  4. HaHa nobody has mentioned the box yet... so did you get to use it? strick
  5. So when they pump that sand back in what are the odds of them pumping in some old Spanish treasure? There was that guy last year that got some on youtube...I remember reading where someone speculated he was hunting in a re nourished area? strick
  6. My little brother had a small cannon like that but it was mounted on a cart like a civil war cannon would be. It was a cute little thing I'm sure he still has it...I don't know where he got it but the story was someone blew their finger off with it. The big rivet is cool never found one of those. strick
  7. Mitchell keep that gas tank as low as possible. 👍 strick
  8. yep I love the trash as i separates the men from the boys lol...Hoping you get a gold ring out of that new spot... strick
  9. Very ornate silver ring.... nice job PI-Man strick
  10. Nice work 350 I knew once you got your first Rosevelt they would come rolling in after that lol. They do seem to be harder to find then other silver coins for some reason. I'm with Gary..I gave lots of bottles away because I thought I had no place to put them now I'm keeping what I find and wish I had the ones i gave away to one of my clients who's wife collects them. strick
  11. Ground Balance: It just seems to take forever to do manual ground balance and then I give up and stop...not going to sit there forever pumping the coil....people watching may think I have some serious issues. Whats up with that? MInelab seems to have it down to a science takes a few seconds and done with it. How can you trust a machine if you are unsure if it's ground balanced correctly? strick
  12. No way I'd pay that for a thin piece of plastic...Lately I have been trying "Buck Naked" at the beach in the soft sand as I'm annoyed of having to take off the coil cover and empty it out...this may not be appropriate for everyone. strick

    Likes Quota?

Thats lot I need to learn some self control... strick
  14. Nice first report. That upper limit is easy enough to adjust. I had it to 11 at one spot helped quite a bit still found lots of good targets and stopped the excessive falsing I was getting at that particular spot. Looking forward to more of your insight. strick
  15. Yowzers the rings look like a family tree. strick
  16. Nice report...better hurry up before they fill that lake back up! 😃 strick
  17. I have some fresh water beaches and swimming holes where there are 2-3 bottle caps to the scoop at times...This is a big deal for me. My CTX would disk them out OK but it was slow and the black sand killed the depth. I hated the way the 800 sounded and acted when running the f2 at high end which is what I had to do to make it kinda work. The Deus 2 I never really gave a chance (my fault) because I'm not fond of the antenna which turned brown after the first dunk and I don't like that style shaft for water hunting....I bought it for relic hunting anyways..The M-core seems to be doing a good job so far...I tested a bunch of gold rings and none of them read into the bottle cap reject area... strick
  18. Everything there has been washed up.. strick
  19. Thanks 350 That tree trunk is hard to describe how big it really is...it's hollow on the inside. And it landed perfectly up right? after my photo a guy and his wife stopped to take pictures with him standing on top of it. An interesting thing happened...I was detecting minding my own business and here comes this dude walking toward me with a concerned look carrying his detector (not swinging it) He wanted to talk. So I take off my head phones. He had brand new 800 said he was learning how to use it. I told him that I had one as well. He had zip lock bag with 3 pennies a quarter and a dime that he had found. I asked him where are your headphones as the waves are crashing..I did not bring them he says lol.. So I start going through the menu showing him how to use the functions and I set the detector up the way I would be using it....I could tell he was getting nervous at all the buttons I was pushing lol. I told him how to do a factory reset if he wanted. He thanked me and took off detecting...a few minutes later I find the gold pendant...hmmm..... About 30 minutes go by and here he comes again looking much happier this time...great now he's going to show me a big fat gold ring Im thinking...(he was hunting about 75 yards in front of me) I asked did you find something good? He says he just wanted to thank me again as he was leaving and he said "I don't know what you did to that machine but I was finding stuff left and right after you adjusted it" 😁 a few minutes later I find the nice silver woven mens wedding band...hmmm strick
  20. As mentioned it happens with the nox as well. It's and interesting thing maybe the target is sinking or the orientation is disturbed...I don't think there is a halo because stuff gets moved around on the beach...maybe some "beach expert" can educate us on how this happens... strick
  21. Edited: I did not use the pin point once on the beach...it's funny you ask the question because I've had the machine for over a month and dug many 100's of targets with it and cant remember exactly.....in the beginning I did use the pin point when turf hunting a lot but not much anymore.... from memory the hot spot seems to be just forward of the shaft a bit. strick
  22. You can auto ground balance any time you wish...this is also referred to a ground grab. You can do a ground grad while in tracking as well. How to tell if your detector is out of ground balance...just raise and lower the coil without pushing any of the ground balance buttons...if the machine is making weird sounds like a low/high or the opposite a high/low it’s out of balance. You should check your ground balance frequently..some places will be more frustrating then others as you try to keep the machine in balance. You can actually Hear more targets by lowering your sensitivity if your machine is making too much noise at higher settings. The goal is to have the machine running in a way that is comfortable to your hearing. Some people like to run their machine a little more chattery then others. The equinox is a noise machine to begin with but you should have it figured out soon enough. Test your machine at home by burring some targets to get more familiar with it. Strick
