  1. Got this out on my only hunt this year. Works great in most ground but need to sharpen it for hard packed soil. No good in dry packed soil at all. Pretty tough, someone even hammered on it to drive it in by the looks of it.
  2. Kind of funny Minelab is putting all newer models in basically the same housing like Tesoro did with the µmax line. Except the Cortez a la Manticore😄
  3. Bought a golden µmax and a compadre at sunray when he was still in Hazleton iowa. Really liked it and only sold them about 2 yrs ago.
  4. Nuggets are pretty sophisticated too.
  5. Wonder if Europe's versions of Basspro are getting extra attention from M/L lately.
  6. The real reason why IDC dropped Minelab https://treasurehuntingworld.com/2023/03/23/the-real-reason-why-idc-dropped-minelab/
  7. is the coiltec 10x5 concentric? i don't see the Double d crossover? Semi spiral and bundle, i'm clueless. what do they mean? thanks.
  8. I really like hearing tones and seeing the screen plus trying different setting, get a better feel for it. thanks mike!
  9. Does the 2D figure into this or just your ears? Do you pinpoint to help in final determination?
  10. They are cheap and everyone has a few laying around. the one above is expensive,😄 $12.99 but harbor freight sells sets for that. link to one pictured from asmanon https://www.amazon.com/Tueascallk-Woodworking-Improvement-Photography-Projects/dp/B07FPN6W49
  11. I've thought about a cheap plastic bipod, check out the used stuff at gunshows. Or how about a spring clamp? modify it with half a piece of pvc glued in each jaw. non skid paint or tape on the inside of the pvc.
  12. Should be good according to website.
  13. Thanks Steve i haven't seen that in a while! Found this just now and seems it's the euro version? https://detecteurmetaux2.blogspot.com/2013/04/catalogues-telecharger-catalogues.html
  14. Minelab's betting we aren't. I would say they feel newer buyers have more fun money and lower expectations. The number of people that have at least 2 SMF units tell the tale somewhat.
  15. seen used one on facebook for about $1300 in wisconsin
  16. His site was in french but catalogs were usually in English. Lost my bookmarks and can't find it, thought it was mentioned here a few years ago, thanks.
  17. sounds normal in signal rich ground plus the iron halo's. It makes it impossible to dig it all in yards and parks, in fields i can dig till i get a clue what's going on and can ignore junk if i don't feel like a groundhog.
  18. i think that link is from The U.K.
  19. https://www.crawfordsmd.com/pwr-nox * Note that this was designed for the original Equinox 600/800 models. The next gen 700/900 do not have the arm cup screw, so will require alternative fixing. For the New Equinox Series we recommend using our Pwr-Clip Stem Mount Probe Clip, see options at the top of the page. For Minelab Manticore users the pack can be fastened with a thin cable tie through the upper mounting hole.
  20. Looks like it should have never left the factory, I wouldn't buy that if it was a cheap factory second. Coil cover even stay on?
  21. That's a great find anywhere especially a place like that!
  22. this is interesting... https://prostockdetectorsmi.com/files/2017/03/better-finds-after-sunset.pdf
  23. Nice surprise to find silver in a park anywhere these day's. Got to looking at my home town park list and found a few small ones in 1850's neighborhoods that i never knew about. Just small parcels but surrounded by historical homes. And a divided street with 12 foot wide by 60 green strip down the middle that got me looking at the area to start.
  24. my minelab speaker quit but i slapped in into my hand and works. i never use the speaker just vibrate. Thing i don't like is having to look at it every time to find the button due to being round. And it's big . Had the carrot too but sold it to my BIL.
