  1. Norm...MPOW IS the manufacturer. They made a mistake in advertising Low Latency. They were NOT knockoffs! Their products are excellent...but they made a significant mistake on the specifications they advertised for these headphones. Other than no Low Latency, the headphones are really awesome.
  2. I could do that too when my 800 arrives, but my 600 and 800 will be separated by about 1600 miles! The 600 will be my Space Coast, FL machine (our permanent home), and the 800 will be with me in Oklahoma, or wherever my wife is stationed after that. Trials and tribulations of military life! LOL! Needed another set of ears for the 600.
  3. UPDATE! MPOW now confirms that the H4 headphones are NOT Low Latency! What a mess! From MPOW today: Thank you so much for not being angry with us and thanks for your patience as well. Finally, our QC and PM confirmed that this model do not support aptx LL, support aptx though, so i am really sorry for making your customers misunderstood the product. as you can check now, we have removed the low latency from our listing as well as the title. As for the second version, we are not selling yet, have no idea if amazon are selling the updated version or not. I also noticed that you have closed the dispute, so could you please tell us what solution you want us to offer? we will try our best to meet your satisfaction, because it's our duty, we made this mistake. waiting for your reply!Autumn
  4. No it does not. It comes with a set of wired phones. That being said, it is capable of Bluetooth Low Latency wireless pairing with appropriate headphones. The Equinox 800 comes with multiple wireless option headphones.
  5. They came directly from the manufacturer. Their design, and well known company. Not knockoffs, but also not what was advertised.
  6. So after my hassle with the MPOW's, and the continuing effort to get a full refund for the advertised Low Latency, but actually non-LL headphones, I went online and started researching. I was already aware of the BT80's, Tronds, and other APTX LL headphones, but I dug deeper. What I found was the ArchMage SoundClean-09 headphones that were a lot cheaper than the others, and had excellent reviews. I was certainly skeptical, but figured "what the hell", and ordered the readily available headphones from Amazon for $45.00 shipped (Prime). They arrived today, and I was fully expecting a repeat of the MPOWS as far as pairing was concerned. My worries were unfounded! The SoundCleans paired quickly with my 600 and with the LL "+" symbol. Awesome start! Ran the detector over some coins and the lag was virtually non-existent. Sound was very clean and precise. Music sounds great too! Microphone built in, with cell capabilities, as well as the song manipulation features of more expensive units. Avalable in black or mint green. The controls are not on par with the MPOWS, or others that have very palpable buttons, and there is no cover on the USB charging port, but for $20+ dollars less than competing headphones, I'm ecstatic. The headphones are close, but not quite full ear covering, and are extremely comfortable and without hot spots that would cause issues after a few hours. Even better is the TRUE almost 50 hours of operation after a full charge. (4 hours from fully discharged). The instructions are clear, and the company is apparently very Customer Service oriented. The warranty includes a "no questions asked" money-back return guarantee and a 12-month extended warranty. True APTX LL capability for a great price! Includes a nice carrying case that fits the rotating earpieces well to fit. Wired connection and charging cable included, along with some marketing incentives. The head band is very comfortable and adjustable for big heads...like mine! Lots of very positive reviews on Amazon and elsewhere, as well as a number of YouTube videos reviewing the phones! I have found MY wireless solution to the APTX LL dilemna for the 600! https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0774YGR61/ref=twister_B07CH9B339?_encoding=UTF8&th=1 Cheers, Frank
  7. See my new thread on the Archmage SoundClean-09 headphones. True APTS LL and inexpensive! http://www.detectorprospector.com/forum/topic/6474-archmage-soundclean-09-headphones-excellent-aptx-ll-ears/
  8. Customer Loyalty! That's a HUGE factor when a dealer wants to keep customers coming back to them! Also there's always the issue of competition.
  9. Phrunt, That is exactly what I've been doing! Here's the latest response from MPOW. They seem eager to please. a d: hey friend, i am sorry for this, we are contacting with the QC apartment to confirm it again, could you please tell us if your phone support aptx LL, because if your phone do not support, then this cannot function as well. Please do not worry, we are checking the problem as well. Honestly speaking, you are not the only one met this problem. so we are taking measures to solve this already, could you please do not be angry for now? My Response: Hi, First, let me say that the design of the H4 is exceptionally good. Very comfortable and sound quality is excellent. Unfortunately, the headphones will NOT pair with A2DP coding for Low Latency. Furthermore, on Amazon I notice that there are two versions of the H4, with an "upgraded" version as well as the standard H4. If this is the case, there may be some confusion over what was sent to me, and I may have received the wrong model. I did not purchase the headphones for use with a cell phone, or TV. We are using high-end metal detectors with APTX LL wireless capability, and it works well without issues with Trond, Miccus, BT80, and other APTX LL headphones. If APTX LL is not paired, it reduces to the lower Bluetooth level, which has approximately a 130ms latency. This is not acceptable for our needs. We MUST have true Low Latency in order for the unit to work for our use. I know that new technologies have bugs and quirks, but we can't be the testing source. MPOW makes some very nice products, and we have just ordered another of your products (Car cell phone stand), and we expect that it will be well-designed and exactly what we wanted. That being said, the headphones are still an issue that needs to be resolved, one way or the other. Thank you for your continued attention to this matter. Cheers, Frank
  10. To each, his own. My position is that Minelab has been extraordinarily supportive by offering the 15% discount through their dealer network. The fact that Cabella's refuses to honor that discount is telling. They don't even take inventory. All their orders are drop shipped. No skin off their backs, but the people Minelab is honoring have plenty of skin off theirs. " nuff said.
