  1. In lake Ontario on the south shore it depends on the spot.  If you get a certain wind direction that takes  the tan sand off and the black sand piles up on the shore it can be super  hot in these   spots.A lot of times the coins and jewelry are laying on the  black sand where you eyeball them and pick them up like pop corn. I have had my xterra overload because  that part of the beach was that hot.I would say mostly it is  half way hot where     deeper  targets makes the  signal sound worse when the black sand is not as  concentrated with the tan sand.If the black sand is thick you want a pi because the signals are terrible   unless they are on the surface.

  2. I tried the GMX with the 6' concentric on this target  with the usual sens.10, boost 2 and I got a nice soft sound at all angles with the target  better or worse depending on my  timing and coil  control.  Most times I can lift the coil an inch and still get this target. The id was  mostly 00  or 99 which are wrap around numbers. If I had my gmx it would be it in a good location where I planned to dig a lot so I would probably dig this  signal as long as I still had  energy.

  3. I then tried gold 2 mode with no iron bias ,recovery 4 and sens. at  21 in multi and it pounded it with 4 inches at least to spare with  solid  1-2 id. if  you  raised coil you would get a lot more iron id but still a nice zip  sound.I would dig this for sure. At 40kz  at 24 sens.  it pounded it to but with 20-32 solid id numbers which is a up average.I would dig this too.I could raise coil and still get nice zip sound.20 kz.was nice but weaker but with very high up average numbers.I  probably would dig this to if I had energy.

  4. I buried my 1.2 ounce 14k yellow gold   chain at measured 10" in very wet    dirt and tried pk1 sens.21 50 tone recovery 4 and F2-7 which I never use in     turf and a got a soft but   not bad signal with mostly a 2id with almost no  iron id showing up.i would dig this if I was going for chains. That is more then I expected for park 1 with high iron bias. This is the  limit for this target for a    signal you would dig on target information.

  5.  Hi Obn .Do you know grave  digger max because my friend here in Rochester made his   titanium   scoop at  his welding shop when he had  time for free.Hi is a great guy my  friend. He made  himself one too but the  scoop to  handle on his needs more  strength for tougher digging. In plain sand it cuts like butter. He made grave digger a better  scoop then the one he has.He sold his shop and is now retired.Poor fellow has not found gold since 4/2/2016.He got 2 in the turf on that day.

Sure, but not criminal. if they failed to live up to the warranty, you could take them to court. Of course, it would be a "losing money" proposition, given what attorneys charge...LOL  I think they still have a lot of unsold inventory. If word got out that the warranty was no good, it would really devalue that inventory. but mostly, I think they're doing the warranty work  because they're decent people. It's the culture of the company, and always has been. That's the saddest thing about the closing....we lose that great culture.

If you had the Gmx would you take it water hunting now given what  is going on with the  Whites situation?

  7. I tried the xterra with the 6" dd 18z. coil and it hit it good also but gave me 32-44 hits mostly which is a coin.I  would be shocked  thinking I was getting a penny and then end up  with a huge  gold chain.  This has happened with gold rings a few times with this coil. The 3kz. coil gave a mixed ugly hit   but a good one in the prospect mode  if you were digging solid hits. This target seems to be a good hit for most machines with the    Nox being  super accurate on this big chain.

When I had one 800 for some tests and footage shooting, I was amazed to air test a tiny 18k ear ring lock...

Unluckily the gold mode 2 or 1 is not workable in the salty beach/water...Tried 20/40/multi w/wo Gb /auto Gb...Nothing but noise, incredible noise.

    Very sad..

One of the advantages of fresh water in water hunting.I remember being in the Med.  sea in porto karras Greece and getting  stung by a small jelly fish.I can't believe how much that hurt my young 18 self at the time .At least you can hunt in the beautiful  Med. sea area , oh such beauty and  history.

  9.  I tried  the gold chain from my Gmx test with my 11" coil on my nox and this machine just walloped it on multi freq. gold2 mode with sens. at 22.It gave me the proper #4 id mostly on this 7" target with a few 3or 5 numbers if I was off center a bit.I could raise   the coil over 10" and    still get it.In 20 kz. at 22  sens. it hit it very hard with  very bouncy  id from 2to  11  .In 40 kz. at max sens.  it pounded it very hard also with less bouncy id from 2to 8. I am very impressed with this mode on this target.
