Auminesweeper My MX Sport was drop ship from White's on 3-14 and before it got out of town good the UPS truck was in a wreck. Because of that I didn't receive it until 3-22 evening. Well after hearing what was said here and my own air testing I box it up. I sent it off with UPS on 3-28 that morning. The trouble was White's didn't get it until 4-4 a Monday. Now with a turn around time of two weeks and I'm not sure if that's repair and ship are just repair time. At this time I've had it in my hands for a full 5 days. I just wonder how many on here did send their MXS in ? Just how many was happy like it is and didn't return it ? Chuck

Potomac run Well I hope you hear soon from White's. Did you track it so you knew they got it.? I'm wanting to hear more from people that sent their MXS in. The part I'd like to hear about what it was before and now after it comes back. I do hope all of us will be happy with the new program. Like said before I want this detector as a coin detector only. I've got others that will do other jobs for me I may need. Just let it be just as good as my eagle 11 if not better than it has for a number of years. Chuck

White's received my MX Sport today. What I'd like to know is does anyone know the turn around time on getting it fix and back ? I know distance could be a factor but give a day are two one way are another. Chuck

SDC trouble with battery compartment. ( never fixed ) 7000 paper thin coil cover and later a program update. Did you get a new coil cover ??? MX Sport New Program right away. ( they will get my MXS today ) Just maybe the quality control is not under control as it should be. Right now all I know I want my MXS back. I know out there is a treasure just waiting for me to find it. Me and Mel say the same each day THE DAY IS THE DAY. Well that's not so true anymore. It's more like it's cold maybe tomorrow.haha Chuck

This problem has been there from day one. I had the same trouble and with a fix of a business card between the batteries you were good to go. You were thinking the card you got with the SDC was just to let you know the dealer. Wrong.Haha I just never understand why Minelab went to C batteries. Oh will they didn't call me. Chuck PS On the positive side that SDC is one great detector.

GB I too have a SPP and I find it's a good PI detector. My question is don't you have enough coils with it ? If you see a puff of smoke it will too late but it's your cat and you can skin it like you want. Chuck

A friend has a set already and this is no joke. Before we start doing any kind of work he'll pull them out.. When I was working for the phone company I'd use them to find cable in the ground and they do work. If white's sells them they will have to pay a lot of us royalty. Good joke for April fools Day. Hi John and Brian Over the years I too have found coins where the soil around a copper coin will turn green. Another good one is in some soil I've hunted in all the clad coins won't have any silver left on them. That's just not one coin here and there but everyone if it's been there for awhile On the MX Sport I didn't put out money for it to be wrong. I like everything I see in this detector and when I get it back it has only to make me happy. When i get it back I will post another air test. To me the air test is less important than if it will lock on the target better. For the ones that the target ID jumps around to dig are not dig is up to me. I still say the best detector was when we had to dig all. That took away the wonder what that was I walk away from. John at my age of 75 come May I seen I'd say most.Haha Chuck

To me the odd thing is he's getting the same depth with the 10 inch as my air test did. My thinking are I believe that I should get better air test than in ground one. !0 inch Wheat cent 8 1/2 Memorial cent 8 1/2 Buffalo N. 10 Jefferson 10 Silver Dime 8 Silver Qt. 10 Clad Half 10 1/2 Remember he said about the signal jumping around. Well when you get within 1 inch of the detecting limit of the air test for each coin it did the same. Not just a number are two about are below your target ID but all the way to iron. Looking at the video and not seeing any trash is odd. I see this as a sell video. You dig on a iron signal and up comes a coin but never trash. I too may dig it after seeing what pop up while doing my air test. Chuck PS I have all my test written down so when I get the MXS back I can compare. Oh for what it's worth all depth posted was with a strong signal. I didn't go to the point of a hit and miss.

