Minelab Bungee Clamp Too Loose
Dean Stone replied to Ethan in Adelaide's topic in Detector Prospector Forum
I would think just rap a wire or black tape around where it don't slip through and it should work. -
Metal Detector Stuff F.s.
Dean Stone replied to TC-AZ's topic in Metal Detecting & Prospecting Classifieds
Hi Tyler, I have made covers for coils, go to a heating place or duck worker that puts in heat ducks, and they have pipe covers that are from 4" to 14" white plactic end cover for heat ducks. They work very well for coil covers, just then plactic. If a little to big, put a heat gun to it and it will srink. Good Luck Dean -
It depends on where you buy your sand, if a Lowes in Cal. you might get a few flakes. I got some from Georgia and got a flake or two. If you need sand it is fun to look, but if you don't need any, you have a yard full of sand.

I use a small drop sluice to run my cons, after i dredge. Has any one Made a Drop sluice for a 2" keens dredge? I have reg. riffiles in mine now, and was think i could run slower if i had a drop sluice in my dredge. I just have small gold here in Ohio anyway, and think i could do better with a drop sluice.

I have a very niceXLT detector, it has been in a hard case for about 3years. No batterys where left in it when i put it away. Took it out the other day and it all works fine, but the face don' t light up very well, i can't hardly see it. it is yellow looking. It still has the face plastic on it, could that got yellow, and if i take it off, can i get one for it? Do you think that could be what it is ? Thanks Dean

Long Tom Sluice
Dean Stone replied to HardPack's topic in Gold Panning, Sluicing, Dredging, Drywashing, Etc
Valens Legacy I think the sluice you talking about is a Drop Sluice. I have a small one that i run my cons. in and it don't miss much. Only use a small amount of water. Once the drops get full of black sand, it will loose some gold, need to keep an eye on it so it fill up. -

Hi Kingman, out of all those detectors, what is the best for you? What one do you like the most? I have 7 and still don't know what i like. Most of the time i reach for the MXT, i have most of the coils for it and know it the most. Dean -

Good job John, try harder this year. HaHa, just have fun. Happy New Years. Dean -
If i had a place like that i would build me a tent and hunt all winter. I love to gold hunt, i get about that all summer. I hunt in OHIO, and all we have is small gold, but i love it. I think i am going to go out west this year, if i live and stay ok. I am 72 years old, and been with the same old woman for 52 years. She might not let me go, ha ha.

I think you should take out the batterys first, just incase you touch something you should not touch. -
I Think I Lost My Mind!
Dean Stone replied to George Kinsey's topic in Metal Detecting For Coins & Relics
With all those detectors, can you say one is better than the others? By the time i would use them i would forget what one was best. I have 7 detectors and still can't pick just one. -
Thanks Jeff and Steve, I was just trying to see if the Vanquish was a good detector for the money. It has done good for me, i haven't used it a lot but i think i am going to like it. Thanks Dean
