Thanks Abenson! I thought I had all the settings set but I missed the audio profile. 

Has anyone noticed that the high conductor program is less in volume on all targets than the low conductor program? Maybe it just my machine?

I adjusted all settings to be the same. Thanks for checking. Use the speaker. 

The Manticore doesn’t have a user program like the NOX, or am I missing something? It has only a favorite that is just a copy.

Nope, the 3-way cable only has + and - power leads but no data leads built into it. That's why you need a standard USB cabe with both power and data wires in it.

 

Thanks, I don’t know anything about cables, so if I get a generic USB cable any one would work? Doesn’t have to be from XP. 

Can you use the three way charging cable to update the headphones instead of the single cable? 

I also saw somewhere $500 and Minelab doesn’t include the lower shaft like XP does. 

If you set the discrimination to say 2 or 10. What does it matter if your just coin shooting?   

It is a nickel machine. I would have VDI 59 open also.  

Pitch works well on the west coast beaches also. We have lots of black sand. Haven’t been out to the beach too much but summer and the crowds are coming. 

I posted a few questions about the Deus 2 before I bought one.  My worries and questions about comparing the Deus to the Equinox have been answered great by this forum, ( I think Chase explains thoroughly) but most of all just me using the Deus. Between reading your forum and the user manual the Dues 2 seemed complicated. It’s not a scary as I thought. 

Thanks so much Chase, perfect for my weak mind to understand. I went out today for my third time with my Deus 2 and found a 10k 1.36 gram gold ring. VDI 49-50😀. The Deus is going to have a long learning curve for me. 

On the Deus 2 if I don’t want dig anything below VDI 30 and don’t want to hear iron what is better, discriminate to 30 or notch till 30 and turn iron volume to 0. Will the detector find things the same that are above VDI 30?   I know I will miss things that might come in below 30. Thanks for the previous post.  With this wording hopefully my question will be more clear but the other answers helped me a lot. I don’t know if I should have posted this on the previous post or started a new thread. 

Can someone explain discrimination on the Deus 2.   Why is factory setting at 10, 6.4, etc.  VDI number 30 on the Deus seems to match the Equinox at 0 ( I think). So why not set the discrimination to 30 on the Deus? Thanks 

On the Deus 2 if I just wanted to cherry pick silver coins vdi 90 and above, which is better , to notch till 89 or discriminate to 89?  Pros and cons or just use two tones, tone 1 to 89 and tone 2 to 99.  Thanks

Will the Deus 2 have a volume control for each frequency of sound? So you can have a different volume for each tone break. 

Thanks everyone, perfect answers.  I knew about Indian Heads and one of my biggest gold rings came in as a zinc. Some of the parks I hunt in just have too many zincs and pull tabs so I give up on number 14 also. I’m trying to learn about the Deus 2 before it arrives whenever that might be.😀

On the Equinox you can notch out the zinc cents without missing the dimes.  Can the Deus 2 do that?  

The Equinox has an all metal mode or a user profile that takes one push of a button to check questionable targets. (With all metal or a different frequency) Will the Deus 2 have anything similar?  Do you have to go through a long set of functions?  Thanks from a future XP newbie.

If you mean that the nox and deus II ring up the same number on the same item, then no.  The vdi scale on the nox goes from -9 to 40.  The vdi scale on the deus II goes from -6.4 to 99.  (If I’m remembering correctly)

Thanks NCtoad. The first part of your answer is what I needed. The Deus is like a foreign language to me but I’m going to get one and learn it. 

Does the Deus 2 share the same vdi numbers on the different programs like the Equinox does in multi ?

Does that apply if your just changing frequencies also?

Does anyone know what the difference is between park one and field one as far as algorithms?  If all the settings such as recovery, iron bias, etc. are set the same  what would be the difference?
