Also what do a lot of folks use on their user button on the ZED, ex: Gold Mode, sensitivity, volume, threshold pitch, ect? I tell you what, these ZED's sure are a lot easier to operate than the GPX series detectors were... Dave.

Watch out for the big water trucks, follow Jungo all the way out to the dry lake, where they have burning man, huge dry lake, there's some good meteorites been found out there also.

Hi Glenn, Im not even close to an expert, more like lifelong amature, but the new pics you provided do not really look to promising, I dont see any Chondrules in your window you grinded. Could you get it looked at in person at the Colorado School of mines in Denver, I think they have a few floors of meteorites there. Or a local University Geology department? Dave

I have cut probably a few hundred probable stones, both with dremmel and rock saw, 99 % of the time it's nothing, but that 1% could pay off.... A guy named Robert Verish who found a Martian meteorite ( Los Angeles 001) , did the same in California, he just can't remember the exact spot he found it, because it was thrown together with all his probables.

Hmmm very interesting, looks like Chondrules popping out of it, but you say it doesn't stick to a magnet...pictures sometimes are hard to determine if it's a meteorite. Can you cut it with a rock saw to see what's inside??

Jason, Chris is right about the Lithium boom, all dry lakes have been claimed over... good thing meteorites dont fall under a mining claim, a nice excuse if someone says what are you doing on my mining claim right , hehe... A good example is Molycorp near the Nevada/ California border, just 10 years ago, when the company was not running, you could have bought up a lot of claims around it, and it would have made you a millionaire today leasing it out. I dont know if Red Dry Lake near Kingman Arizona is claimed up, but years ago, I was reading on drilling reports on the dry lake, and they ran into a lot of salt way down, and had to stop. I have read a lot of reports that show a lot of dry lakes that have salt/ brine tend to also have Lithium.... remember your buddy Dave if you do claim it, and lease it in the future... . Also since Tesla built a Lithium Battery plant in Northern Nevada, it was cheaper to process Lithium for the battery plant than import it from China, that why most of the Dry Lakes in Nevada are claimed up, I believe Silver Peak Dry Lake is a Lithium plant that has also been around for a while. Keep your eye out for metals of the future, and claim up !!!!! Look at Tantalum, and Indium... Remember to put in the lease agreement you want shares of stock also...

I would also have to say "yes".... I do not sell my gold or meteorites. Except one time I traded gold for a new 25" coiltek coil a few years back... Some of the best friends I have made are prospectors, who also enjoy hunting/ exploring, and getting outdoors. Im pretty serious into it, hunting every weekend, and have been for over 15 years. I love hearing and seeing the finds and stories everyone on here makes. Dave

But it doesnt fit to good, maybe not... . Got out for a bit of detectin...El Gran pepita de oro came in at 12 grams , and the little guy ended up being a little over 1 gram.... Got another 3.5 grammer, but didnt get a pic of it... Low n Slow..... Fast and Furious Dave.

Hey Jason.... The new drones are pretty easy to carry, that DJI Mavic looks awesome, and can be carried in a backpack, and has a line of sight range of 4-5 miles. The drone Im using is a Yuneek q500 , and has a 4k camera that moves, and has a range of 1-2 miles line of sight. If I spot something interesting on a hard to get to location, top of hill, ect.. they will be handy. I am also going to use it this summer while out fishing off the coast of San Diego looking for floating kelp patties, where the tuna love to hang out. I ran into a guy out in BFE out near Alamo, NV. while hunting for meteorites, and he was using a drone with a Thermal camera, hunting for caves on the side of some limestone cliffs.

Hey Lunk, So the gpz 7000 works good on Stewart? I tried the 5000 on it, but the soil was to mineralized, even dumbed way down.... I have found pounds of meteorites on Stewart over the years...nice pieces you found...

Congrats on the new detector, and finds Chris. That sure was a good day, and I think that patch has many more buried, need to get a small dozer out there :). I confirmed Chris's meteorite, by cutting a window into it, so congrats on the gold n meteorite. I've been nugget/ meteorite detecting with Minelabs since I first got a sd2200 back in 2003, and haven't come close to your skill and determination, It came natural to you...Sorry but here is a bad pic I made with phone of Chris's meteorite find, need to get one of those macro cameras for good close up pics...
