Suggestions For Future MDT Changes
Ridge Runner replied to dewcon4414's topic in Tarsacci Metal Detectors
Geezer Everything you said is sad but true and very little we can do. My Tarsacci can sit in the corner for a month are more and within a minute all the settings come back to me. I can walk out the door knowing I’ve got it down pat and don’t have the need to look at a manual. I guess it’s made for a simple mined me . I can concentrate on detecting and not on what to do next to get the correct settings I want. Please don’t get me wrong I do have others like I was talking about but I find as I get older I just like it simple. Chuck -

I remember Aaron’s forum and he was so helpful but I didn’t know about Tom. It would be good for Tarsacci if people knew if they getting their monies worth why having to spend 5 hundred more to have one. One thing if nothing else I like about the Tarsacci and that’s if I know it will sit a while I just remove the batteries. I have one other I can do the same and that’s my 2300 but everything else I have to keep a check on them . I still want a small elliptical coil say 10X5 but here I sit wishing in one hand and spitting in the other. So why don’t you tell me what one is running over. Chuck -

When sales goes up a company they can afford to put more time in their product to make it better. I’ve have yet to see a ad on the Tarsacci in any mag .A lot of show and tell in some mag goes along way if they can run it in color as we see lots of companies do. This forum is the best thing that’s happen to Tarsacci on getting its name out there. But the trouble is this is the only forum you will see the word Tarsacci pop up. Remember the watch ad that said Takes a licking and keeps on ticking. That in my opinion is the Tarsacci . Chuck -
Seeking Advice For Trip To Alaska
Ridge Runner replied to Bohemia Miner's topic in Detector Prospector Forum
For me I say make your detectors a carry on. You may not have any clothing but you can nugget hunt. I was thinking about going there myself this year. I’ve been there before with another but this to me is going first class when someone else is doing the cooking. Chuck -
World's Fair Pin
Ridge Runner replied to George Kinsey's topic in Metal Detecting For Coins & Relics
Hey George I too had a 4900 and like you said it was a great machine. I’m thinking I sold it to my father in law and that’s when I bought the Eagle two. It still works great and find them coins. If you had the Eagle you could send it to White’s and for 125.00 they would update it to a Eagle two . That’s the only time I know of Whites doing that. The Best! Chuck -

GB_Amateur I remember the Heathkits and almost got one but got something else. Son you walk softly when you bring up the subject of age .haha I have found out if you live long enough you will get old . I got a joke for you that my mother told me I believe when she was in her 80’s . This guy came across a friend on the street and his friend ask where did you get that black eye ?The guy replied would you believe in church. Then he ask what happen ? Well I was sitting in church and the song leader ask us to stand up and we did . But here was this lady standing in front of me with her dress in the crack of her rear. So I just reached over crabbing the bottom of her dress and popped it out . You can see how I got paid for my good deed. Time had past and here again was that same friend. The friend ask don’t you have another black eye ? He answered yes and would you believe bye the same woman. The friend ask what happen this time? Well here I was in church again and again the song leader ask us to stand up. When we did here was the same lady in front of me with her dress stuck in the crack of her rear again. The guy next to bend’s over and pops it out like I did before. Well I knew she didn’t want it out so I stuck it back in. GB I named my oldest son Heath . I guess you could say my wife and I put that Heathkit together. Chuck -
Beach Hunters In The Corpus Christy Area
Ridge Runner replied to paradiceau's topic in Metal Detecting For Jewelry
History says that Mrs Johnson dedicated it on April 8 1968 as a National Sea Shore. I may not always be right but at the same time I don’t remember when I was wrong.hahaha The Best Good People! Chuck -

Ridge Runner replied to paradiceau's topic in Metal Detecting For Jewelry
The Corpus paper called the caller times was posting on that all the time being it was the hottest thing going at the time. The date when are what was made don’t make much difference anymore being it’s all history now. The truth being is to keep your butt of state parks and National Sea Shore in Texas with a detector. Why would it hurt you ask will they willing to take your money but don’t take none of theirs .haha The state had people working the sites and I can assure you that they didn’t get it all. A really good storm could bring up a lot for a beach stroller looking real good as you stroll along. If you ever down Corpus way they have a museum that you can see what can up. I have copies of X-rays showing some of things found in crusted. That alone is interesting. Chuck -

snakejim Before 69 a treasure company got ran off in 67 by the state of Texas and everything they had was taken from them. It’s three ships along that area . I believe it was 68 that area was made a National Sea Shore by Texas . It was first found out about the ships along the coast when they made the cut at Mansfield called Mansfield cut they dug through it cutting that channel to the Gulf side. I was there while all of this was going on. I was there from 66 to the end of 69 and by then it was all history. Maybe 🤔 The treasure ships are two miles above that cut I was talking about. Some years ago I was detecting in another town and this guy came up to me and started talking about me hunting there. When I looked up the first thing I saw was this beautiful pillar dollar hanging around his neck. As soon as I said something about it he backed off that’s until I started talking about it that I knew where it came from and what I knew about the ships. He admitted where it came from and because of that I didn’t ask are want to know his name. I never seen that guy again but just guessing he had to live in that town and it too had a long history it’s self. I have maps showing where the treasure ships are located but a lot of good it will do you. I came across this old boy that had a bait stand on the island and he had a handful of quarter dollars. How he found them was walking behind the dunes. The wind would blow the sand out around them leaving them sitting on top like a little toad stool . Back in their day they cut a dollar coin to make change and then you had a quarter dollar if you cut it to make 4. Chuck -

