Yep at least with the 800 I knew when I got a 13 it was either a nickel or an ax head 𤣠strick

Nice work Compass you earned all that stuff. More storms a coming. Strick

If Iām on a extended trip I will put stuff in zip locks and store it in the truck. Iām not nearly as organized as you fellas are... strick

This is I think what is confusing some of the early users. The signal you are talking about will usually give a higher pitched fainter tone pegged all the way to the max on the target trace as a very small dot. It will read 99. Coins will usually hit louder and with a bigger dot on the target trace...not all the way to the right as a tiny dot. Usually the the iron indicator will give some hint as you circle. Naturally I dug a few of these as well. Usually small piece of iron deep like you have found as well. Iāve not tried to block out the wrap around yet and like You I just take a pass and move on. Yea sounds like someone dropped the ball. Now you have two new machines to figure out lol...Iād be interested in which you end up using more after some time learning them. strick

Maybe a little sensitive to emi like the Nox...some may find the lower shaft a bit flimsy. Larger vid to have to memorize...Otherwise I love the machine. Itās a cherry picker in a park. Strick

The numbers will bounce around sometimes 2 or 3 digits if they are deeper. Shallower targets donāt bounce a lot. Itās more bouncy then the 800 for sure but itās got twice the vid range. The CTX is still king of stability...Deus 2 has good solid stability as well. Hope this helps...yes more bouncy then the 800.. Strick

D2 Fast Pulls Coins From My Pounded Site
strick replied to NCtoad's topic in Metal Detecting For Coins & Relics
Yep the fast program is the real deal...Iāve had it pull out 3 coins in a small area where a house burned down that I had previously been over with the Nox and 10x5 ...deus fast sniffed them right out. Strick -
Glad you got to actually hold and use one. Hard to tell by the picture but for a minute I thought you had found shoe horn or something. strick

Both great suggestions and I will add as well to get the carbon fiber handle.... once you go black you will never go back. strick

Ran out of likes hours ago but I must say that the Deus 1 in full tones really clicked with me...you could hear those deep squeakers that just got better as you dug...people are saying theres a problem with the full tones on the Deus 2 ? I haven't used it enough to find out they are talking bout... I must say the deus 2 fast program is really something else. edit: never mind I think I found it strick

I'm gonna time it with a stop clock š I swear I'm not exaggerating.... by much lol strick

Don't forget Deus sent Calabash a machine as well... just sayin but I do get your frustration on the wait. strick

Thanks GB I think I remember seeing those pictures now š Truth be told I'm really a beep and dig person and don't really have the patience to be fooling with settings all that much so would rather "Learn through Digging" so to speak...that being said the adjustments are there to help make our lives simpler and the menu system is fairly easy to understand so maybe I'll put more effort into this new machine. strick

Scouting With The Ws6 Master 2 - Crazy Day
strick replied to F350Platinum's topic in Metal Detecting For Coins & Relics
Relic heaven over there. I'm glad the weather is giving you decent shot..what great hobby isn't it? I mean half the fun sometimes is trying to find out what your found š nice work once again 350 strick -
I never said the tones suck...I said the menu sucks. And Iām sorry I struck a nerve Palzynski I was just trying to convey that the tones are not as pleasing to me as the minelabs are. But I am in agreement with you that the deus is great in the irons which is why I have had one in my tool box for the past 6 years...they are a wonderful work of French art. Iāll shut up now š

Sorry for the late reply. Monterey had some serious sand movement and I crashed as soon as I got back last night. The entire upper ferrous limit can be dropped down a couple clicks to reduce falsing...maybe 5 seconds is an exaggeration but not by much. But yea thatās what I was talking about not altering specific regions of the upper limit which would take a lot longer. The manual (which I truthfully havenāt finished reading yet) talks about dropping the whole line down to reduce falsing and opening up certain regions to accept ferrous coins. I have not seen anything yet about altering specific regions to reduce falsing of specific types of iron objects but maybe thatās in there. You can save your profiles if you like as well. Lowering the upper limit too much will miss targets . Iām still learning the language of the machine maybe 10-12 hunts on it. The stock programs in general modes seem to be what I prefer right now with a little tweaking if needed. I only had one target yesterday that I called iron which surprised me into being a coin. There were lots that I called āprobably ironā and ended up being so..but Iām not digging lots of iron like the rumors on YouTube would like everyone to believe. Strick

He does some of the best videos . I think the manticore user was using the stock Fe settings waiting on a reply back. Here is a quote from Jimmy in reply to one of the questions on the latest video about the Manticore missing a small piece of brass that Carter was able to sniff out. Quote: The piece of brass was so small it wouldnāt be a keeper for me. Iām going for coins and the manticore I believe finds more than the D2 if youāre hunting in a park. During this test I found 7 Indians to the D2ās two or three Indians. The D2 is more of a relic machine in my opinion as it picks up the smallest pieces and jewelry. I think the D2 excels in separation and not falsing with iron. "the falsing on iron" thing has been way over blown in my opinion. I'll bet he has kept the stock fe settings and not adjusted them which would take about 5 seconds to do. I don't know anything about the 900 as I don't have one so I'm commenting on the manticore only which I have found in my limited use to be a lovely machine that you will have to adjust for specific environments as you would with any other high end detector.

All Terrain General Vs All Terrain High Conductor
strick replied to fishersari's topic in Minelab Manticore Forum
All terrain low conductor would be more like a park 2 All terrain high conductor more like park 1 from my limited experience. strick -
You can get so spoiled swinging the XP..nothing feels as good. The Deus 1 was even better then the Deus 2 especially with the 5x10 coil it's like you are holding nothing in your arm...if someone has an arm or shoulder problem it's for sure the detector you want. But the tones....I was hopeful of the new square tones on the Deus 2...it was an improvement but still nothing like the minelabs... it's like going to a concert to hear Whitney Huston sing and going to a concert to hear Edith from "All In The Family" sing... strick

All Terrain General Vs All Terrain High Conductor
strick replied to fishersari's topic in Minelab Manticore Forum
The two modes are close when I have tried them in actual hunting conditions with the slight edge going to high conductor...it even works good on mid conductors. Strick -
The link on the First page still worked when I clicked on it just now. Minelab has for sometime now not included owners manuals in print theyāre only available online. That is how they save money. It is the way almost everybody is headed. In my neighborhood there was a huge printing facility just with one employer only....Microsoft. One day about 10 years or so ago Microsoft decided they were not printing manuals anymore...they were going to be online only. Now that big printing facility is an oversized small town police facility strick

First Nox 900 Gold *updated*
strick replied to Daniel Tn's topic in Metal Detector Advice & Comparisons
By default the equinox has the horse shoe mode off. You have to press the horse shoe button to engage it to the on position. Thatās when the black squares continue down into the negative so you can hear the iron and ground noise...there was a thred about this the other day I just canāt see why itās so confusing š looks like you got a target rich environment with hot ground and maybe iron trash as well although I donāt see any in your pic..one thing to not confuse is ground noise as iron trash false/grunts the # 2 modes such as field 2 in tracking will help quiet hot ground falsing the audio on the deus 1 and 2 has always been better suited for hunting in and around iron... strick -
Steve just remember long press (now I forgot which button) for volume š ...Like you Ive not been using it whole lot. I've come to use it only for relic sites with lots of nails much like my old trusty Deus 1 which I really should sell as I've not used it at all since getting the deus 2 The menu system sucks and I use it just enough to have to re learn it every time I use it..it is a very impressive machine however and I really should use it more but darn Minelab and their new turn outs....I'm like dog chasing my tail now. XP needs to make different shafts for their large coils.. strick
