You have that Equinox purring like a kitten!!!
-
WTH, is WRONG with companies off setting coils???? What engineer started this chit.
-
With the size of the connecting point, it may be a part of something larger?
-
It is completely plausible to understand why custom programs would not be saved. After all, factory settings are being re-written with an update. Then the open slots can be saved in the "new" program settings. I am not sure why this is hard to understand?

Deus II 0.7 Out Now: Live Threshold And More
midalake replied to ☠ Cipher's topic in XP Deus II Forum
You have no way to measure silent EMI. Which WILL happen when detectors are 4-5 feet apart. No tests whatsoever are valid with two detectors on and 4-5 feet apart. PERIOD! -
Deus II 0.7 Out Now: Live Threshold And More

You should NEVER do tests with two detectors ON and only 4-5 feet apart. -
I don't know? Place of use would be a concern. I can not even get Beach 1 on the Equinox to hunt ocean wet sand. Gold machine?
-
I have made my own grips for over 20 years. Here is one installed with the Equinox. They are a hand saver........... I never want to hunt without one!
-
Oh, I understand that. If I were to use a centering device, it would be epoxied down as one with the coil. BUT, this does not nullify the current coil mount problems. It will be interesting to see if water hunters will have issues with coil ears on the factory set-up. Deus has not made the coils water friendly.
-
The coil being offset, already makes it off weighted. Therefore, any resistance be it a solid or liquid will create MORE rotational torque. As a water hunter, one of my tricks in hard wave wash is to stuff the coil down to the bottom as the rush of water goes by. Thus, not catching the coil and having the water force it away from you. This is now complicated by a coil that is not center mounted.

PURDY!!!!

Since I detect in Mexico. Pretty sure it comes from there! 😉 Been finding it for 20 years........

I hope it is nothing!

May have to replace the entire rod if water hunting.

Stand alone 9" coils are going to available WAY before October!
-
Here are two that may still have some. These are small dealers, I suspect there are many more that have 9" ones available. https://www.detectorprospector.com/forums/topic/18431-big-allotment-of-deus-2s-on-their-way-to-gerrys-detectors/ https://metaldetectingforum.com/showthread.php?p=3380426#post3380426

9" coil packages have already been delivered in the USA, already.

What if you encounter EMI at a Salt Beach? Are there any tricks? Different from scans and shifts.
-
Those are not twist locks???? Then it is something like the original "Doc's CF Rod" Like a compression fitting with o-ring? I will pass on that too. Looks like twist locks to me..... https://goldenmaskdetectors.com/accessory-details.php?id=9&lang=en The company also states no coils over 1.65 pounds. I have never seen a weight rating on a rod. With the force of water hunting I am skeptical this will stand up?

I applaud you for getting something [because you have to] But no thanks on the twist locks for Salt Beach hunting. HH

What Is The Percent Of Male To Female Metal Detectorists?
midalake replied to TreasureHunter5's topic in Meet & Greet
In all my years detecting [45] I have never ran across one female hunter........ -
We could not do water testing because of the location where we are. Please let us know how this goes! Finding wild targets with one detector and checking with the other is the best way to get results. HH
