So, did you do any ankle to knee deep hunting in the water? That is one deserted beach for sure!! Nice finds. GaryC/Oregon Coast

Great Trip! So I assume you were snorkeling or submerged with your Equinoxes? GaryC/Oregon Coast

Joe,
Is this now over your head, depth wise? Super ring!

Looks like you've been in a burn pile and it's melted aluminum. Just my two cents worth. It would help if you noted what other objects you found with it or where you were hunting. GaryC/Oregon Coast

OK, OK, I did not see where you figured in the "Border Crossing" Payment! Surely it was not smooth sailing?
Nice post and story!! GaryC/Oregon Coast

Your beaches/treasure holes give up an incredible amount of unusual and unending array of beautiful and unique pieces. You are the right man in the right spot. Do you ever cash in? GaryC/Oregon Coast

What's your competition like, with that chilly water and air temps? Can't be too many souls willing to do what you do! GaryC/Oregon Coast

I'm the 73 year old kid on the Oregon Coast who in no way in h-ll will ever pay for this thing by finding enough gold in ten years but still wants one to play with! Like Skate says, I'm the only one who's going to know if it works for me or not. If I don't like the damn thing I'll sell it. GaryC/Oregon Coast

Metal detectors like aluminum! the bane of all detectorists! Cheap and very effective. Epoxy it to the lid. GaryC/Oregon Coast

Taking a picture other than against glass would be helpful. Maybe against a black background. GaryC/Oregon Coast

Ridge Runner had the same fix I had to do on an X-Terra 70 and 705. Both times when I got those detectors they cut out on me the same way. They don't have slide in battery packs but did have weak springs keeping the batteries from making good contact. GaryC/Oregon Coast

Warranty & Customer Service is going to be more important than price, especially on initial release. Bugs and failures are going to appear and quick turn around on parts and repairs are going to pay huge dividends in the long run. Just my opinion. Where is the factory repair facility? Your beach search hours were right in line with mine when I hunted So Cal beaches. Nice coin finds! GaryC/Oregon Coast

Welcome to the Forum! I especially like this quote
"You should also see if you can find any mining history in your area", especially where your creek runs.

I can see Luis's point about it falling and doing some damage. Like setting against the truck while getting ready and it slides along the fender hitting the ground! I know, that's going to be my problem (because I've done it dozens of times before) and I now know of it up front, but just saying he does have a point. Wish that earphone cable wasn't coming straight out the back, but maybe doing a 90 degree angle to take the pressure off the wire. Not complaining, just observing here. Thanks all for the on going questions. GaryC/Oregon Coast

Did it come with a coil cover? How about an instruction booklet or is that online? Thanks, for being the go to guy on this. GaryC/Oregon Coast.
