  1. I got a replacement 11 in coil for my Nox and it works with my Terra now.
  2. I went back to the same spot yesterday but the beaches have changed a bit. In the exact same spot i found many coins by sight only. Mostly 1 , 2 , 5 , 10p coins. There were a number of buried coins but i didn't find many. A mate found a Palladium ring and a few Pounds worth too with his Nox 900. I used the Terra again. I am certain if i went over any of his targets i would have found them. Nothing was deep though. No picture this time. My laptop is a bit slow at downloading at the moment. Next hunt will be with my Nox 800. Don't know for sure when though. Will be out on Friday, thats a longer tide. Oh and on this last trip i found £6.73p in mostly lower denomination coins.
  3. Back again in the morning so will make sure of a few things.
  4. Red headed step child LOL I have the Terra'ist Pro and it works well on the beach. Not quite like the Nox but maybe better in a way or 2 ! My post is up on here. My local dealer sells the Vanquish well. So who knows what will happen. 1 things else about the Vanquish 540. It loves sounding off on fresh seaweed. Mine did.
  5. I think the Simplex and the Garretts are going to have a bit of serious competition here.
  6. Today i took my new X.Terra Pro out for a hunt. I used the Nox 800 coil on it to see what that would be like and see if there is any major difference between the 800 and the new Terra. There is some really rough weather at the moment and it was a bit hit and miss whether i would find anything. But there was 1 good spot. I set my machine up in Beach 2 , Recovery 3 and Sensitivity 24 ! , did a noise cancel and got going. Almost immediately i found a few coins, some on the surface by sight and others buried. The Terra seems to be like the Nox though i'm not sure of depth on the salt beach. That might be because the machine is single freq and the Nox is multi freq? After a few more coins i turned my back on the sea and paid for it. My lower half got the wash of a lifetime by a wave LOL and as i was wet that was it. I strayed into the water with the Terra and it seemed stable with only small light low toned chirps here and there. I'm sure that if i found a target i would have heard it and did find a pulltab in the water. I also found a non ferrous 1p coin right next to a 3 inch square piece of Iron scrap so the recovery speed seems good at 3 setting. That setting might be the reason for me thinking depth is not as good as the Nox? I kept up the hunt and found a lot more coins and found a junk ring encrusted in small shingle stones. and a junk toe ring and a junk Pendent. I think the new Terra is a good machine . Very good a backup to anyone who uses the Nox and even worth having as a cheap alternative to the much more expensive machines. Being able to use all the Nox coils and use the Nox 900 phones and with an adaptor use the phones from the Nox 800 and the August 650B phones it makes the Terra Pro a damned good bargain. I have always thought of the Nox's as the successor to the old Terra's but it looks like the new Pro is the real successor. About time too. Tomorrow i might go out with the Nox 800 , not sure yet or might with the Terra with its own coil on. This machine is going to eat into other machines sales. Or it should!
  7. I went to my local dealer and they have 1 . But its a demo only. I wanted to buy it but they would not part with it. As its a demo i will get it cheaper later lol. I want 2 of them. Tomorrow there is a nice little roughy coming and i am out with my Terra for its first hunt. I will be using it with the "New" Nox 800 coil. Got this one in exchange for the faulty one i took back that would not work with the Terra at all and the 900 in both beach modes. Is there any part of the 800 that works without a poor track record!!
  8. And the prices! The Terra is a bargain if its as good as I have seen on videos.
  9. And it's own coil. Terra coils don't work with noxs
  10. Forgot about the Garrett machines. They will be the next to go South if they dont do a bit of catch up soon. The Terra Pro is a serious machine for the price.
  11. Here is a picture of my Terra ona Teleknox stem.
  12. They are pretty much gone now. You will find them on ebay or somewhere but the dealers are almost if not completely sold out. Good machines. Found lots with my long gone Terra 705 from 2011 to 2018.
  13. I have used my Nox 800 Teleknox shaft on my Terra Pro and it works. First wrap insulation tape around the area that the handle will fix too. It has to be thick enough for the 2 lugs on the bottom bracket to grip onto. But not to thick. Or the lugs could break. Then push the handle down onto the shaft, do the 4 screws up then you have carbon fibre shaft. The coil fits too. A picture of the complete job is on my phone will post here when i can later.
  14. I am surprised Minelab brought out another single freq machine and the price surprised me more. So i bought one a few days ago. I have set mine up for my beaches and will use it late next week when off work. I also put my Terra control box and coil onto a Teleknox stem. With a bit of electrical tape wrapped around the shaft to keep the handle sturdy when the screws are done up. I think the machine itself is quite good at first look and it will be used mainly on short tides and dry beaches where the EMI is worst. My 900 and till sold the 800 will be used on the wet along with my Legend. The Terra Pro being able to use all the Nox coils makes it quite versatile too. Minelab brought this machine out for only 1 reason i think. All out war on Nokta! Thats all. But thats not important to me, i wanted a new Terra a long time ago.
  15. They are like the Manticore by the looks of the vids i have seen of the Manticore on Youtube. And bit jumpy . But they give a rough idea. And are better than the 800 which you cannot tell what you are digging unless you know the targets in the area .
