DD Eclipse Coil - Need Advise
Matt4gold replied to TC-AZ's topic in Metal Detector Advice & Comparisons
V rated do work on MXT, MX5, M6, DFX and the V3i I am almost positive. -
Timex takes a licking and keeps ticking. Always amazed at the number of metal tent pegs that get lost. Sure would be nice if the plastic ones were used more, save a lot of digging.

DD Eclipse Coil - Need Advise
Matt4gold replied to TC-AZ's topic in Metal Detector Advice & Comparisons
The 4x6 Shooter coil is a great little coil for small items down to say 6 inches. I used one on the MXT and MX5 and it locked onto small jewelry very well. Once found a girls ring, 10k, 1.7g at about 5 inches deep with the Shooter. I’m sure some of the after market smaller coils most likely work well also, I just never used any other small ones one the MX series. I did use a SEF WSS 5x10 and really enjoyed it. Id use it at seeded hunts. No need for a pin pointer, target was always dead center of the coil. Saved a lot of time in seeded timed hunt. -
Metal Detecting In Grand Cayman
Matt4gold replied to Yooper's topic in Metal Detecting For Coins & Relics
Consider taking a backup, and or not getting to deep in the water. A well known dealer on this site just had one crash while water hunting I believe. Not saying there’s water issues like the Nox 800 but think about a backup.- 1 reply

First Day Out With The Legend
Matt4gold replied to JohnnyDigs's topic in Metal Detecting For Coins & Relics
Glad you are enjoying the Legend. I found a Kennedy half second time out with the Legend at a parks volley ball court. Try the 20 kHz frequency too. Keep playing with it and happy hunting. -
Like Mark Twain said, better to remain silent,…

I’m guessing batteries are under the arm cuff similar to how Whites did some of there detectors like the MX Sport.

Monster 13.5 Gram Bvlgari Gold, I'm Speechless.
Matt4gold replied to Gerry in Idaho's topic in Metal Detecting For Jewelry
My trip this year to Colombia will be the Nox 800 or my Legend with my 2 piece stainless steel scoop. Can’t pack too much. Heck, takes 2 days to get there from Boise. -
Monster 13.5 Gram Bvlgari Gold, I'm Speechless.
Matt4gold replied to Gerry in Idaho's topic in Metal Detecting For Jewelry
Next year take the Axiom with you Gerry to see if some targets are deeper than a VLF will hit. Better have a real good scoop, lol and dig fast before the sand fills back in. Few years ago I was detecting a beach near Cartagena Colombia. The local beach vendors were amazed, acted like they had never seen a metal detector before. One guy followed me around for an hour until he got tired of watching me find bottle caps (checas). Soon as he left I found a sterling silver ring in knee deep water, followed by a men’s gold band shortly there after. Seems there’s not many beach hunters around that area. -

Nokta Double Score Iffy Signals Separation Tests

Thanks for sharing the video Jeff. I found the sloppy way the coil wire was wrapped interesting. 🙄 -

Innovations Used In Today's Metal Detectors
Matt4gold replied to Bohemia Miner's topic in White's Metal Detectors
Make the pawn shop an offer on the GMT, say $380 and see what they say. You may be surprised. -
Welcome to the site. What part of SC are you from? I lived in Summerville for over 30 years before moving to Idaho. There’s plenty of relics to find there on private land. Charleston does not allow metal detecting on public property such as parks or historic sites.

Love getting out in the wilderness here in Idaho. River and streams around the Treasure Valley are starting to slow down finally. That’s some beautiful scenery there where you are. Wife and I want to get out this Sunday for her birthday. -
My First Metal Detector And My First Finds!
Matt4gold replied to PathfinderBob's topic in Nokta / Makro Metal Detectors
Swing low and slow. By the time you have 20-30 hours on it you’ll start finding some surprisingly interesting finds. Hit some public areas where a lot of people get together. Volley ball courts are good for jewelry and coins and can be hunted in a short amount of time. Happy hunting.
