Where Do You Get Damping Grease In Small Qty's?
Noah (FL) replied to kac's topic in Compass, D-Tex, Tesoro, Etc.
Not sure on part number but it’s a 3-3/4 turn Cermet 100K?? I believe. Mouser was out of stock when I last looked. The 10 turn is great for GB as it’s a much finer adjustment but they are a TIGHT fit in those uMax housings. -
Where Do You Get Damping Grease In Small Qty's?
Noah (FL) replied to kac's topic in Compass, D-Tex, Tesoro, Etc.
The blue 3 3/4turn pots that Tesoro used for GB are usually the only option for that size and sometimes can be hard to get a hold of. It might even be possible that Tesoro was the only ones ordering enough to keep them in production??? Last year I tried to find a couple for a Compadre experiment and ended up finding one on eBay.