  16. I have the 800 and the 900 but i like to use them for the sand which only comes when the tide is right out or on long tides. They are also a lot more money to buy than the Terra is. I always got on with the 705 on the dry and took it all the way to low tide but not in the wet. I think i would more than likely replace my 800 with the Terra Pro then i have all i need. Also i have been watching many Manticore videos and i am not very impressed with it. Price is too high, it seems unstable a lot of the time. And for a top end machine it should have a 5 year warranty. The 900 and i think the Terra Pro are worth it. This year most of my detecting on the beaches will be with 3 machines from when i get the Terra. That will be with the Terra , Legend and the 900 after the 800 is sold. The 800 found me a Platinum ring yesterday so i have to say not bad. Might keep it and get the Terra anyway. Wish Minelab would give me one to test. But then they wont LOL As for EMI? At the moment there is only one machine i have that can handle the noise that happens on my beaches. More through me knowing the machine than the machine stopping it and thats the E.Trac. But that machine is in reserve. If the Terra can handle 2 areas without too much trouble then i will be happy. Those areas are Volks railway and the i360 . Then again there isn't much cash like there used to be now cashless is so bad.
  17. It will be useful. You all didn't really believe all that bull about single freq machines being obsolete did you lol. If the Terra Pro is good on dry beaches and the 705 is I might well buy one. It will replace my Nox 800 now I have the 900. Someone told me that it's just for the Chinese Market. But why give it an old name?
  18. It's a better machine than the 800. Similar but the target info is better on the 900. I will be out on a beach on Friday with the 900.
  19. I went out to a beach yesterday and the 900 works well. The numbers are a bouncy but are close enough to get an idea. I found 1 Silver ring, 2 junk rings and £12.15p and €1.30 and 3 fishing weights. I think the 900 is a very good improvement on the 800. If anyone knows of the Telenox stem. I think the 900 should have had that type. It has a grove down the back all the way down so it doesn't spin round when dropping the stems down. Otherwise very good.
  20. It may be twice the 800 scale but it should be stable. Anyway if i am able i will be on a bit to test in action tomorrow. The one thing i did not check was to see if the 900 11 inch coil worked on the 800 . Will check that tomorrow . I hear that other people have no trouble with their coils but do they have the 2 x 11 inch coils to test?
  21. I just tried the 800 11 inch coil again and it only gave a spity tone on a large metal safe. Tried a 50p coin , no go. Both 11 inch coils work on their respective machines. 800 and 900.
  22. Late last year i bought another Nox 800. I wanted to use it alongside my Nokta Legend on the beaches. Then Minelab p!55 me off by bringing out the machine that they should have brought out in the first place. Namely the Nox 900. So i sold my older of 2 Legends and bought the 900. It looks the part and i think is improved. Much better built though how long it will last in the hands of people that are going to use it hard is another thing. Minelab said that the 800 coils would work on the 900 so i put my 800 coil which is used on my 900 and i put the machine in an area that didn't have any EMI to worry about. I switched on and got some UK coins to test on the 900 with the 800 coil on. Sensitivity was at 15 as that was stable and i only wanted to know the numbers that came up. As said the machine was quiet. I knew it was working as i set a threshold tone. I tried a £2 coin and NOTHING . Tried others , NOTHING. The 11 inch coil i put from my Nox 800 does NOT work on the new 900 box. It fits fine and the machine stays on when switched on. But the coil is useless on the 900 . I put the 800 coil back on the 800 and it worked fine without any issues. I put the 900 coil back on the 900 and that worked without issues. So what is Minelab playing at ? Do older 600 and 800 coils work or not work on the 700 and 900 or is there something you have to do to set up old coils? Testing. Anyway i put the 900 coil back on the 900 and tested the UK coins i wanted to know numbers for. I have found that the numbers on the Nox 900 are a bit erratic and don't lock onto any particular number for coins. I have seen US testers on YouTube using the 900 and the Manticore and both machines seem to share the same numbers for coins but both machines seem to be erratic on numbers. I think an update might be needed here to stabilise this issue . Here are the numbers that i got for UK current coinage. £2 coin = 71 + - 3 £1 coin = 68 + - 2 50p coin = 36 + - 1 20p coin = 40 + - 1 10p coin = 33 + - 1 (older non Ferrous NOT LARGE type) 5p coin = 22 + - 1 (older non Ferrous NOT LARGE type) 2p coin = 86 + - 1 (non Ferrous) 1p coin = 77 + - 2 (non Ferrous) I like it that the numbers are all different for all the different coins. The 800 was a nightmare for target I.D. numbers. I didn't test Gold or Silver rings or coins as that's not a big deal as i would know what they would come in at knowing where the coins come in at. The numbers above were constantly erratic and that doesn't happen on the Legend or the Deus 11 . I like the Nox 900 but i feel there is need for an update here and an answer is needed about the coils too. The Manticore is the same where it comes to the numbers. Even if i dont have one i have seen videos of this machine and that behaves in a similar manner. Before i go anywhere near the idea of buying the Manticore late this year i will want to see updates sorting these issues it has. Another issue i have seen that worries is the Manticore gives very good numbers for many Iron targets . If there are around 50 Ferrous numbers then why do they come in on the non Ferrous numbers? End of rant. But i'm not entirely impressed yet. Also i would like to know if anyone knows of any cheaper wireless headphones that would work with the 900 ? There has to be 1 or 2 out there.