Tom long before I could afford a detector that’s buying store bought. I made my first from a kit and it worked but at the same time it was a joke. The BFO came from a Whites dealer and he had a restaurant with a glass case with every coin you could think of that he had found. I got into prospecting in your neck of the woods along the 49’s trail. That was back in 61. I don’t know why but everything is back when. I guess I need to kick my butt for getting older not old. I had started working for the phone company in Corpus and that’s along the coast in south Texas. That’s the place where I bought that BFO detector. The kit I made I used it in another town and it too was on the coast. I ran across this guy and he had found 18 silver dollars about a foot down wrap up in a old oil cloth. Tom I hope this answers your question. What I look like is with a face only a mother could love and she just turned a 100 back in November.haha If one day you out there prospecting and you see a soda straw sticking out of the ground please don’t pull it up. I hope to be out there when I’m about to die and here’s what I got plan . I’m going to pull the dirt over me and have that soda straw to get air until I die . So you see why I said don’t pull it up. Just think I may not be dead yet and you unknowingly just killed me because I smothered to death. Now we both feel bad about that.haha The Best To You Tom ! Chuck -

Dewcon 4414 What you just said is great to hear but can you are anyone else point out improvement over Tarsacci now to the one made two years ago? I haven’t got to use mine like I’d plan when I bought it but for little as I’ve got to use it I do like the simplicity of it. Chuck -

We all had to start one time are another at detecting and mine was in the mid 60’s with a White’s BFO . Back then it was like fishing that the silver was everything you dug . You looked at clad quarters like trash but I don’t remember throwing any away. I had the luck of finding a half dollar a fair amount of time. Then every blue moon up pop a silver dollar. People get excited to find a wheat penny now days but back then the wheat’s didn’t start getting old until the 30’s are earlier. My reasoning behind that was due to a buzzard drop me on a fence post and the Sun hatched me in 1941 . The good thing getting permission wasn’t a hard thing to get due to the fact most people never seen a metal detector. I do remember one that I can reflect back on and went like this . I was working for the phone company then and I went over to this one horse town to hunt around this old meeting hall. I been at it a while detecting and pops this guy biting at my butt and that day I wasn’t up to any bull from anybody. If he had just told me to leave I may have done it but he back me into a corner I’d had enough. So I let him know if he keep it up me and him was going to wap ass Texas . Maybe it was best for me he backed off and we started talking like we were old friends.haha Come to find out he took care of the place and he needed me being I worked for the phone company. When they have party’s the phone get screwed up every time.. Someone was talking about relics found back then . I remember one relic I’d found several but at that time I didn’t know was it was . I didn’t find out what it was until I went to this deal to buy a 66TR. It had a lid saying Merry Widow on it. Anyway I ask him and he said that was a condom container. I can truly say I found more rings and other jewelry but back when you didn’t have any way of blocking out trash. I guess the good thing I was younger and stronger back then. Best to all! Chuck -

Thank about this is how many electronic engineers does Tarsacci company have? If the company has only one the owner then it’s limited to what he can dream up . One man along only has so much knowledge but put several electronic engineers together and the sky beyond of what we see they can dream up. One man alone the Tarsacci won’t be much more than what it is now. Like so many detector companies it too will fall bye the wayside. Chuck -
I’m sure it’s not one here that hasn’t been touched by death in one form are another. When the loss of a family member the pain of that cuts deeper than maybe another . We have been given one life to live and by living we honor the past with the present together. Redneck even if you don’t see but one set of foot prints in the sand you’re never alone. Chuck

Doc I’m glad to hear you are still above ground but now I’ve got to give all that money back that I collected for flowers 💐 for you. This kinda like my wife in she’s been having a lot of trouble and one day she said I wish you would just shoot me. I started loading my gun and she backed out on me . Chuck

Nokta Legend Or Minelab Equinox 900?
Ridge Runner replied to D&P-OR's topic in Metal Detector Advice & Comparisons
I’ve been down the road of not having a backup and I paid for my stupidity. What I’m talking about is when you just made a thousand mile trip but that new detector was working great the day I left home. I had been testing it on different size nuggets but at home the ground wasn’t as hot as where I was headed . When I turned that little jewel on I knew it and I both had a problem. At that time I didn’t have a backup but I make sure that don’t happen to me again. When I got back from my site seeing trip I sent it in and it got fixed. Now I look like a traveling salesman with all the detectors I’m carrying. That’s why I say you can’t have too many detectors. Chuck -
Nokta Legend Or Minelab Equinox 900?
Ridge Runner replied to D&P-OR's topic in Metal Detector Advice & Comparisons
I don’t see a problem in I’d buy them both. You going to need a backup and later down the road you can determine the one you want to call a backup. Motto to remember. You can never have too many detectors. Chuck -
Let’s say you never had a detector in your hands. We don’t care if you never swing a detector before and need help because it’s not one of us that got started knowing everything about detecting. You make think you’re too old to start and that’s bull if it ever was. It’s so many detectors that’s 3 pounds are less that can keep you in the game. Maybe cost is a problem for you. 10 years ago could have been a problem but today it’s some great new buys under 3 hundred are less. So you say I’m a kid and maybe you don’t want kids. I say to you kid if that’s what you want to call yourself just remember not one on here wasn’t a kid at one time. Heck I’m a kid at 81 and I’ll don’t plan on changing . I’ll call you young man but please don’t call me grandpa being I got 9 grandkids that do that. Ladies we do have some ladies on here but I want you to know this forum is for everyone and I can assure you help will come just as fast be man are woman 👩. If you been looking the forum over you can see it’s everything that can be detected is on here to read about. I’m rolling out the red carpet for each of you to the forum. So why don’t you make yourself a Christmas gift to us and we welcome you with open arms. Chuck Anders
