  1. The only reason  he was there that day was he was meeting new member Michael  here in   Rochester to take him to a different park since he is  new to the area and this spot was easy     for them to meet.Michael showed up a little while  later and said in 40 years of detecting he  never has seen a ring that big found in gold. So   we have  to give Steve H. a assist on this great find with  his great forum.

  2. My  friend who had one of  his worst   years  ever with his F75 finally took my advice and bought a Nox.He stopped by my house and showed me his gold ring which  topped out at 25.3 grams at 10k with a  weird design on  it's fat head. You can see it on  friendly metal detecting forum under eye popping finds and his name their Ramer. He might be a member here under relic ray but I don't know if he has posted anything yet.I have never seen a ring that heavy before found by a  metal detector around here.

  3. I think the FBS are more tuned to  the Lower frequencies.I have a AT gold  and it found a lot of silver at a ghost pier with a lot of nails with  the stock coil.I hunt mostly in places with aluminum   trash and that is where FBS machines do good. The Nox is no slouch too in those areas. Does 5kz on your Mk call bottle caps coins ? My 3kz. Xterra call  6''pull tabs coins and that can be a problem in parks. In areas where I am digging more  (schools)it is no big deal since I have dug gold rings thinking they were  coins because of the up averaging.

  4. I would give the Nox a 10  too in it's short career because it can keep up with the FBS machines. They     both may have advantages over each other in certain situations.I see Raphis and his buddy  Jamflicker both  kicking butt. Raphis now with his Nox and Jamflicker with his FBS machine.I  bet the next Minelab will top   both those machines.I also wonder how good  the V3i would be now if  they were more devoted to improving it.

  5. Since it seems FBS machines have found the most silver coin in the last 20 years by a wide margin we will give  them a 10 for all around silver coin   hunting. For those who have used it what would you give the V3i from 0-10.And just for kicks the AT PRO too.I would give the X -  terra 70 with the 10"7.5 kz. coil a 7.5 out of 10 for silver coins.I never used the AT PRO or  V3i.  I would give the X-terra 70 with the 9''concentric coil at 7.5 kz. only a 5.It struggled in trashy areas. With it's 9'' 18.75 kz. only a  2.5 and the 9'' 3kz. coil   a 6  since  both also  struggled in the trash where most coins  hide. This is for my  ground and  mostly for parks since that is what i hunt most.

  6. There are spots in the Finger Lakes that probably have a lot of gold in them but finding those spots which could be buried in hundreds of feet of gravel would be almost impossible plus would not be allowed in that region.Seneca lake is over 600 feet deep and they don't know how much material to bedrock.  There is a article in a old treasure magazine of a man in the  1800's who after many years of looking found a deposit that made him very rich. This was in  Northern Pennsylvania.

  7. I know they exist because i I found a 1.3 grain piece south of buffalo panning. I heard of a 1.6 gram piece found with  dredge in the Finger lakes region.I talked to a  geologist in  Buffalo who was sifting glacier material in a certain  spot and found a nugget big enough to have in his wallet. He  did not have it with him  at the  time because he was just walking his dog.I did find a .5 grain piece with my AT gold checking all the material that was  around  my pan from all the cracks we had cleaned.I would have not got it if i did not have my machine since  there was to much sand blocking it from view.I guess  that could be counted a tailing pilings piece since I was competing with a buddy in all those cracks.

  8. In Tot  lots or turf the 6" coil is much better then the 11'' coil for small gold. The 11" coil is great for most coin hunting situations.I have not used the  6'' in the water yet.I wonder if the Nox can use a concentric coil.If it can it would be interesting to see what it can do with one.

  9.  I have used a Garrett since 2005 and 2020 is the only year  I did not use one since my first  purchase.I have made many  good  finds with my  AT gold and  my Infinium. I used the Nox 99% of the time and my GMX the rest of the time in 2020  .  The AT GOLD is a splendid fresh water machine for gold. The infinium is a machine where you have to  know  which spots to use it.
