Whites MX Sport Waterproof Metal Detector
Ridge Runner replied to Rick K - First Member's topic in White's Metal Detectors
Auminesweeper Oh well my cup runs over with nugget detectors. I want it more for coin hunting and the waterproof part of it. Please don't rain on my parade.Haha Chuck -
Say you the Mfg. of the product can ask what you wish. The thing is you have to now convince me I can't live without your shaft you have . If I want what you have my trouble is I don't look at the price. In this case it don't do anything for me and that's what makes it easy for me to say no. That is the way life is. Some things we can live without and others I can't live unless I can get it. Chuck PS I can't say I'd be happy even if you hung me with a new rope. I didn't like the twist. I love this forum.

Whites MX Sport Waterproof Metal Detector
Ridge Runner replied to Rick K - First Member's topic in White's Metal Detectors
Guys This detector may not need the power you see in the power pack. I can give it but I've put a voltage regulator that will give you a longer run time. Now White's has made you happy with a great detector and it's so easy on batteries. Chuck -
Glenn in Co I use the same pointer as you and I love it. Gambler I didn't have my pointer with me the last time I was out nugget hunting. I plan on giving it a try that if and when I get to the gold fields again Norvic You are talking to a man that knows his Poo I step back in it enough I should. The Best Chuck

When I was a kid I was told it's not polite to point. The kid got lots of years behind him detecting now. One dealer sent me a pinpointer some years back but I didn't like the looks of it. To me it look like a box of M & M peanuts that you get at the show with a big pencil sticking out one end. The newer shape came out you can wrap your hand around it and this I like. So when I ordered a detector from Digger Bob I said I'd try another pointer. So now I find myself as soon I open the ground I reach for my pointer. Oh my thinking is why didn't I use the first one I had. If anyone is out there detecting without one do yourself a favor and buy one. I think back for all the years I could have cut down on time looking for the target I'd located. I know they are not cheap but what is anymore. Chuck

Minelab GPX Small Lightweight Battery
Ridge Runner replied to Steve Herschbach's topic in Minelab Metal Detectors
Steve Do you remember when you could buy what was called a half battery. It looked like half the size of the standard one and I'd say this looks like a half size as the other. The battery then and now are different in looks and what's inside of the housing. You still have the power cable connection to deal with. Chuck -
Confused About My Next Detector
Ridge Runner replied to Nevada1616's topic in Metal Detector Advice & Comparisons
Nevada1616 If you thinking about buying Makro Gold Racer from Turkey or the Nokta fors Gold Plus go for it. I have the Nokta Fors Gold Plus but was defective out of the box. I said something on here about my trouble and they came to my aide. The first part didn't fix it but they paid shipping both ways. then sent the other the control box and that was the fix. Again they paid shipping both ways. Like said they paid it all and I wasn't out one cent.. Makro and Nokta is one in the same company that came about when the two brothers came together. I don't care what detector you buy. Your detector won't be any better until you learn all about what it can do. Then get out there and do it over and over again. Lots of people may not believe this but when you get to the point of what I said above. Then and only then you will be one with your detector. Always think positive thinking the next swing is going to be a nugget. In my case that was what I was doing coin hunting today. Now don't go and tell this to anyone when nugget hunting. If you come on dirt that has fallen out of a bulldozer tracks in the field check that dirt with your detector. I found two two gram nuggets doing that. The best Chuck -
Confused About My Next Detector
Ridge Runner replied to Nevada1616's topic in Metal Detector Advice & Comparisons
If a SD goes south just where do you get it fixed. In the past I've always said buy the best you can afford. The next one you can buy with the coins you found. I know on coin detectors this will whole true if you get out and use it. All detectors just need somebody behind it to work. Chuck -
Confused About My Next Detector
Ridge Runner replied to Nevada1616's topic in Metal Detector Advice & Comparisons
You have so many new detectors that are coming soon if not already out. Heck I'd loan you my GMZ if was near. I just got it as a backup detector but now have one to replace it. The GMZ of White's is the low end of the GMT. The MX Sport will be out soon and all that I've heard it has a lot going for it. I hope to buy one more so for the coin hunting side of it and being waterproof. Right now Digger Bob is testing it right now.and he knows what he's doing. Chuck -

