Dose anyone that has tested the Legend know if the viberiton works on small targets. I have very bad hearing and have aids in broth ears, and have trouble hearing low hits on reg. detectors. I have the XP Deus 1, and afriend has one he always ask if i can hear targets he gets and i can't hear them. I was thinking about the Legend and that might help if it will viberate on deep targets. I think i am asking this right, thanks for any help. Dean

Today I tried to force myself to use the Xpointer only. I had the Propointer AT with me.
Would I rely completely on the Xpointer, and not use the Carrot?
The answer is no, because I have hundreds of hours on the Propointer AT, and I have learned automatic procedures to ensure it functions properly. I have always located my target. I point it at my shovel after turning it on.
I also found out something today that bothers me a bit. The Xpointer in air tests did indeed locate targets before the Propointer. However, in the ground it does not. 🤔 I can't explain it more simply, if anyone wants to take a stab at complicating it go ahead. 😀 There were times it found nothing and the Propointer found the target. There was never an instance of the Propointer not finding something.
I finally was able to tame the "boost mode" somewhat, but I found it more accurate in "high".
The takeaway is this so far:
The Xpointer will indeed tell you which target in the hole is the "good" one. Almost always. Almost. It struggled a bit with targets close to ferrous like lead, or stuff with iron attached.
The Xpointer will point more directly at your target than the Propointer. Nothing wastes your time more than searching and pointing on all angles, if you're on it you get a signal.
I'll be using it a lot more, water tests coming soon. I like it but I don't love it. It's a great tool to have.
I liked the Whites TRX, but lost mine, that is another story, It pointed deep and on the point, not 360% . I have hit small targets and dig hole to deep, the propointer will keep going off make you think the target is in the bottom of hole. I hate that. Need just the tip to point, is there any pointers that just point on the tip? Thankd Dean

I was thinking "you must be new here" but now I see you have one of the earliest "Joined" dates I've ever seen.
Here is the Nokta/Makro subforum where there has been considerable discussion on the Legend. (Scroll down to see various threads). The forum you (and now I) posted on has some comparison info, too.
The XP Deus II release has stolen a lot of thunder from the N/M Legend's imminent(?) release. But the Legend also has some detectorists excited. Note the Deus II costs twice what the Legend does so expecting or even hoping that the Legend will be as good may be asking too much. We will know more about both in a few months -- just in time for the arrival of warm weather detecting season in much of the USA.
I have been here awhile but don,t post much. I think i learn more by just keeping quit than talking much. I really like this forum, alot of good info. Sorry i posted in wrong place. Will keep reading, Thanks Dean

HAS ANYONE BEEN KEEPING UP WITH THE N/M Legend ? I think it is being held up trying to up date to the Deus 11. I am waiting to see how it will compare to the Deus 11 When it comes out. If it is as good at half the price, it will take over. I have very bad hearing and the vibrating part looks good to me. I had the Deus 1 or first, what ever you want to call it. I could not hear signals my friend would get on his. I hope the vibrating part works on deep targets. What dose everyone think of the Legend? thanks Dean

I have aids in my ear, all the time when i was 17 teen, i tryed to get in the army and was told i was 80% to 90% deaf, I always knew i was not very smart, but didn't know that it was because i couldn't hear in school. I am almost 69 years old now and it don't matter that i can't here. No one can use my headphones for they are to loud. I have trouble with ground balance, i can't here the tones. I still do ok, i have alot of rings. Good Luck Dean

Hi Seven, you think this would work on the Vanquish? I just got one today and it has rained all day. I would like to try this on it. Mine is the 440, not with wireless headphones. I may not like it, if not, it will go down the road. Thanks Dean

Thanks all, These are the Marlex floats , not the black rubber ones. I just didn't know if they were to have air or not. They float ok, just thinking, that sometimes get me in trouble. Thanks Dean
-
They are the hard floats, they have air values on the small ends. with values covers like on a car tire.
-
Hi all, hope everyone is ready for dredging . I have a 2" Keene dredge, with the hard floats. Dose anyone how much air to put in the floats? Don't want to blow them up, but need them to float good. Any help would be good, I tried to look on line but could not find how much pressure to put in them. Thanks Dean

Thanks guys, I will call Whites and see if I can get one shipped to me.

Dose anyone where I can get a coil end that's goes on the black control box. I have a 9.5" coil that someone changed the end for another detector. I can't find where to order on Whites forum. Thanks Dean

I found one like that, though it was a pic. frame.

They will be kind of big hanging on your head. You could put them in a back pack. ha ha

As for as a pinpointer, I have a TRX and it will pick up a #4 shot, That is a lot smaller than that nug. I didn't mean that you didn't do a good job. A pinpointer will speed up your dig time and give you more time to hunt. I do some beach hunting and my pointer will pick up ear ring backs when in my hand.
-
Man you need a pinPointer, You can dig much more with less time trying to find it.

I sure would like any of these treasures, Thanks flintstone

Still today in SouthWest Kentucky where Fort Knox is you can't go in without singing a paper that you can't hold the USA for anything that happens to you. They still have drills for Army. I have deer hunted there and there is some trees that look like they have been hit by a boom that makes tooth picks out of them. There is still live amo in the mud that can kill you.

Only way to know for sure, is to cut a small piece off and send to a place that can tell for sure. Good luck, you might have a good one.

I have used the swivel nozzle on my 2" Keens, but took it off after the swivel keep getting fine sand in it and would not trun. Sometimes it was even upside down and need a big long handle of something to work it loose. They are good when they work, but if locked up then a pain. Hope yours work better if you get one.

Thanks All, Don't want to get into a big fuss over this. This is just something I have been working on over the cold weather here. I test my tailing and lose very little with the 2" Keens, but run slow so not to blow any out. I was thinking that use the same motor as the 2" and run faster would let me move more dirt. The 3" has a 5 horse motor, and that is load by itself. I think I will try the 3" sluice on the 2" frame and that motor, and run faster. I do get good gold from where I go, there was a mine back in the 1800's on top of the hill where I go. Every spring there is more gold in the same spots I did the year before. Biggest piece is about a 10th of a gram. I sometimes go and just pan when it is to cold to get in the water and get 6 or 7 pieces in a pan. Going to try and make it out more this year. With a broken back and a plate in my neck, some days when it is cold I just can't make it. If anyone has more info, put it to me. I am 67 years old and try to do what I can till my time comes. Thanks for all the help. Dean

Hi Swamp, do you think the 2" floats will float the 3" sluice and use the 3" hose? I have boath set ups, It is just the 3" hose and high banker is just so much heavier than the 2". I prospect in OHIO, and the gold is very small, I got to go about 6 times last year and ended with 1.10 OZ. of gold. Going to try and do better this year. thanks Dean

Hi All, I have a 2" Keene dredge and a 3" Keene HighBaker, I use the 2" 90% of the time cause the 3" high banker about to much for me to get to the small creek I go to. I get very small gold at this creek but a lot of it. Do you think if I fit the 3" sluice box on my 2" floats I can get better gold recovery? I never run my Honda full blast anyway. I was just thinking the bigger sluice will keep more small gold. What do you all think? Thanks Dean

I for one am glad they are making it right before they ship it to USA. Think what it would cost to have to ship your detector back to get something fixed that can't be down loaded. I want a Legend, but i want it to be the best it can be before i get it. I sold my XP Deus 1, but i can go back with my MXT and hunt until i get the perfect Legend get here. Just me, everyone is like kids at Chirstmas, but if you know you are going to get a broke toy, that kills everything.
