That's quite a large haul of treasures/trash which indicates it does not get detected very often.
Love the interesting ring and it seems you now have it ID'd.
A full bottle of jagermeister, now that's a treat.
Interesting pic of the river. Have you been able to recover any Civil War era items? NC had it's share of activity in certain areas. Looks to be higher elevation with the clear water quality.
Well done and thanks for helping clean the environment at the same time.
Very, very little Civil War activity around my part of the state. I live in the mountainous, western part of the state so that stream comes down from a higher elevation and the water does look clean, but, as you can see, there’s lots of litter in that stream.

Very nice!

Hell Yeah Bob! Old gold is much more exciting than your run of the mill modern stuff. Do you have a acid test kit? I would guess it’s high karat.

Hell yeah Bob! Most of us can only dream of finding a coin like that! Good luck in the new year and I’m looking forward to the gold coin you find in ‘24!

Great pic, thanks. Tungsten Carbide is also slightly magnetic but it's very resistant to scratching. It's a custom ring, still really nice.
Here ya go, found it:

They call it "Jewelers Stainless", not an especially cheap ring. 🙂
I think I'd get a new bottle of Jagermeister to celebrate 😀
I don’t know how you found that but thanks! It’s my best “junker” ring!😁

My experience on similar rings like that is SS. Possibly with a heavy plating. Magnet will get a slight attraction to it. Gold , platinum and Palladium will not do that.
Thanks. That’s what I figured too.

New pic added of the markings.

Wow NC! Nice ring! 👍 I see "C C PLA" inside, Platinum?
Can you get better pics of the marks inside?
Regardless that's a great ring. Good to see ya out there gettin' 👍
It’s C C PLM. Between the C’s is an insignia that looks like the Boy Scout symbol without the eagle. The letters aren’t stamped, they’re etched or engraved.

So Friday I got the gopro and today I hit a section about a half mile downstream. I got a honker ring but can’t tell what it’s made of. Not silver (rings up a solid 60 on the D2). I tested it for platinum and the solution dissolves the rub mark after about 10 seconds. I just checked and it’s very slightly attracted to a magnet. I had to hang it from a string to see this. Is it stainless? Here’s the rest of the haul. A full mini bottle of Jagermeister!

Wow NC, the 7 is an older model, I think they're up to 12 now. 🤔
Did it have any saved video on it? 😀
That's really a testament to how good those cameras are. Cool find!
Yeah I was impressed that it even turned on! However the touchscreen has gotten worse. There’s some moisture inside as I can see a little bit of fogging on under the lens. Maybe it will dry out after a while and start working properly again.

It may have some type of video on it that might show the owner.
Good find and good luck on your next hunt.
I think there is video from the original owner on it but I can’t access it. The touch screen isn’t functioning like it should.

That watch may fetch you some money if listed on ebay. Years ago when my dad died, I found his old seiko watch from the late 60s or early 70s. It was an early battery operated electric watch. A guy on ebay bought it off me. He restored old seiko watches.

Yesterday, since the temps were supposed to reach around 60 degrees, I decided to hunt the tubing creek where I recently found a gold ring. This time the water was up higher than the last time and there were a lot more people fishing. So I decided I would the section of stream where the tubing begins. It’s a wider slow, deep area that has a sandy bottom. I ended finding a lot of split shot sinkers, a few pulltabs and about a $1.50 in change. I was starting to get cold and was heading back to the put-in area when I got a banging 88 on the D2. I was thinking smashed aluminum can. Well, I dug down three scoops in the sand and out comes this black box. Right away I knew it was a gopro and looking at it closer I saw Gopro on the front and Black 7 on the side.
Having absolutely no experience with any gopro, I had to go online and find the instructions to figure out how to charge it. It takes a usc-c cord and I have one so when I plugged it in it instantly came on! However the touchscreen did work at first, but is getting to not work so good now. The battery compartment was completely dry and the battery was dated 2018. It will charge, but seems to lose the charge overnight. I actually took some pics and a video when it was working well. It also has a front screen but it wasn’t working at first and looked slightly cloudy, but now, as the rear touchscreen isn’t working, the front screen has come on and looks perfectly clear. I’m going to let it sit for a few days and charge it back up. Heck, I even got the voice commands to work at first. They’re intermittently working now.

I doubt that this is your problem, but one time mine wouldn’t come on. I tried re-pairing to no avail when I realized the puck wasn’t fully snapped into place on the headphones. It looked like it was though. It must have gotten bumped and wasn’t making contact.

Nothing I have found works better than my MI-4. I have previously owned the Garrett carrot, the pulse dive and recently got the legend pro package with the Accupoint, and although the Accupoint works better than the carrot and the pulse dive, I prefer the ergonomics and button placement of the MI-4. it just feels so good in my hand and my thumb naturally rests right where the button is. Plus, the pitch sound works better than anything I've ever used to quickly locate a target. My only complaint is it's a little too quiet for my old fart ears, but aside from that, I absolutely love it and at some point here, I plan on selling my Accupoint to get another MI-4 so that my best friend who is just starting out learning to detect has a solid, reliable pinpointer.
What you need is a deus 2 and the mi6. Then you’ll be able to hear the pinpointer through your headphones!