Let those that are happy be happy. Let us be happy after we get our detector back. My detector may( not really ) have more miles on it than I had when I drove to Alaska. I put on over 12 thousand miles on that one trip. What we'll do for that yellow metal. Chuck

I've said in the past same electronics same program same trouble.. Thinking back that is not totally true. You take the same electronic components from different companies may look and test the same . But then you build your circuit and all may work well and yet be a little different than the other. If some people are not having trouble could this be what makes the difference. The other thing is they just don't know what's correct in the detector they have. One would have to take a so call good one with one that's having trouble and compare everything about each. I would hope just maybe something could be found. I know and read here that people have other things they'd want White's to offer on their detectors. Other than working pushing voice and data through copper and then fiber for 35 years I had a trap line. Trapping I learn i couldn't skin but one cat at a time. Right now I want my MX Sport fixed and back in my hands. I'll jump on another problem after this cat is skint. Chuck

I have the 6 x 10 for the hot ground but I want a round 6 inch concentric for the not so hot ground. Let me back up. I need my MX Sport back first. Chuck

Hey Tboykin Every time you open your mouth I'm liking it more and more as time goes by..That will be great to have more coils that will fit the MX Sport. I just want to thank you for all the help we're getting up front and being our voice at White's. When can do let us know when other coils are available. I've always got a little money put back for another coil and just maybe a detector. Chuck

That is great for the ones as you say have lots of MXT coils. But I'm one of many that may not have any MXT coils. I myself would like one of the six inch round coils. I'd really like it to come from White's and the plug don't have to be waterproof but most coils are. In that way you could water hunt as long you didn't get too deep. Thanks for the post. It's been said that we don't have enough coils for the MXS and I agree. I know we have the 10 and the 6 x 10 DD plus the 9.5 concentric. The trouble is the 10 and the 9.5 gets too many targets under it at one time because of their size. For me I would be happy with one about 6 to 7 inch and let it be a concentric coil. I don't have to have it waterproof just to keep the price down. If I'm on the beach where it's easy digging that big coil is okay. Being we have someone from white's looking what's going on here I'd just throw this in too. I always told my kids it didn't hurt to ask being the most I could say was no. The only things I hate to see if the MX Sport has to be open up. You may want to give it the bath tub test when you get yours back and look for bubbles. The coil hookup could be part port to reprogram it. Best to all on the firmware update and let the detector gods shine down on it.haha First new coin detector in about 25 years. You would not believe how many gold detectors I've had in the last 5 years. The thing is coin hunting has always paid off for me more than gold detecting ever has. But I get all warm inside if I talk about nugget hunting. White's I thank you for the quick response and take good care of my baby. You should have it by Monday of next week. The White's dealer I have been dealing with for a long time e mail me. This guy wanted me to know he would help me in what ever I needed. I told him White's was going to take care of the problem but if the need I'd contact him. This is the kind of dealer you should be dealing you . That's why I keep going back to him.over and over again. I got my MXS going out tomorrow. Chuck

To All White's is willing to correct the problem so us see if it is fixed. I don't want my money back and I don't want another detector. I want the MXS up and running like it should. Why don't we just take care of all us number ones on here. I'm sure others will hear about this over time and do the same we'll all do Monday. ( ship it back ) It won't hurt if you do hear of someone having trouble with their MXS just tell what they need to know. If white's had a total recall and all went back at the same time think how long before you'd see the MXS again. Chuck

If you want to call this a funny thing well it is to me. I just got my detector this Tuesday of this week and done the air yesterday. I did complete the warranty card but haven't mail it yet. My detector was drop ship from white's direct to me. I guess I can just put the warranty card in the box when I send the detector back. Look at this in you paid less than 8 hundred for the detector and it will get fixed soon if not sooner. Now take your car you paid over 20 thousand and who knows how many people will get kill before the car company will do anything. i'd bet not one person will be hurt from the program being off. I know this is a bad bump in the road for us that waited so long for the MXS but if given time the pain will pass. I look at my Eagle 2 that I got in 91 and still works great and never had a problem. So until my MXS comes back I'll just have to sleep with my Eagle 2.The bull is getting deep. Chuck

Hi tboykin White's is a old detector company and a great one that has been around for a long time. I've had a White's detector in my hands from mid 60's. This is a problem that can be fixed but not for all of us over night. Just sit back and give them time to form a plan of action. The only thing I don't understand is how we here are the only people having trouble. If I was to go coin hunting now I'll take a detector I know and trust. Just on the air test it won't be MXS. You're right on a small coil in high trash area but some may want to fight it. Sometimes it takes a lazy man to find a easy way of doing things. haha Chuck