Need Help Picking Out Test Nuggets For The Whites MX Sport
Ridge Runner replied to khouse's topic in White's Metal Detectors
Khouse If you can get some old shot gun shells and get the shot out. The old ones is got lead in it. If you can get your hands on any lead and then cut to different weights. This will take the place of the gold you don't have. Best of luck on the new detector when we can get one. Another thing if White's offer smaller coils for the MX you may need one. The trouble is you have to spend the money first to play the game. The Best Chuck -

Nevada 1616 The best thing you can do is sit back and read what Steve and others have posted. Sounds like you have a good detector to start but just maybe all you need is a smaller coil for nugget hunting. I don't know the size of coil the MXT Pro comes with.. The Best Chuck -

Now White's has a video just to tell you the price. I just seen it over on MD-hunter. I think the price has been said on here before but here it is again 799. Well I've got to have one and I need to move a detector are two. This kid has got to get out of this candy store. I think this forum is finer than frog hair but the trouble is I can't buy all what seen. Another great thing about this forum is if it's out there you will see it here first. Chuck -
Sorry about that. I just seen it and also to hear about it. Here I was thinking I had something new and wanted to tell all. Oh well that's life.Ha I didn't say I was the smartest rock in the box. Chuck

To be sure I hadn't slip a gear I done a search and found more on this subject. I'm not saying I know anymore. Just maybe someone on here will. Chuck

White's applied for a trademark called XVENTURE. I don't know just what it's all about. .MD-Hunter had it on their site. Talk was maybe something new in metal detectors from White's for 2016. The odd thing is when I went back to take another look it was gone. ???????? Chuck

May the Force be with you Steve. Chuck -
One policy I've had and that is return all rings if can. Now that's if it comes with tracking like high school and college rings. You may not get as much as a thank you but you know you done the right thing. For the ones that do say thanks will make you all warm inside. The Best Chuck

Hi Cabin Fever I just wrote a story about a detector on the MX posting. The place this all happen I have found over that seventy gold, silver and junk rings Then I could walk and hunt this place without trouble but now they have a fence around it. This place is in a park and now they have stop all detecting. I never seen another detecting and I never left a hole uncovered. Who knows what's the thinking of the powers that be but that's way life is. Let the next gold ring come soon for you. They're out there you've got to spend the time looking. Chuck

Whites MX Sport Waterproof Metal Detector
Ridge Runner replied to Rick K - First Member's topic in White's Metal Detectors
I do believe that White's wants us treasure hunters to be a part of the new MX Sport waterproof detector. My reasoning behind this has been all the video's to show the progress of the MX coming to life. I don't know if they first plan all this exposure but I like it. With all I've seen so far I've got the hots to have one.Ha Of course I'm a lover of White's detector for over 45 years with my first BFO detector. This waterproof more so coin detector makes me going back in the past when I needed it. One of my sick rememberable times when I saw my White's 66 TR going under water. This was all seen as I fell and my detector goes flying followed by bubbles as it went under. Well as fast as I could put myself together I went diving for my not so waterproof detector. When it came above the water line I was one sick puppy to see all that water coming from it. The first thing I disconnected the batteries and then the coil with the shaft. I headed to my car and started it with the heater on hot and coming out at the floor of the car. With the battery door open and the hot air going I could only hope this would save it. Now I want you to know this is not a fairy tale but it did have a happy ending. Yes after a short time I got my detector put back together with the same batteries and I was back detecting. You may be wondering if I ever had trouble because of the fell swimming lesson I gave my detector. Well no and never did. Chuck -
Whites MX Sport Waterproof Metal Detector
Ridge Runner replied to Rick K - First Member's topic in White's Metal Detectors
It sounds so good to hear about White's new MX Sport and all the other detectors we'll see in 2016. I've had my eagle 2 from way back in 1991 and it has something I'd like to see on the new detectors of today. You had two spots on the face of it you could push to reject or accept. Pick what you wanted and wave the coil over the item them the deed was done. You didn't have to go into a program to make a change. I guess I'm one that wouldn't be happy if you hung me with a new rope. When White's said waterproof that was something I needed some years ago. I too need to move some toys to make room for the MX Sport. Chuck
