  1. Talking about bodies a prospecting buddy lives in Oklahoma near Grand Lake. Anytime it would be a drowning on the lake they’d call on him to find it .Well on one of his dives he came across a babies bones all together. He notified the people who got him out but they didn’t show any interest and it’s still there as far as he knows. He said it was the sheriffs department he was dealing with. That’s sad no one cared enough to find out what may happen to it .
  2. That’s right we have broken Dam’s here in south Texas. A while back one of the Dam gates broke and when that happen they had to lower the river level. Now on the shallow side you can walk on dry ground . This took place about 15 miles above my home town of Seguin . The good thing they have lowered the river above and below Seguin for about give are take 15 miles. The River is called Guadalupe River and it was decided to repair all gates saying it could take maybe as long as three years to do so . Now here’s what one can expect to find is lot of anything to do with fishing gear. Along the way you will find several bridges going over it . This where people throw away things they want lost forever. I’d say the number one item would be a gun and who knows a body now & then. I’ll post pictures when I go back down there again and that will be next week. I want to scope out some of the better places to go in at. I’m not much on fishing anymore but at the time you won’t find me throwing anything away. I’ve found everything has value so waste not want not .haha Until then when ever that is . Chuck
  3. All together now It’s a rail plate for train rails. We so bright they have to cover our heads up to let the sun come up . Chuck
  4. Mike Do you really need to rent a ATV if you going to metal detect . Do they finish any transaction other than just from the airport? I’ve got to get my rear off this fence and do more than talk about going if I am . My wife is not in the best of health and that’s my first concern. Another is I got my eye on something and I can’t have it doing both. I knew I’d been better off being born rich than so good looking I could have bought anything. Hey John I said where in the Sam Hill is Tibooburra . Several years back I was going to take a trip down your way but after I found out how long the flight was and over all that water with me not being a good swimmer I said no. Thanks guys for your input. Chuck
  5. Your speaker hasn’t gone out but maybe it’s on the way out. Could have a crack in the speaker causing that what you hear. Get another person to check it out for you. That may be the best route first to take . Chuck
  6. If Nokta Makro was willing while they making the arm cuff they could make us a great stand at the same time. You can see bye my drawing of what I’m talking about. You can also see art was not my best subject. Bye making the stand they make now longer and turn out about 1 1/2 inch at 90 degrees would give us the stand we need. Chuck
  7. HerrUU I’d say your right on their stand being cheaper if I didn’t already have what I needed on hand. You take a look at their stand on what I see it would be in the way of you wanted to use the battery pack. That’s the reason I went to the trouble of making mine and true fully I never like the one they make. Chuck
  8. You and I are on the opposite end of the spectrum. If I make something and it don’t come out like I want I’ll trash it . I like all my ducks in a row and in this way I don’t quack 🦆 up. Chuck
  9. Digalicious Yes in a way you’re right but if I want to sell it down the road I can just cut the ties. It will bring me a better price without bubble gum and screw holes in it. I don’t fall in love with any detector because tomorrow I may sell it . Thanks for your reply. Chuck
  10. I believe just about every detector that out can’t stand upright and the Legend is no different than all the others. Everyone is worried about the cuff but not a word is every said about your detector falling over like a dead dog. The first thing I do to correct that problem before I venture out is make a stand. Below you will see some pictures of it before and after it’s finished. I show one of the type of paint I use . Part of the problem is keeping clear of where the battery pack would slide in. It may look like a bow legged Texan but it does the job it’s intended for . Chuck
  11. Before I put my foot in my mouth I went done a look see on this detector. I’d say the price takes me back to the 70’s but the technology is here today. With Minelab dropping detector prices every time you turn around and then come out with one that’s cheaper than dirt is only great for us the customer. Ok uncle George I’m waiting on you doing your thing on giving us a report on that there detector . Thanks ahead of time. Chuck
  12. I’m just wondering why Minelab is advancing to the rear . Chuck
