  1. I KNOW>>>My direct connection with hard wired headphones is 100% waterproof!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  2. Can't wait to hear>Please start a new thread on the beach work! Thanks
  3. In the last 20 years, I do not think there has been one stock coil bolt I have used. Always opted for something a little bigger and put a double nut on it. Nothing says keep my coil right there like a double nut!!!
  4. There was more than ONE mode on a Sovereign. The All-Metal Pinpoint Mode on the Sovereign was VERY fast on target response. If there was ever one detector that you could not over swing it was the sovereign in all metal PP mode. The BBS system was very PI like in that mode and there were no issues seeing close targets.
  5. Outstanding Gerry!!! Kind of surprised you can only hunt 15-17 sens with that white sand? How was the EMI? Sure, wish I could water hunt where I am at. So much is in that water!
  6. Maybe you need to work for Minelab? If coil ears are 2.5 inches long and the shear strength of the plastic is 25psi. Compared to coil ears 3.5 inches long with a shear strength of 25psi>>>Which one breaks first?
  7. Did you happen to see the new threaded coils with the 900's. While your original and after market will "work". Do we know if the coils will fit the new rod end of the 900?
  8. Of course, unless your 6'4" and the stock shaft is too short.🀬 That "fixed" pod mount is just another consumer issue for some of us.
  9. "Flexibility" has NO bearing on breaking or not! This is really an equation of plastic compound and engineering forces, one which failed on the Equinox. Fractures occurred along the entire ear where it meets the coil, also through the coil bolt hole not affecting the base of the coil ears.
  10. I don't think the plastic degrades. It is just not the correct plastic and thickness needed. The BEST thing one can do for the old-style equinox coils is to get a QUALITY ear stiffener [like the sunray brand]. Then Epoxy it right to the coil and ears making it one. I am two plus years in doing so on three coils[2=11" and Minelab 15"] without a failure. Even with the extra epoxy addition do not over tighten and keep your rubber washers fresh.
  11. They are long and thin so when they break thru the mounting holes there is room to fab a whole set of new holes!!! Don't worry, the beach guys will let you know soon if this set-up is worthy.
  12. I guess if you're a relic hunter compressed iron range might not be good? However, as a non-ferrous hunter there might be a slight edge to a detector with both compressed ferrous and nonferrous scales.
  13. If you're a BEACH hunter, then this is an EASY CHOICE. One extra piece of gold alone could make up the $600 dollar difference. This is a no brainer! Wait for that Manticore!
  14. There is good truth to what you are asking and thinking. One standout to maybe consider is gold chains. I did see a very impressive test where I know for a fact my 800 Equinox would have not even been close. I find lots of chains and have more experience than most with this area. I hope to get a test done sometime soon on chains done with direct comparison to the Equinox. Until then I would keep eyeballing a few you tube vids for clues.
  15. The reason you do not have a pic of that??????
  16. The range of those skanky zinc's is unacceptable>also the Nox pretty much locks my square tabs at 13-14..... SO HAPPY I detect in Mexico.
  17. Legend 9.5X6 and 12X9 announced today>>>ALSO another software update. So where is that D2 software update? πŸ™„....looks like I am still a tester for them😏
  18. No question Tom forgot more about detectors than i have ever known. However, you have to understand that his testing conditions are some of the mildest ground and beach in the country. His settings and results are going to be different than yours.
  19. Can you explain more? Wet sand? Wet sand water contact? Do you have any black sand? Thanks
  20. A combination of humor and truth!!!!πŸ˜„
  21. I agree, but want to point out how chatty the Manticore was. Not quite sure one could hunt there. I was also surprised to hear the sensitivity was only 23!!!!! One trick experienced hunters do on deep targets is to raise the sensitivity a point or two just to look at that one target. In this case the Manticore has LOTS of power left as compared to the D2. This is a very interesting point.
