  1. Very nice, that big coil seems to be doing a good job alright.
  2. That little module is great, that's all I use with my own phones... just like yourself.
  3. Good luck George, look forward to your finds and report.
  4. A big mistake in my eyes, they will probably offer a module at an extra price in the future.
  5. I have always owned and recommended Minelab machines, but not anymore...there just taking people for a ride. The cheapest of there new machines has the most and best size coils available, cmon....
  6. What a ripper of a find, congratulations.
  7. That is a really nice Buckle, I would be very pleased with that.👍
  8. Good choice Cliff, yes mate I would update it to 0.71 before you play with it, that way you wont come across that bug as mentioned. Good luck mate, have a look at Gary's videos on YouTube, he has some great info on programs and settings.
  9. I think he may be using the new update, those tones sure sound different...I like😀

Cool Rick, I have knocked mine off the arm a few times and it holds well.
  11. I actually went the other way, I have the 9 and 11, I don't mind the 11 it works great here for bigger parks with less contamination. Good on the beach, but the 11 x 13 would be better if I was a full time beach hunter.
  12. Very nice ring great find, I like your settings thanks for posting them. I have been experimenting with notch as well, it certainly a good feature to have when required.
  13. When I get a 1 or 2 with the 800 I always get a bit excited. The Equinox is renowned for throwing up those numbers for some types of Gold Jewelry as seen in F350 post. If you look at my profile pic that small nugget that you see on the end of the coil came in as a 1 as well.

I use nylon fishing line, its either 50 or 100lbs, with a button attached at each end of the line to make a loop. Then slip the velcrose through it and around the shaft and you have yourself a nice cheap reliable system. I have tested it on a number of occasions and it just hangs there....bit crude but works well.
  15. Thanks Chase, I haven't been through the manual for a while, but all good info right there. As the saying goes: " All Good things come to those who wait” is an English proverb. It's used to describe the benefits of waiting patiently rather than rushing into something. By waiting, one, in theory, increases their chances of something good happening to them."
  16. Thanks Gary for keeping us updated and for the tip, will be heading out again on the weekend so will give that a whirl.
  17. What a great idea, this type of setup will work for me as well.... I don't go in deep on the beach, just on the waters edge and maybe a foot or so under at times. I have been using my 800 on the beach for this reason.
  18. I see the ground balance slowness here as well, it is just dog slow to settle on a number. Would be nice to be able to set it manually like the D1. I see Mono mode has adjustable ground balance...just wish the M/F programs did as well.
  19. Nice video, I watched it last night and again today, I wonder if he is testing the new update, those tones sound very crisp and no settings were really shown on camera.
  20. Just goes to show how being in a different part of the world and the soils all having different levels of minerals in the ground can make a huge difference to how we read our machines differently.
  21. In Australia our dirt is severely mineralized were ever you go detecting. Some places are worse than others, but most times its just bad. I run my iron volume on 1, I can still hear it just fine, would hate to lose a deep little squeaker being drowned out by a piece of iron nearby, that may be the find of a lifetime.
  22. I spotted this on another site, hopefully it was just misuse by the user but that's unknown I suppose.
  23. Great write up Abenson, thanks for your thoughts and detailed tests on the 900 v 800.
  24. They came up a treat strick, lovely finds and a top job cleaning them up.
  25. I must do a small video one day, just running the coil through the aluminum and tabs listening for those coins to pop out in full tones. Being higher in value, there what most people like to find in our neck of the woods. Both the Australian 1 and 2 dollar coins ring up between 85-88 mostly, I pretty much always come home with 4 or 5 dollars in my pocket, sometimes a little more as most of them are no more than 2 to 3 inches under the ground. That maybe why the D1 does so well in this situation as its not as deep as the D2.
