Wow, that's a smoking deal! Is that the 5" x 10" on there?

Yeah, it’s the 5x10.  Not really a fan of camo detectors but for the price I won’t complain.

It is definitely a great light weight grab and go machine, After doing some testing and playing around in the test garden yesterday I think this should  be a nice jewelry hunter!!

  2. I’ve always been interested in this platform, someday I’ll find one for the right price and jump on it.  With the talk of the new BountyHunter offering I was poking around reading posts and watching videos regarding these machines and stumbled across an odd one.  According to the First Texas coil chart this coil isn’t supposed to work with this platform, yet here is Bill from DirtFishing using the little 6” concentric elliptical for the F70/75 on the F19????  Anyone else have any experience with this??  He doesn’t show any steel bottle cap responses unfortunately but this could add to these machines ability for foil/jewelry hunting in those bottle cap ridden park/picnic areas

  3. I saw this posted on an instagram account. Dwight has done promo stuff for NokMak so it shouldn’t be a hoax. Sent him a message as to a time frame and I will report back if he has any info unless Dilek has some info coming too.

I had thought about getting one of the Pulse Dives for super hot summer snorkeling before but the option of a larger coil definitely adds to the appeal.

Well, no luck that route 😂

That’s pretty crappy. Seems that they could easily tell you if a different firmware was available that supports the LL.  Unfortunately many of these “name brand” headphones these days are manufactured by a separate company and they just add their name/branding to the product.  That’s probably what is going on with these.

  5. You should be able to get neoprene washers at Ace that would work.  They would be in the little hardware trays somewhere.  As far as the plastic coil bolt and wingnut you can use most any other brand. You may need to enlarge the hole in the rod and coil or maybe wrap the bolt with a little tape if it is smaller.

  6. I’ve been using my Sennheiser CX6.00 for a year or more now and they are great.  Battery is good for around 5+hours and they are the low latency version(+ sign).  Not sure on their waterproof rating but I’ve got them as sweaty as ever and haven’t had any moisture problems. I believe they are close to $100 retail but can usually be found for less at the usual online sales spots(amazon, ebay, etc...)

I also have the Amigo ll. From what I understand it is the same as the early compadre's.

I picked up an AmigoII late last year and after having Compadres and a Mojave I really feel like the Amigo may give a better report on tiny gold targets.  Tested it with a few broken bits of chain, clasps and small earrings and it seems to have a little tighter sound in relation to size and a bit more depth on the tiny stuff. Seemed to get a couple of the targets around 2+inches that Compadre and Mojave would only get at the 1-1/2 to 1-3/4 range???   However the depth on coin size targets doesn’t seem as good as the two newer machines, not that deep coins are their primary use just interesting to see how similar detector circuits change as circuit revisions occur. I’ll try to post some pics of the Amigo. It’s mounted on a Tesoro s rod just below the upper section. Makes it easy to pop the “handle” off and use it for crawling under playground equipment and getting all the little kiddies gold!!!!!  and foil trash too😂😂

  8. The Tejon has two disc circuits.   Do they both have the same results on the test target?   If they both react the same then they are probably not out of adjustment and it’s just the difference in depth between the all metal and discrimination circuits.  If the two discriminators give different results on the target then they may need adjusted. Most Tesoros have a small trimmer pot on the pcb to fine tune the discriminators. I haven’t had a Tejon opened up myself but I’m sure a photo of the pcb can be found online with a little google detective work.   Also depending  on the size of the lead bb/pellet 3” may be pushing it depth wise.  Let us know how it goes.

Other than my minding the store here for historical purposes, the world is moving on. Soon Tesoro will be just like Compass Electronics... a fond memory for us old-timers.

Hmmm, maybe I should change this into an analog detecting forum that celebrates all the old machines regardless of brand. Obviously just being a Tesoro Forum will run out of steam entirely as time goes on.

That’s a great idea Steve.   Either the obsolete/bygone or analog forum would probably get more action than just Tesoro. Here’s a pic or two, the Compass is a $20 flea market find that I was able to get working again!!  No great finds with it but it’s fun to do a lap with every now and then and learn a bit about the technology curve🤠    Also a shot of the one large cent I found with the “lowly”🤔 Compadre!!!

It’s almost enough to make me want to get an SDC and gut the thing out, put it in a real detector box and rod combo, so I can use coils like this the way they were meant to be used. I’d love an SDC configured like a Eureka Gold with a set of coils like this.

With the speculation of a new gold machine maybe they will just give us an SDC in a GoldMonster housing???

Do you remember the part number on the original? I could fish around and ask some suppliers if they have or know where to get those. I have seen 5 and 10 turn pots too but thinking our thumbs would get tired trying to gb them 🙂

Not sure on part number but it’s a 3-3/4 turn Cermet 100K?? I believe.  Mouser was out of stock when I last looked.   The 10 turn is great for GB as it’s a much finer adjustment but they are a TIGHT fit in those uMax housings.
