  1. I think they just buried a bunch of treasure in Michigan. This is a different guy who is a just retired jewelry man.
  2. In 2006 me and my friend after a bulldozer cleared a path in the woods in a park that we happen to stumbled on piles of silver coins that were all over the place and even in the pond next to the path he created. We found over 1200 that were mostly mercs and rosies with no key dates. We found some more the years after .We picked them up like popcorn on the surface.i think it was in the best finds magazine in 2007 titled silver in the rough by Curt Roe.I hope you all can find at least one pile of coins like this in your detecting adventures.
  3. Great find .I would say 10 grams=a honker and 15 grams= a giant honker like those giant Canadian geese. You came very close to that and those are rare.Did you ever get a ring over 15 grams and do you ever see bull sharks in the bay since low salinity does not bother them or murky water.
  4. If any of you like history google the expedition of Denonviile or Seneca indians and Jesuits. It should lead to information about a event in this land that most never heard of.
  5. I usually test the Gmx on the lo setting for the tiny targets since it hits better.I just wanted to see how it would do on mid setting for rings.I might bury it at 9 inches and compare settings since at this depth it might matter more.I wonder what setting steve uses in his ground since he uses a low setting on his gold bug 2 in hot ground if that is a sat setting on that machine.
  6. I tried the infinium with 8 " mono and in all directions it gave me a nice and tight high-low hit that says dig me.This is the signal infinium hunters like to hear.
  7. I tried the Nox on this target in pk1 first with sens. at 20 and it gave me a mixed signal in multi freq. with normal swing. If a lifted the coil a bit and swang it tightly back and forth the signal gave me a better signal with pretty good id. My Coil control was important here.In pk 2 multi freq. and sens. at 20 the signal was much better with solid id plus a little room to spare. In gold 2 mode multi freq. mode with sens. at 20 it pounded this target with great id with a few inches to spare. In 20 and 40 kz at 24 sens both hit it very hard with up average id.
  8. I buried the left Jesuit ring at about 7" and Trying the GMX first with the 6" coil with 10 sens. boost 2 and SAT in mid setting this machine hit it very good with at least a couple inches to spare in all angles. It gave wrap around numbers of very low or very hi numbers.I would did this nice zip signal.
  9. The iron grunt on the ATGold will drive you nuts in nails at its volume level after a while.
  10. What is the score so far on gold.Tarsacci-2 AQ-0?
  11. If you go water hunting and you find a stone with a hole in it keep it since it is probably an Indian fishing weight they used.
  12. Yes it is that big.The 6" coil on the Gmx does better then the Infinium with 8'' coil on that deep target. My buddy found one about the same in the dry sand.I found a 100 gram 10k rapper medallion before too. IT is In the 2006 Garrett catalog.
  13. Those are great finds Rick. My friend took a other guy to the spot and he found a French ax from that era too.In 1687 the French made war on the Seneca Indians and burnt the village the rings were found in .The Rochester museum has many finds since they sifted a nearby area .They have a silver cup the Jesuits used and many rings. There are other villages where those rings were found too.
  14. That band looks solid in how it was made.Just a average day for you with 2 gold.My friend Tony would have stroke if he found 2 gold in a day in the water. He has not seen yellow in the scoop since 8/2015. He does not go in the water to often. You would like silver more if it came out like it does in nice black dirt then in the brine.Do you ever freshwater hunt?
  15. If you are hurt and can't dig like a dog the nox is the machine you want.Dig solid signals and you should do good.
  16. I am not good at computers but if you want to see story it was in friendly metal detectors-stories and finds 5/2/2016 and one a couple days later by my friend Ramer( his name on friendly)If you could link it I would be grateful . It was the first time we hit that spot(private).
  17. I have found 7,and a friend found 1 1/2. They are about 2 grams .To get these targets location is everything.6 hit like a nickel and the other under a nickel. hit.
  18. I tried the infinium today on this target with the dirt much drier and more compact and I get nothing.
  19. I tried the infinium with 8 " mono and it hit it good in all directions but in each direction the center of the target was different .That is strange.
  20. With all you hear on the internet I am surprised someone didn't say AL Gore.
  21. It will probably be a big seller because of their marketing and because it's MF. I wonder how much Minelab is in this machine with Garrett putting some of their tech. in it too.
  22. I tried the Nox with the 11" coil in Pk1 first and it hit it very good with not much room to spare to get good id which was the proper12-13 numbers. It Hit good in both directions.I then tried pk2 and it was a stronger hit with more room to spare.I used sens. 20 in both modes.I then put gold 2 mode multi mode at 20 sens and it pounded the target with steady id of mostly 13 which is proper. In 20 kz at 24 sens. it hit hard with up average id in lower 20's.In 40 kz.at 24 sens it hit very hard with up average id around the 17 mark. This machine on this target and that coil does great to superb on this target.
  23. I grabbed my 8.5 gram,15/16 of an inch long ,6mm wide platinum ring I found and buried it on edge where the top of the edge is about 6'' . I grabbed the Gmx with the 6inch concentric coil and facing the edge it gave me a nice zip with room to spare,When I went with the edge the signal was about the same. The ID was in the upper 90's or near zero which seems like wrap around numbers. If you are brave and take your Gmx in the water I would dig this signal in better jewelry swim spots with not to much junk(nice roped areas) I used mid SAT setting on test.ID is around nickel in ground air test. Not bad for a tough target with a small coil.
  24. I see they gave green mountain metal detector one. His name is Brad.I think you might enjoy some of his videos Steve since most of it is in the mountains of Vermont at old places. He even does his own music. He finds Spanish gold at one.Check that one out at least. His are different.
