  1. Way to go Joe.Any silver rings ?It was nice being tied with you on the gold count for a couple days.
  2. Hi Michael.I will try to get hold of you soon. You can hunt with me and a few of my buddies. What town do you live in ? I live in the Greece/Charlotte area.Maybe we can meet in Durand soon.Look it up. It has a beach and a lot of woods to hunt.I have got 5 silver so far in this short year.Clad Hopper got a AU split band 1924 merc,a 1919-s merc plus a regular merc and a washington quarter.I went out 1 more time then him.I also got a 1940 bird band. All at durand.I use a Nox 800 and so does Clad hopper.
  3. With all the good hunters in southern California having good coverage might help you get your share of the goodies.
  4. If they put the ATX in the Infinum box and charge $999 they would probably sell a good amount of them. All types of hunters would go for it.
  5. I never used the 15'' coil but i used a 3 by 18"clean sweep on my Bandito on a 800 by 80 yard beach after busy weekends and liked the coverage. It found me a 3/4 ounce 18 k chain so it owes me nothing. That coil is built like a brick.I would like one for the Nox.A fresh drop treasure gulping coil it would be.
  6. Congrats on getting a dime on the first day of the year. You are on the silver board for 2021.Me and my 2 buddies went out on a county park area today and all of us got 1 silver.I got a deep worn 1929 😃 merc and one 1 buddy got a Washington quarter and the other a silver Rosie.I got mine by the road too.
  7. We average about a 100 inches a year so it is a bonus if we can go out this time of year .I have to do something about my goose egg silver count for year. How many of you have detectable ground today Good luck.
  8. I have been lucky with my Nox. I have had it under the water for many hours with no problems .I cut a piece of a pool noodle and put it between the pod and the arm cuff so it stays upright and never goes to deep.A foot and a half submerged tops with it being under mostly about 10 inches or less.I have had it under about a foot deep for at least 5 hours many times too in a certain lake.
  9. My friend Tony , Who made Grave-Digger max a titanium scoop found a titanium Tiffany ring.
  10. You must have your own field of dreams there in Iowa.Great hunting.I have over 100 coins to and I could not get even 1 seated even though my buddy Clad Hopper has 2.
  11. When I hip mounted the machine in the water the coil seemed to go bad much faster then having it taped tight to the machine.Taping it made it much more stable.I wonder if Garrett would replace The infinum since they don't make it anymore with a ATX at a discount price?
  12. I Hope you get a gold Tiffany next.In 20 years i have gotten 3 silver ones.A ring in the water,A chain with pendent in the dry sand and a chain with pendent in the turf.I have not got one in about 5 years. My friend has about 3 too.He also got a dry sand trifecta.Gold ,Platinum and silver in 1 day.He is the only one I know who has done it on the dry sand.
  13. If Minelab comes up with a Flagship Nox/CTX type machine what are you willing to pay since you could get a Nox 800 for $899, and cheaper for those who served the military. It would be tough for me to get one if it's much over $1500.
  14. I talked to my buddy Tony and he said I could use his Ctx anytime since he does not use it anymore and the only time he really goes out is with me.He hates the cold but it seems that is when he does the best so i call him Iceman this time of year. He uses the Nox now.I have used it a few times and did well with his settings.
  15. I have not used mine since I got the Nox but the last time I used it I found 3 gold in the big lake. This machine does really well in spots on the Great lakes where black sand from wave action could be hiding the gold.
  16. i remember our Steve doing a article on finding coins on a pounded Alaska beach that was a little hot because of it's sand.He did well pulling some tough coins out that were missed by a vlf machine but found with pulse machines .I bought the weaker Garrett Infinium and did well on old coins missed by other machines in my beach on Lake Ontario that had a little black sand mixed with the tan sand.Get a big shovel and dig the low /high hits .It was fun.
  17. Tom from California is always telling us about all are easy east coast large cents. It seems that 1 of 3 coins those California relic spot hunters find is worth over a hundred bucks. It pays to do research there.
  18. One of the things talked about is a 100kz. setting with it's own specific coil for it in a carpet of nails type hunting situation which should interest relic hunters. They might be trying to put multi IQ tech in a CTX type machine also.Time will tell.
  19. Tom D. on his forum described the Nox as a mid price/ mid line machine, he said to think of the new machine as flagship. That to me seems much better.I could be wrong but he is involved with this future machine.
  20. I found a lot of great things with my X-terra including all 7 of my Jesuit rings plus most of my turf gold and tot lot gold.I never got to try a 3kz. dd coil and I am thinking of getting the 7" dd mars coil called the lion.
