  1. You’re welcome CPT! I hope it works well for you. Don’t be afraid to change up those notch settings to your personal preferences. Let us know how it works for you.
  2. Here’s a program I set up for hunting schools, sports fields and parks for shallower coins and rings. This is for quick paced hunting. This program is based off of the sensitive program but could be based off others too, to suit your needs. For example it could be based off the general (1) program if your soil is really damp or wet. Tones-pitch disc-7 Notch-(7-40), (70-82). I’ve played around with different notch parameters and I like this setup, but use your personal prefences for what you intend to hunt. Silencer-5 (You could max this out at 7, but I haven’t noticed much if any falsing at 5) Bottlecaps-5 sensitivity-95 Frequency MAX-40khz Iron Volume-0 Reactivity-3 Audio Response-1 Audio Type-PWM This program runs extremely quietly, but still hits targets hard. Like I said above, you can modify your notches to the site. If there’s lots of foil, raise the lower value of the first notch up into the 50s. Unless you notch out the lower 60s, you’re going to dig a lot of square tabs but also a lot of nickels. I dug 23 nickels today. I also watch the numbers and decide to dig based on how jumpy they are. This is not a deep program. This is for clad and rings in trashy areas.
  3. Thanks F350! Everything under the bleachers is around 1 inch or less. In the grassy areas around the school buildings I’d say the average depth is 2-5”.
  4. There’s a lot of cross braces on these bleachers too, just ask my head! Lol
  5. EDIT: Acid test says it’s between 14k and 18k! Haven’t been posting much the past few months as I haven’t been finding much to post about. Doesn’t mean I haven’t been out detecting though! I’ve been hitting the woods a lot and I got a permission to a 1940s house that gave up one merc and I keep going over my usual sites, but they’re not producing. Today I hit the local high school. I’ve pulled well over $100 in clad out of there and had my best clad day there with about $33 in one hunt. Today I got 4 rings, two junkers, a .925, and one more that I’m pretty sure is gold. It’s not marked but I took a small file the inside and didn’t see a color change after filing a small groove. It rang up a solid 51 on the D2. Got that one and two of the others under the home bleachers. Also got $9.90 in clad! Which is pretty good since I hit this place so often. Gotta love the deus2 for being able to remove the coil and lower stem while crawling on my hands and knees under the bleachers! I got a gold acid test kit on the way so I’ll be testing that ring and will update this post once I test it.
  6. I like the looks of those! With that strap above the knee it looks like they’ll stay put and not slip down.
  7. Congrats on a very productive hunt CPT! A Hell Yeah! for the seated quarter too!
  8. My scuff cover on my deus II was never really very tight even when new and as time passed it became looser. It eventually got loose enough that one evening after a hunt in the nearby woods, I noticed it was missing. The next day I retraced my steps and lo and behold I found it. From that point on I taped it with electrical tape on opposing sides which worked really well for keeping it on even during fresh water hunts. However during those fresh water hunts I was getting a lot of sand between the cover and coil and to clean it I had to cut and remove the tape, clean the coil replace the cover and re-tape it so I wouldn’t lose it. I was getting ready to order a new scuff cover when I thought maybe I could heat up the one I have and bend it to make it tighter on the coil. So I got my heat gun out and gently (this is important) heated the cover in multiple places and bent it so it would grip the coil tighter. So far, so good as I haven’t had it fall off and I don’t have to tape it on anymore.
  9. Steve, I admire your willingness and courage. Yes, courage because that’s what it takes to fight that fear of losing something that gives you joy and entertainment. It’s good to purge. It simplifies your life. Good luck with those three, I think you have all your bases covered.
  10. Wow! How awesome it must be to be able to hunt in the back yard (or is it the front yard), of a medieval castle! Congratulations on all those great finds!
  11. Nice bunch of finds Mark! Looks like that 900 is working well for you!
  12. V1.1 for me. I made a program similar to Rattlehead’s silver slayer except I used sensitive full tones and instead of notching I set the volume to zero where I wanted notches.
  13. Awesome find! I’m still looking for a crotal bell.
  14. Yep, lowering audio response really helps to quiet emi. In most of the factory programs it’s set at 4. I usually run it at 3 or 2. The modulation really helps with telling how deep something is. It’s an audio depth meter for me.
  15. Took the kids to a local swimming hole on a creek and while they swam, I detected. I detected this exact same spot about a year ago but forgot to take my bone conducting headphones so I couldn’t dunk the RC. This time I remembered, but really didn’t need them as I found this nice sterling ring in about 18” of water. Some of the coins however were found with the remote under water. Used sensitive full tones with sensitivity at 95 and reactivity at 2. All other settings were stock.
  16. Haha! Believe me, I’ve hit quite few 1965s!
  17. I just watched that video on youtube….the comments were brutal. Lol!
  18. Something I’ve noticed about the new 1.1 software update is clad quarters are ringing up around 93-94 whereas they used to ring up around 96. On the previous software versions silver quarters were also ringing up around 96. On this last hunt however that silver quarter was coming in at 96-97. That’s the first silver quarter I’ve found using version 1.1. Has anyone else noticed the new 1.1 version making a distinction between clad and silver?
  19. Silver coins have been scarce this year. However, I hit one of my park sites in an area that I had only quickly skimmed over in the past with the nox. Yesterday I hit that same area with the D2 in sensitive ft, sense at 94, reactivity 2.5-3, silencer 1, no notch BC at 0, 40khz max freq, disc at 6.8. yesterday I was mainly digging high tones but also a few solid mid tones for nickels or rings. I got a nice 96-97 and about 2-3” deep under a bunch of pines where the soil was pretty dry, I got the ‘53D gw. Then about 10 minutes later I got a 91 mixed in with some iron grunts. Out pops a ‘64 rosie! That brings me to 7 fty. This site will be my future hot spot as there’s more area to cover and I still have a lot of lower conductors to dig.
  20. I noticed that running audio response lower: 2, 1, 0, will really quiet the detector down if you have emi and a noise cancel isn’t doing much. The down side? You really have to listen for those whisper quiet deep signals.
  21. Mine arrived yesterday. Wow, what great pinpointer (so far from my kitchen table test). Volume is adustable, disc has low tone for ferrous and red blinking LEDs, high tone and green LEDs for non-ferrous. You can turn the white Illumination LED off if you wish. Magic holster works great. Waterproof to 5 meters. Four sensitivity levels: 1, 2, 3, and boost.