  11. Supposedly From Minelab's website: (TreasureNet post today)An important update on the Detect Modes… Previously we have stated that Park, Field and Beach would run in multi-frequency and that Gold would only use the single frequencies of 20kHz and 40kHz, giving better results for gold nugget hunting. Our ongoing collaborative field testing feedback from around the world has resulted in further improvements to Multi-IQ to the point where multi-frequency is now the best option for Gold Mode as well, and will be the default setting. Please refer to the revised Getting Started Guide for updated product functions. Caveat: I found this on TreasureNet, and I can't validate its authenticity, but sounds about right. This could be from early testing because I can't find the source on Minelab's site.
  12. I agree with Customer Service at Minelab. I've had to call them twice in the last week, and both times they were incredibly diligent in either getting an answer to me, or making arrangements for a product return next week. (My receipt is in the other house for my Pro-Find, and I need it to send it to Minelab)
  13. Just got this back from Minelab: Hi Frank, I have received a response from one of our engineers. Here is what he had to say: I do not believe the problem is with the detector. The same circuitry is used in the Equinox to perform aptX LL coding and transmission as that which provides standard BT audio connectivity. If the Equinox is successfully paired with an aptX LL compliant device, then aptX LL coding is implemented at transmission. If the Equinox is paired with a non-aptX LL device, then standard BT audio is implemented at transmission using A2DP coding. If the fault was internal to the Equinox, then I would expect no BT connection at all. I’m not personally familiar with the Mpow H4 headphones. I would ask Frank if he is certain the headphones are H4 aptX Low Latency as I see a few variations online. He could also try the headphones on any other Equinox – perhaps a friend or a dealer machine. I would expect the same results as he is getting with his Equinox; no BT+ icon displayed. This would indicate the headphones are not aptX LL.M Pretty convinced that the MPOW H4's...at least the one I got, is NOT fully aptX LL Compliant.
  14. I could have had my 800 long before this, if I had been willing to buy from Cabella's. I won't because they refuse to honor Minelab's Awesome Military Discount. They apparently think it's too much of a pain to deal with the paperwork. I think many of us may have been through too much of our own pain on their behalf in the military to give my business to a company that thinks that way about the military and vets! Too much of a hassle??? Pffft! I'll continue to wait for my dealer, who is a strong supporter of the military and vets! Just saying...
  15. They have severe lag when paired to the 600 on Bluetooth only. Definitely NOT LL paired.
  16. The headphones don't have that feature referenced in the manual. Double blinking blue light while paired, and voice confirmation is what I experience while paired in Bluetooth Non-LL. Phrunt, What does your headphones led indicate while paired LL on the 800?
  17. That has been my experience as well. I just hold if off to the side for a moment and return to target.
  18. Thanks Phrunt. I want to make sure it's not the 600 before I create a dispute. That being said, I will keep that option open. It may, in fact, be a problem with the Equinox, not the headphones. I need to find someone with a pair of Apple Air Pods to test those with the Nox.
  19. I really want these to work. They are incredibly comfortable and the volume controls are perfectly placed. I'll call Minelab in the morning and see if they can troubleshoot. Otherwise, it's back to China and the crappy English speaking folks there. (Not their fault, but difficult to explain the problems if necessary) I did follow page 56 to the letter, along with the H4 instructions. Pairing did exactly what the manual said it would, but only connected to Bluetooth...and wow, that lag is unacceptable!!
  20. My headphones arrived, and I fully charged them. Followed the directions for pairing with the 600. It pairs, but only to the basic Bluetooth symbol. I cannot pair to the Low Latency + symbol, and it clearly has some very discernable latency. I have no idea how to figure out whether it's the headphones or the 600 which is not pairing to full APTX LL. I need help! Any ideas? I tried Factory Reset on the 600 three times, and reset the pairing function on the headphones a number of times. No joy.
  21. I'll have much more to share on this subject tomorrow. My MPOW H4 APTX LL Headphones are on the USPS truck for delivery today after their long journey from China! (ordered April 12th) I'll get 'em charged up this afternoon, and hunt with them tomorrow morning. Really looking forward to cutting the cord! Charging is done by USB on BOTH ends. No proprietary connection required. Two-hour charging for 30-hours use. Palpable buttons for ease of use. Dual connection to detector and phone. More later.
  22. My guess is that we are not very likely to see third party coils for the Equinox due to extreme patents and intellectual property rights that Minelab clearly owns for these detectors. They are going to want to hold tight on any release or licensing to keep the other companies at bay for as long as possible.
  23. The only issue I've had with the On/Off switch is that it is nearly impossible to use while wearing a glove. Other than that, it hasn't really been an issue. I think the size and position of the button may be by design to assure that it is not accidentally pressed. It takes a dedicated, purposeful action to use it. I actually prefer it that way, and don't find a reason that it would get heavy use as was alluded to in an earlier post. It would be a completely different story if one of the face buttons was difficult to use, or not working properly. You turn it on, and hours later, you turn it off. Maybe a FP reset now and then, but let's face it, it is the most seldom used button on the detector.
  24. You might want to look at the very first topic on this forum. (Equinox Essential Information). You only need to press the Submit Button ONCE!
