  1. That's what I say, there is nothing wrong with the Deus 3.2. I would like a small coil also, but if I need to wait till it is ready I will wait. I ask Gary B. last week if he thinks the Deus will have a 6" or 7" DD coil come out and he said that XP is always working on something, so I will use what works for me and wait. I love the Deus, would just like a small coil.           Dean

  2. Hi Beatup, I had a 4'' but just to much for me to. I am lucky I can get my 2" in and out of the water. I have a 3" combo also and thinking about putting it on floats. I like my 3" but by the time I get it all packed in and set up, I am about had. I do ok with the 2". I can just let it down the bank with a rope and have it in the water. To get it back up is a little harder, I just hook it to my old van and pull it up.

  3. Hi Terry, I lived in Columbus Ohio for about 22 years, then broke my back and moved just accrose the river in KY.The Kokosing  river did have good gold but can't go there now because of some small shell that is in there. Down at BrainBridge Ohio has the best gold better than other placers in Ohio. I know about the fishing I love that to, I like to set poles and dredge till I get something, that's getting two birds with one stone.   -- Tom I know all about those aces and pains, sometimes after a day of dredging I can't walk but not going give it up till the day comes I can't make it to the creek. If I was going to come to Ohio to dredge I wouldn"t  go to Swanks it has been worked to death.  Look up BrainBridge Ohio, and find Buckskin creek, ask for Bill at the gold camp and everyone knows him. I have hit spots and got about a gram a day there.

  4. I know most of you detect for gold and it is very dry out west, but I like to dredge. There is not many nuggets here in Ohio, just small gold and in some places there is quit a lot. I was just thinking about looking for a air compressor to use with a small motor . The creeks are not very deep, most I can use a Snokel and mask, but would like to have air. Dose anyone know where I can get a good used compressor? I have a 2" Keens dredge and a 3" Keens Highbanker dredge combo. Steve have you sold all your dredge parts when you moved from AK. ? I just wish CA. would let people dredge, I would  like to get out there sometime where there is some real nice gold. Thanks Flintstone

  5. Thanks for all the good info. If I put a 4 horse on it would be to much for the dredge. I though about the DC power but then there is the extra battery to carry. I will work something out.  I though in CA. they had dredging worked out. I think there is just not enough of them Rangers going for a swim. Hope they get it worked out, I would like to come out there and dredge before I die.

  6. Hi guys, I live in OHIO, the gold here is small but if you get in the right place you can find a lot a day. Not going to get rich, but just fun for a old man. I have always wanted to go to Alaska but time was not on my side. Well I said I live in Ohio but I dredge there but I live just across the Ohio River on the Kentucky side. Chuck, I see you go by Ridge Runnner did you live back East? A lot of people back here go by that name.

  7. Hi all, I love to detect, but like to dredge for gold Can anyone tell me if a 2" Keens with a 2.5 horse moter  can run a air compressor for air on the dredge? I have a 3" but sometimes I just like to test to see what has washed in over winter. I don't run it wide open anyway, I am 64 and a bad back so I just take my time. If anyone has a 2" for sale  I have a friend that needs one and he can stop using mine.  I know Steve dredged a lot up North, may he can help.  Thanks  Dean

  8. Hi Steve, I don't think you were complaining. I know on other forums I see where people have stared saying that they are tired of waiting for the upgrade and going to get something else. I like you keeping us up on the latest on XP. I read a lot on here but don't post a lot. I have only had my Deus with the 11" coil for 4 Mos. and have found 10 rings so far. I would like to have the 5x10 coil also, but I can wait till you tell me that it is as good or better than what I have.

  9. I know everyone is in a hurry to get the V4, but it cost a lot to ship over seas. If the Deus has a bug when it get to the USA, who is going to pay for the shipping back to be fixed? I think that is one reason XP is taking so long, just to be sure it is what it is to be. I have the V3.2 Deus and would like to get the upgrade fast also, but not if it cost the XP out of the game. The Deus dose a fine job just like it is, but if the upgrade makes it better then I will have a supper detector. Give XP time to get it right, use it as is and wait, you might be getting a new detector soon . As far as ground balance I have never had any trouble with that. You may need to read Andy's Book again.

  10. I wish I could be out west for awhile. I am back East, in Kentucky, lots of Danial Boone stores. Maybe before I die I will get to do some prospecting out  t here. Back here we have very fine gold, I still go and find it, out west in Cal. no one would even keep. I will be 64 in Nov. and have a broken back but still do what I can. I love being out doors in the hills. I was born 100 years to late. That's ok I make my own history.

  11. If a refiner would take just $1000.00 at atime, we would not need to pay tax on it. I wounder if they keep a running total for the year? That is what can get you. I have a oz. of about 22k, and one of 14k, and one mixed of 10,14,and 18k. I think i will just keep it till gold gose to $3000.00 an oz.

  12. Hi roustabout, If you want a all around detector to hunt gold and coins, I don,t think you could beat the MXT or MXT PRO, I took steve,s advice and got the MXT when they first came out, and am very happy with it. I only get to hunt gold now and then, and it will do very good on small gold. When i am home, away from any gold, i can take it to the parks and do just as well as the guys that payed over $1000.00,s for there detector.  Good luck with what ever you choose, there is alot of good detectors, and some not so good.  Flintstone

  13. Hi Steve, I know when the MXT first came out, i read your post on how you liked it and you are the one that made up my mind. I still have the MXT and use it most. I get to go to AZ. once a year and hunt for gold, but most of the time i coin hunt. Now you were talking about the 4.some # of the MXT. Whites has come out with the MX5, that is like the MXT PRO, but at about 3.some lb. Have you tryed it yet? I to would like a MXT a little lighter. I have found lots of rings and coins with the MXT but only one small nugget. But still love to be in the hunt. If you have tryed the MX5, and it is like the MXT, let me know and i will get a new detector, but untill i find something as good to me as the MXT i will never change. Thanks  Dean

  14. Hi Steve, glad you got a forum that we can talk about thing that our detectors do, without making someone mad. I don,t think anyone don,t like most detectors, but you just get to love the one that you use the most. If we can,t compear them how do we know what we would like to try. I have 7 detectors now and need to sell some but witch one , i like them all. I use my MXT the most. Ok Ok i need to stop, and just say i hope this ends up being the best forum on the net. Dean
