That statement comes directly from MInelab??? Or is it from a dealer? If that's directly from Minelab, I would be shocked that they could not answer that question. In any event, I hope you can get your answer.

    I dont think it’s a dealer , mail is service@minelab.com.au

No one said you had to take anyone's advice that's posted. You are complaining about something you think is true without even knowing if it is fact. Why not just ask Minelab?

I been doing this , this is the response

    Hello,

Thank you for your enquiry about the MANTICORE backlight.
At this stage there is minimal information available for the MANTICORE as it is still in it's final engineering stages.
I haven't had a chance to use one of these myself at this point but from what I have seen via the online videos the light on the detector is switched on/off by the button on the side of the control pod.
The adjustments (1-10) for the back light setting will be changed through the on-screen menu. "

Why not just put a black sock over it for when you hunt at night? Set the light to it's lowest setting and then cover the screen up.  Or make a black piece of plastic that you can just put over the display. You can use rubber bands or Velcro to keep it in place. I would never not buy a machine for something I can solve to my liking fairly easily.

So you confirm that we can't run with light off?

come on, I can't see myself buying a 2000 bucks detector and having to stick Velcro which will dirty the screen and take water and sand

a black sock, why not but that adds a detail to think about and to be able to touch the settings you would have to put it on halfway, not even sure that it holds all the hunting and that it completely hides the light.

this is not a golf driver we are talking about

moreover, completely turning off the lights can be useful for those who want to save a little battery

I remain perplexed that minelab did not think of a 0 for the adjustment of the lights🤔

yes, its an option, it has a light sensors on it, you can manually adjust it or have it on auto.

yes that's what I understood too, but in the manual setting, they say from 1 to 10, which could mean that you cannot completely turn off the light.

it's very important to me, I'm used to detecting, digging and recovering targets in total darkness and I don't want to be seen on the beach with a light even if it is set to minimum on 1 .

Is there anyone who can provide any information on this? can we run manticore without any light??

The automatic adjustable light is probably Nice for my iphone but for a detector i dont see the point here

we are not continusly with the eyes on the screen

  5. someone understood for the many light settings? I would like to know if everything can be turned off completely?
in the mini manual it is written from 1 to 10, so there is no zero?

I hunt beaches at 80% at night without any lights and if this manticore can't turn off the lights completely then it will be without me

I agree , especially when you compare with the XP D2 which now starts at 750€ with the WS6 Lite package ...

i am not english but i understood 1599€ vat included in the video🤔 , does he said that ?

I feel like this 2d bargraph is an insignificant gimmick 🤨

I would like to see the shape rendered on a pulltab

in some countries it will be somewhat more and in others somewhat less.  According to him VAT from home country and other taxes.  Here we have 21% VAT.  I think it's something else in France no‽

VAT in France is 20% anyway I live not far from you (jerez) so I will buy it in Spain

otherwise, I have family in Switzerland with 8% VAT but they sell the nox more expensive than in France, I guess they will do the same with manticore..

Which it has.  But if you're saying it has to be on continuously, maybe so.

It's not 50% more than Equinox, it's 50% more than single frequency detectors.  Their typical ambiguous marketing speak is carefully worded to create these misconceptions without blatantly speaking untruths.

    Light on continuously ?

do that mean we can’t go with light screen off ?

  9. the release of the nox was a fiasco in France, I had only had it in April and yet I was in the first batch of pre-orders hope we don't have to wait too long for the manticore

We'll know if it's a best seller when steve puts up a manticore sub-forum 🙂

  10. The pulltabs according to their condition cover a large part of the gold range I have many gold rings that are 13 id pulltabs in good condition

, I have tried several times to compare buried at different depths and there is absolutely no way to tell them apart and I don't have a bad ear Since I am a musician by profession and I have perfect pitch,

I know the musical note of each sound on the nox and its vdi without looking at the screen.

I always wonder why a manufacturer does not work on the density of metals which could help us to distinguish subtle audio differences between gold and aluminum!

    maybe this is not possible?

Yes, I think it's true. I'm from Turkey and here in middle-east there are many places which has huge treasures in. Most of them are archaeological graves or cave-like places. So for searching in these places I need a reliable detector. But most of them are expensive! Here in Turkey, Nokta detectors are cheaper than international stores. For example you can buy Deephunter for about 1500usd (by currency of Turkey). But I've heard Nokta's deepsearching detectors are not reliable. Even I've heard many people dug for nothing! Actually I don't know if it's true or not but I'm a little bit afraid to buy Nokta. Otherwise I would buy one.

I honestly doubt you have the right to do that. moreover I dare not imagine the penalty if you get caught
