Announcing The New Makro Racer 2!
Ridge Runner replied to Nokta Detectors's topic in Nokta / Makro Metal Detectors
In all fairness I had to bring the Makro Racer 2 back up to the top .This detector may not be waterproof but it has so much going for it. Oh I like a detector being waterproof but I know I'm not going be out in the rain detecting. Yes some it will fit the bill for them but I already have one that is waterproof. Here is another detector that will run all week plus the weekend too. We have come a long way baby as one could say. My first BFO detector had three tubes and you had to have the power to run it. What I see in this detector and another will not be the price. it's going to be more on what fits your needs and maybe what's easy just to turn on without putting a strain on the brain. They have keep it simple if that's what you want. I think they need to have a buy one and get one free.HaHa We could all get together and in this way we could have both in the end. Chuck PS Not one has called me to do testing for them. Oh well ! -
Whites MX Sport Waterproof Metal Detector
Ridge Runner replied to Rick K - First Member's topic in White's Metal Detectors
Okay people I've sit here and watch all of the MX Sport video's . I've come to the conclusion of two things. The first is I don't have a MX Sport yet. The other is being it's so easy on batteries why would I need to spend the money on a recharge system. The truth is I have one already. Twenty hours are more is a long time on one set of batteries. Hey Digger Bob I don't think I've seen the date the MX Sport will hit the market.. So what do you say ? Chuck -
Hey Indianbullet Small nuggets are large ones it's still gold. Now it belongs to you. That coil looks like a NF Sadie 8 x 6.. Best of luck on finding the next ones. Chuck

White's had came out with a simple TDI SL and they couldn't sell it I believe to African.. Then they had it in storage for maybe a year are more. Then they ask Jimmy Sierra if he would sell them. He put his name on it and called it Sierra Pulse Pro ( SPP ) for short. It works great and light weight but loves batteries. Any coil that will work on a GPX Minelab will work on it but oddly not so the other way. Chuck

Garrett Infinium Discontinued
Ridge Runner replied to Steve Herschbach's topic in Garrett Metal Detectors
Chris I do believe that is true in the USA MFG. I'd say that don't hold true for Makro company so far away. Is what you call seeing is believing with Makro. It's good to see White's new MX Sport waterproof. I just wonder why it took so long. Chuck -

Whites MX Sport Waterproof Metal Detector
Ridge Runner replied to Rick K - First Member's topic in White's Metal Detectors
Over the years I've found that depth can be good but not totally always needed. Some of the oldest coins I've found was covered with no more what you would call dust. Coins can get deeper by someone stepping on it and pushing it down . If the ground is the type that gets big cracks you could find coins down 9 inches are more. So in my opinion you don't need a detector that will melt the candy bar in your pocket. Now it is all about what fits your needs not someone else. The only thing I will say is buy the best you can afford. By doing this you will be happy for years with your purchase. Chuck -
Announcing The New Makro Racer 2!
Ridge Runner replied to Nokta Detectors's topic in Nokta / Makro Metal Detectors
HELP it's raining not just great detectors but super great detectors. We have a company that wants our business and like said they listen to us.. I know dealing with the other half of this company Nokta they will make it right. Anything I say about Makro and Nokta will be all praise. They will always get the best referral one can give from me. Chuck PS Sometimes I need to proof read what I post. ( prize, praise ) -
It's was back in the 60's that I've been in Placerville. I just don't see how I could make this one but I've love too. It's got to be the greatest Gold Prospecting Summit ( show ) a person could make. You have so many knowledgeable people under one roof giving the talks. Chuck PS Steve you don't have a list of the dealers that have a booth ?

Frequency High Low Maybe in Between
Ridge Runner replied to Ridge Runner's topic in Metal Detector Advice & Comparisons
Fred That's my thinking too. Not that I'm going to change but wanted to hear others opinion. One thing I found out long ago and it's no stupid question. Chuck -
For years I didn't think about frequency and I still don't spend a lot of time thinking about it now. I know over time the powers that be have found one frequency over another will detect small gold. Oh I'm all for their endeavor. The thing is I've been a coin hunter lots longer than a nugget hunter. That single frequency has found me untold rings and coin back to the early 18 hundreds. Now here soon White's MX Sport Waterproof single frequency detector will hit the market. My thinking is why not it's been good to me all the years I've been swinging a single frequency detector. I know now we have detectors that can run in more than one frequency but do I really need it. I'd like to hear your thinking on this subject. Chuck

We have been hearing about every detector other than Nokta Impact. I've been sitting here waiting and waiting to hear from them. Nokta it's time you let the cat out of the bag and show us a little .Do like White's been doing just show a little of at a time. Oh the Nokta Fors Gold Plus is all Plus. Chuck PS Cat and metal detector is one of the same.( It's hit the market ) NOTE - THIS IS AN OLDER THREAD. The latest information on the Nokta Impact may be found here.

Whites MX Sport Waterproof Metal Detector
Ridge Runner replied to Rick K - First Member's topic in White's Metal Detectors
It's called MD-hunter Blog. This guy has a banana has it on the ground and when he swings the MX over it he calls it a quarter. Later he starts to eat the banana and out comes a quarter. I wish I knew how to move it over here. I haven't heard about any release date. Chuck -
Whites MX Sport Waterproof Metal Detector
Ridge Runner replied to Rick K - First Member's topic in White's Metal Detectors
White's is putting the new MX Sport through test beyond any I've ever seen before. Over on MD a guy is making these test with his eyes covered with the Mx Sport. The one I can't believe is the banana test. Yes this one you have to see for yourself. Chuck. -
Makro Gold In The Park-- February '16
Ridge Runner replied to vanursepaul's topic in Nokta / Makro Metal Detectors
Hi vanursepaul With detectors past we dug it all. Here with your new Makro Gold detector it is best to dug all when nugget hunting. That's if you don't want to walk off thinking about that last signal. Just maybe I should have dug it . Even with the ID machines we have today. I still sometimes wish I'd dug that last signal. Lots of times I'm thinking this laying in bed at night. I wish all the luck with your new Makro Gold Racer. Thank you for the video and your time making it. Chuck -
Klunker Some time back I drove 18 hundred miles to meet with Digger Bob to nugget hunt in Nevada. The second day there I was told a bad storm was on the way and we needed to get out. So I drove back home to Texas. Maybe if gold wasn't the color it is just maybe we wouldn't go mad hunting for it. The Best on your next trip. Chuck

I love to dream and I've done a lot finding gold in another country but that's as far as it got. Here is my view. Say I go to Alaska and a American Bear eats me. Now I pass through it's system. Got that ? The thing is I'll still be in the Good Old USA.. Chuck
-
Hi Woody It looks good but if you can't get out alive it don't look as good anymore. When you step across that line from the USA into another country you lose control. One may be to have a gun to protect yourself. Another is you work finding the gold with others watching and waiting to take it away from you. You could wake up dead. You really don't wake up. I've looked at other gold and I think about it but I just like me too much. What won't kill will eat you are both.Ha You go ahead and go Woody but post here when can. Chicken Little no Chicken a Lot Chuck

Hey Deathray Nothing like finding those seated coins. Glad to see they still out there to be found. Back about 1972 I found 5 seated dimes under one bush. This place was a old fair grounds and the last one there was in 1945 I was told. Now this was found with a White's 66 TR. Then just about everything was coming up silver. The best to you on finding more. Chuck
