  1. The badge says “west const co chattanooga tenn”. I DID try to google that, but didn’t come up with anything old. 😂 I do use historic aerials but they only go back to the mid 80s. Nothing shows up on any old topos.
  2. I’ve been making the steep hike up to this old spring on weekdays after work. I haven’t found any more coins, but lots of headstamps and other relics. This past Thursday I found an old building site. Maybe 50 or 60 yards from the spring I noticed a corner of a stone foundation and the outline of a rectangular shape maybe 20’x20’. Just the one corner still had stones for the foundation. I didn’t find any non-ferrous inside the foundation and only one ferrous, a bullet, on the outside just a few feet from the foundation. The badge was found on the other side of the spring fron where the foundation is. Here’s some pics:
  3. Thanks Bob! I guess I could have googled that myself. LOL. I sometimes forget that I have access to nearly unlimited information right at my fingertips! Back in the day I would have had to make a trip to the library to find that info and it might have taken an hour or two to find it IF that info was even at my library.
  4. Hardly any rust on it, must be a fresh drop. That’s a tiny one! I have a 30 lb one and it’s a lot bigger than that.
  5. Hell yeah! Nice collection of rings and congrats on getting into the 19 century? Btw, what’s a ctr ring?
  6. I have windows 10 on my old laptop and I updated with that. I don’t see why it wouldn’t work with the later windows 11.
  7. I bought one of his remote covers for my deus2 from him. I’ve also had one on my nox since he came out with them. He makes good stuff!
  8. I’m interested in how Steve’s lower camlock was installed also. A little off topic, but I have an Anderson rod for my Equinox and really like it other than that setscrew. I wonder if I could modify it with one of Steve’s camlocks also?
  9. Is there a weight spec available for the 11x13? I’m curious as to how its weight compares to the 11”.
  10. Great collection of relics! There has to be a coin or two left.
  11. At least you got some silver! Better than what I’ve been getting lately.
  12. What the quote in my reply above should have been.
  13. Me too! My detecting time is limited and I try to learn more about a detector as I detect. Sometimes I’ll do a test or two to clear up a question I may have.
  14. Congrats! I always love to see a barber come out of the ground.
  15. Ok, I assumed wrong in my thinking that everything that hits below the disc setting in full tones gives an iron tone. I just tested this with a rusty nail that rings up as 3. If I set my disc to anything above 3 I get no tone at all. 3 and below gives me a low iron tone. I tested this in general 1 FT and program 3 (sensitive FT). I also tried it with a zinc penny and a shotgun shell headstamp. The penny came in at 83 with a high tone with disc set at 83 or below. Any disc setting above 83 and I get no tone (silence). Same with headstamp which rang up at 72. So I tried the same experiment in pitch. In pitch tones anything that rings in below your disc setting comes in with an iron tone. Doesn’t matter if ferrous or non-ferrous. For example, that zinc penny will come in with an iron tone if I set my disc at 84 or higher. i really wish full tones would act in the same manner! There’s many instances where I want to hear the iron below my disc setting in full tones. I really like full tones, but if the disc is working like a notch where you don’t hear anything then disc settings don’t seem to serve a purpose imo. For example if I’m hunting in the woods and want to hear iron to see where there was activity I can set my disc to 6 or so. But then I should also be able to notch out small foil so I don’t hear that. I guess I’ll just have to set my disc really low like 0 or 1.
  16. Just wondering: if I’m using full tones and have my disc set to 6 so I can hear low tones on iron, but I also set a notch from 6-35 to knock out foil and small canslaw, I will not hear any tone from 6-35, correct? I want to be able to hear low tones on iron only. However, if I set the disc at 35 with no notch at all, I’ll hear low tones on small foil and such all the way to 35. Is this correct? Again I’m talking when I’m in full tones.
  17. If you have sites that that you can hunt multiple times just try different programs each time you go. I guess what I’m trying to say is don’t be afraid to try a certain program. Obviously this doesn’t work to your advantage if you have a site where you have a one-time shot at it.
  18. I updated last night. I live in a house provided by my employer and am on their internet which blocks foreign sites. Luckily the maintenance building is on a different provider that will let me go to XP’s site. So I have to load up the detector stuff and my laptop and park right outside the maintenance building to do the update. Last night, even though I followed all the prompts in order, I got an error with the first two attempts. The third time I did it, it worked. The ws6 puck updated on the first try. I tried .71 out in my yard when I got home and it seemed to work fine. I’m really glad they fixed the pinpoint glitch. I don’t use pinpoint that much, but it’s nice to have it working properly.
  19. Damn, that was a hell yeah moment when that second spur came out of the ground. Congrats!
  20. Those are awesome finds! I’d be happy just finding one of those brass shotgun shells! Lol I’d be ecstatic finding a spur! What’s your method for cleaning those finds? Everything looks so nice.