  13. Klunker That’s great and just think if dredging hadn’t been stopped a lot of rivers could be clean again thanks to the dredger’s. Chuck
  14. Nathan Glad you made it here and I’m sure someone can help you here with just about anything. Both of us from the big T. and mine is central Texas. Let us hear from you on what you like best about this great hobby. Take care! Chuck
  15. The sale ended like you said for the legend and another detector also yesterday . The only problem I see is if you want the Lg 30 and want to sell the one that comes with the legend it’s worth less than a roll of toilet paper. All the talk is making the top half of the detector stand for the legend but never think about making the stand wider on the bottom .I’ve had to make a stand for every detector I’ve bought because the stand is so narrow every time I put it down it falls over like a dead dog . Here the legend is no different than all the others. Who knows maybe one day you buy just the detector for said price and then you buy the coils you want to go with it. Just something to think about. Chuck
  16. Somewhere are another I’ve said this before on here about Whites and if you had a Eagle and wanted to update it to a Eagle 2 White’s would do it. The cost was a 125.00 and as far as I know know that was the first time they done that. I don’t remember them ever doing that again. My Eagle 2 is still going strong and my TR 66 it as well but a friend has it. Chuck
  17. It’s sad not to know the greatest of someone until after they’ve gone. I wish I could express in words to ease the pain and the loss of their love one but I don’t believe that exist for anyone that has so much love for each other in a family. We pass this way but one time and I hope we too will be remembered equally as well. Chuck
  18. It’s odd for some it’s the accommodation and food portions but for me if I missed a few meals it wouldn’t hurt me. On the number of grams of gold is found you just don’t know how that’s going to come out. I remember one trip to Arizona after two weeks I couldn’t hold all the trash I found with both hands together. That trip not one fly speck of gold. The adventure of different everyday life has to be part of your trip. To answer a question is yes I’m thinking about going there this year. I’ve got to get my rear in gear if I am going. The down side I’ll be going it alone so I know zero people when I get there. I thank each of you for your reply be it good bad are indifferent. To me one week is a short time to be there but more than that gets costly. If I’m going I’ll let you know and do the same when I get back. My five pounds of gold I find may really be five grams with a true weight. I can’t help myself being from Texas. Chuck
  19. I hadn’t looked at the price for detecting but I be dog gone they’ve gone up a hundred. My biggest problem now is my wife don’t want me doing what I’ve been doing alone for years. Thanks guys for any reply . Chuck
  20. I’ve been to Nome before and the lower part of Alaska but never been to AKAU Resort. The last time I went to Alaska I put over 12 thousand miles on that cargo van before I got home. I know a while back someone said they were going sometimes this year to this resort but I’m hoping someone has been there on here before. Of all things my wife is telling me I need to go but when I ask if she is going to pay for it she says you got the money. You would think if she really wanted to get me out of town she should be willing to fit the bill. Please let me hear from you if you been there . Chuck
  21. Has anyone here had the Legend out nugget hunting? If so what coil was you using? Chuck
  22. I started with a metal pan just like that back in 61 . The pans we have today is only way to go because of the ruffles being the metal ones didn’t have any. The shaking back and forth is called stratification. A big word for a simple thing to do. Chuck
  23. GotAU I know nothing about killing a skunk but I can tell how to keep them from smelling. First thing you do is run up to one and grab it by the tail but be sure to lift it off the ground fast. If you do this like I said he won’t spray you and then put a clothespin on its nose this will stop it from smelling. Be sure you read over my instructions because this is something you don’t want to get wrong. Chuck
  24. A little of something is better than a lot of nothing. No matter how small the gold is it’s still gold. Bird in hand is better than two in bush. One more Never leave gold to find gold. GotAU? maybe one of my statements will ease your pain. Chuck
  25. Slad74 Glad to have you here from central Texas but I was hatched in Union Mississippi. You will find a bunch of great people here that is willing to help you at the drop of a hat . I come from a long line of stump jumpers. The Best! Chuck
