By the looks of that can I’d say it’s past the expiration date…..if it has one. Lol -
Recommend A Long Handle Detecting Shovel

That is NICE! If you could make one of those with an inverted V (like on the rootslayer nomad pictured above) for the tip I would buy it from you. -
Recommend A Long Handle Detecting Shovel

Here’s what I’ve been using for the past 4 or 5 years. I’m on my third one now. The other two cracked about a third of the way down from the top of the blade. However, I get a LOT of usage out of them before they crack. I still want to try a predator but, like someone mentioned above, I can’t decide on which one to get although I’m leaning towards the phoenix model. I really like the inverted V tip f the nomad. It holds on and cuts right through a root instead of glancing off to the side. -
Did I miss what size coils come in the multipack? I’ll be watching this one once it’s released.

Bushing For Carbon Fiber Lower Shaft On Deus II
NCtoad replied to Jed in NC's topic in XP Deus II Forum
Same cross section, but slightly larger diameter. Mine fits tighter than the stock plastic lower. The cam locks very tightly on the nokta shaft making it very secure. The only thing I wish it had were the numbers and hash marks like the xp lower does. I took a sharpie and made a mark at the length I like to extend it, so not a big deal. -
Going off topic a little, but I must be one of the few that likes the stock backphones. The thing is I’d thought I would hate them (this was before my D2 arrived) because I thought they wouldn’t stay put on my skinny head. However after many hunts in the woods going through very tight areas of rhododendrons and mountain laurels, the backphones are much less prone of being knocked out of place by rogue branches. I also like the fact that I can hear my surroundings much better than over the ear muffs. That can turn into a negative though when it’s really windy or in other noisy conditions. The only other negative for me is that the side where the puck attaches is heavier than the other side which gives a feeling of being unbalanced. If I bought another set of headphones, I’d probably opt for the WSA-II model, which are the backphones that don’t use the puck.

Went 2 The Barbers At The Old Farm
NCtoad replied to F350Platinum's topic in Metal Detecting For Coins & Relics
Hell yeah!! I figured you’d hit on some silver around the house area. Way to go! Now that you’re hitting silver, don’t be surprised if a gold ring turns up. Congrats!! -
Very nice belt buckle! Nice pics too!

Hey Bob this was one of those spots that I had the gut feeling on. Yeah, I usually rotate my photos correctly before I upload, but forgot to do it this time. That part where you said that I always find something good when I post. Well, it’s more like I always post when I find something good. Lol!

Got out today to a site that used to have some old mill houses on it. I found another spot where a house stood and hit two wheaties. Then I started getting memorials…every coin was ringing up 90-91. Sometimes going to 89 on the low to 92 on the high and all pennies. However one of those 90-91 signals was a small shiny disc. At first I thought it was a well worn barber dime because it had the word dime on the back and this site probably only goes back to the early 1900s. When I took a closer look I could barely make out the outline of lady liberty sitting down. My first seated and oldest silver! I wish it was in a little better condition, but I’ll take it for silver #2 fty.

A Case Of Beer And A Bag Of Silver.

^This is how I learned to navigate the menu. I just took the remote off the stem and took it to bed with me and fooled around with it. I know this sounds a little perverted, but it worked! LOL! I set the lower stem with coil beside the bed so it didn’t lose connection. I also had the owner’s manual on the nightstand next to me in case I needed it. Pretty easy to learn. Congrats on picking the D2. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.

Hell yeah! All 14k too!

I like that idea of not having to press a button to ground balance. It senses the pumping motion and ground balances whenever you pump the coil. Nice!

Epic Hunt That Almost Wasn't
NCtoad replied to Chase Goldman's topic in Metal Detecting For Coins & Relics
Hell yeah Chase! Those are some awesome finds for an abbreviated hunt. Actually those are some awesome finds for an all day hunt too! Lol. If I’d have found that pipe tamper I’d still be scratching my head trying to figure out what it is. Thanks for posting! -
Hunt Cut Short By Rain, But It Was Worth It
NCtoad replied to F350Platinum's topic in Metal Detecting For Coins & Relics
I have those “gut” or “hunch” feelings every so often and most of the time they do pay off! Just the week before last I had about 45 minutes after work before it got dark. There’s an old spring in the woods about 100 yards from my house. About 30 yards from the spring is a huge oak tree about 3-4’ in diameter. Tons of trash around that tree; aluminum pop cans and lots of iron. Anyways in that short time before it got dark I figured I’d try around the base of that tree one more time. I used my nox with the six inch coil. Amongst all the iron and trash signals I got a fairly decent tone ringing up 20-21. About 3” down was a 189? indian head penny! My first ihp for the year. I just had that hunch that there had to be a coin around the base of that tree!- 27 replies

To be honest, I would have no problem ever buying another coil and just continuing to use the 9” coil. That 9” coil is the goldilocks of coil sizes….at least for the D2 and the hunting I do. If I need something smaller I have my nox set up and ready to go with the 6” coil. In reality I don’t think a larger or smaller coil for the D2 would pay for itself with finds over and above what the 9 will get. Maybe if I did a lot of beach hunting…maybe? BUT, it’s always fun to buy a new toy and have specific tools for specific jobs! I guess I’m just rambling here. Lol
