Curious if anyone has tried one of these variations on the telescopic rod for the EQX?  Says the mount for control pod is from a mold rather the 3-d printed.  There are 2 listings, one in UK and the other from a seller in Georgia.

Those roofing nails with the metal washer can be a pain.  Often times the alloy isn’t really iron so they will high tone all day.  Definitely worth digging some more after finding that dime thou!!!

You actually need to get aptx-ll for the fastest transmission.   There is a good thread in this forum below with lots of different models folks have had success with.  

I use and love the sennheiser cx6.0 bt buds.  They are low latency and sound great.

Glad you were able to get that Mojo BeachHunter!   Best jewelry hunter Tesoro ever made IMO!!!    

Just a shame they never got the marketing right on the realities of detecting and how an old single tone analog detector can still be extremely productive!!

I am sure it’s a hard pill to swallow, having to close up a long standing family business.   Just wish someone would have made an announcement of some form. 

Hopefully all of their employees were able to land on their feet and all of our Tesoros will last as long as we do!!!!

Ive used the 12x10DD and 7”DD on an outlaw and Mojave. They cover ground well but the discrimination isn’t as good.  

Only one I still have is the 3x18 cleansweep that I use on my Mojave for jewelry hunting sports fields.

Hopefully it will help some!! Our beaches aren’t very mineralized but that coil did behave better with the wet salt sand.

In theory it should.  I’ve used with the 7”tesoro DD on Florida beaches and it’s far more stable than the 7” concentric.

That’s a fantastic assortment of WW2 history!

A friend and I have been researching the different training bases that were all over Florida back then in hopes of similar finds.  Unfortunately so much has been built on or paved over and with so much corporate holding of real estate when you find a spot that may still have the goods it’s tough work getting permission. 

I guess if it was easy it wouldn’t be any fun, and often times I enjoy the research just as much as the finds!

Yes all metal/horseshoe.  

The main school area is pretty much played out.  Been getting detected since the 70s.  These are from an early 70s built cafeteria that was just torn down and slab removed.  Probably won’t be back until they tear out the sidewalks that were surrounding this building.  Fortunately I made friends with the superintendent and he said he would keep me posted!!!

Finally had a chance to get back to this site.  Spent a few hours this afternoon. Ran park2 this time, standard settings with iron on and 50tones. Sensitivity was 20 mostly.  I must have done pretty good the first time because the only high conductors this time were 2 wheats and 2 keys.  Did find 7 more nickels though. 1 being a no-date buff and 1 44p silver nickel that IDed at 17-18.  The others are 39-62  

Really starting to get into the audio on this detector!  Was planning to take my MakroMK this time but after a month with the EQX and its pleasantly smooth audio it’s been hard to go back to the more abrasive/sizzly sound of the MK.

They pop up from time to time on eBay and the various treasure classifieds sites. I’ve got 2 but I will probably never sell them.  I always take one when I travel, and with Tesoro probably going away the “spare” is going to live in its box in the closet incase something bad ever happens to my main.  

My friend has an 8” Compadre and we tested his vs mine with the smaller coil and there is very little difference between the two.  8” may be a tad deeper. Small may be a pinch better on tiny bits and separating targets but all in all both are great lil’ beepers.

Coils were hard-wired.  I had one that I added a coil connector and a couple other mods.  Was a fantastic machine with a cleansweep coil!!!  

Ive found gold jewelry with the compadre that disced out anywhere from the n in iron all the way up to top of the zinc cent area. .  Majority is probably from foil to nickel but depending on alloy and size it can be almost anywhere.  Thats the fun right!!!?

EDIT....just saw your other post so it isn’t mine cause that was 4-5 dats ago that mine sold. 

What size coil did you get?  I’ve only ever used the 5-3/4 and the cleansweep.

No matter the machine, the best thing for anybody is just learn that detector and put in those hours. That and research is what gets the gold, not any one “magic machine”

Best bit of detecting advice right there!!!!! 

Thanks to anyone who takes the plunge on new machines and writes reviews and makes video showing the sounds and feature sets.

It was packed sandy clay, fortunately when they tore the slab out it broke most of it up. It would have been part of the school yard from 1915-1970ish when they built this cafeteria on top of them.  Fortunately the building hid them from the couple guys that have told me about all the silver they pulled at this school in the 80s.

No 6” for the EQX but will probably go back with either a Tesoro or my Makro wearing a small coil. However I was extremely impressed with the big coil on the EQX.  It was able to separate some targets that I know would have been problematic with an 8” Tesoro or the stock coil on the MakroMK  

No date on the SLQ but does have an S mintmark. Probably the 1917-24 version.  Buffaloes were 14,26,35,36 and two no dates. 

Just spent a couple days hunting a hopefully not a once in a lifetime site!!!! A 70’s built cafeteria building at an old 1915 school was just torn down and the foundation removed.  A roughly 60’x100’ area that was absolutely loaded with coins. Hands down my most productive opportunity to date!

 Was running the 600 in park1 w 50 tones, iron on and stock recovery and iron bias. Sensitivity started at 20 but with the targets being shallow I backed down to 16-18 and it seemed to behave a little better with the shallow iron and corroded conduit littering the site. 

Hoping to get back Monday or Tuesday to go back over it again as I’m sure there is still some targets hiding.  I have only had the EQX a few weeks, coming from Tesoros, Explorer2 and a MakroMK, I really enjoy the audio, much more pleasant to listen to than the Makro at least.  Seems to handle the iron very well too!  

Grand total was 1slq, 1 Washington, 1rosie, 4mercs, 6buffaloes, 2 war nickels, 1891indian, handful of early jeffersons, 60+ wheats, a copper ring and a tiny silver ring and charm. The majority of the silver was super corroded, I assume from the lime in the concrete, and the two war nickels rang up above normal. Strangely enough the buffalo nickels were the least corroded of all the coins. Fortunately the SLQ was off the edge from where the concrete had been and wasn’t corroded at all! Still reeling from the experience, and still sore too!! LOL. Thanks for looking 

Just dug two the other day that read high.  A 43s that ids a 19 and a 42p that ids 16.  I figured it was due to corrosion as they were under a concrete slab for 30-40 years but they still id high out of the ground. All the wheats ided low there and most of the silver I dug is toasted with corrosion. Strangely enough I dug 6 buffalo nickels that are in the best shape of any coins I dug there???? 

Makes sense to hit the entry-mid range market.  Just look at FirstTexas, I’m sure they sell hundreds of BountyHunters and lower end Teknetics at the big-box stores for every F75 or CZ21 thats sold.

That’s a bummer about the coils.  

Volume is great with the wireless headphones, but I’ve tried the Makro and LSPelso water proof  headphones and with the volume maxed they are both on the quiet side. OK when its calm out but add some wind and chop on the lake and its hard to hear much.  2-tone is the easiest to use with the tone set about midway. Seems to be the loudest option. Both multi tone modes seem much quieter.

In an interview a while back Dilek said that going forward their new machines would use the existing coil connector and be interchangeable.  Assuming that would mean the Simplex would be compatible with Kruzer/Anfib coils. 

Im just curious if the new machine will have a useable volume with their waterproof headphones.   The Kruzer is almost unusable with the w/p headphones unless it’s dead calm. From all reports the Anfib isn’t any better.  Just hoping they use a more powerful op-amp in the future.
