  1. Rick I'm adding one of these to my side by side right now...I don't like worrying even though the only time I've ever got a dead battery was from it sitting and not on a tender. I also carry a small jump starter as well. https://www.dfna.info/product/utv-dual-battery-connect-monitor-kit/ strick
  2. That GPX runs nice and smooth Ive got that coil and am looking forward to trying it out soon...nice video strick
  3. Theres a gardening channel on you tube that I've subscribed to years ago..Usually has some good stuff..lately he's been doing ufo crap...It generates 10 times the hits 10 times faster that the gardening stuff does....I've unsubscribed to the channel. The Metal detecting New York city channel is not on my subscription list either. strick
  4. All terrain general is still all terrain general regardless of the disk being engaged or not....the targets will still appear in the same locations on the TT allowing you to still see bottle caps easily when in all metal and ignore them...if you get tired of all the noise when in all metal engage the disk and take your chances of missing a small gold chain. And he is just now finally impressed at how the M Core disks out bottle caps? Makes me wonder if he is even using the machine much.. strick
  5. Personally I'd like to see more women getting into the hobby... strick
  6. no problems...Ive heard of some people the bolt holding the coil comes loose but I have not touched the bolt in mine since installing it. if you are having problems with the shaft twisting just tighten the clamps... strick
  7. it working fine here I just created an account took all of 3 minutes to do so, you have to verify the account through your e mail as noted above it will say webmaster in your in box strick
  8. You can go crazy researching e bikes. Almost bought a fat tire but decided against it..weight of those bikes was the main reason. I said screw it and bought a Trek Rail 9.9 all carbon fiber and weighs 49 pounds..I can lift it over a fence or gate easily. Don't need any racks just a back pack and the Deus 2 with my gear in works really well. Some of the trails around where I live do not allow anything with a throttle on them and really the pedal assist takes off like a rocket. I've used it for getting to some relic spots but it's just fun to ride anywhere...My son threatens to steal it from me lol. Make sure you have all the tools if you get a flat esp out in the desert where thorns are everywhere. strick
  9. Killer buckle Brian I like anything with Navy on it. strick

  13. I did like his video...prolonged suffering?...maybe a tiny bit...you need to put the hours on the machine just as with any other. The 800 popped and farted on tiny objects just like the M-core does..neither were a beginners machine in my opinion. The graph on the M-core may be a little more confusing to those not used to using a detector such as the CTX. The one place where I wanted to use the M-core the most is one of the places where I have had the most annoyances with it. It's a fresh water beach loaded with black sand and bottle caps of all varieties. I'm thinking this will change when we get the small coil cuz sometimes there are multiple targets under the large coil. There has been some talk of wide range of TID's on the M-core...I think this has a lot to do with depth and high soil mineralization. Very deep targets over 10 inches mild soil inches like where @phrunt hunts are probably the reason. I can usually accurately predict targets in the parks that I hunt even though the numbers may vary 2-3 digits so I've not found that to be too much of a problem. I've not picked up a detector in a couple months due to other projects but will get back to it soon...there are two kinds of serious treasure hunters those that have a M-Core and those that are gonna get one...😊 strick
  14. Sliced salami? Danny prefers Porter house we know that... strick
  15. 1964 was the last year silver quarters were made. strick
  16. From the NF web site: ABS Housing Polycarbonate Shaft Mounts Polycarbonate Triple Sealed Cable Entry Point External Gore Breather CoreCell Foam Litz Wire Water Sealed to IP67 Standard 2 Year Warranty Minelab Approved CoreCell is the best and most expensive foam coring that I know of having bought this product many times myself I know how much it costs...its used in the boating and aircraft industries on high end builds...there are cheaper coring materials you could use but they choose to use the best. I asked the guy from Coiltek (Trevor I think) on this site what they specifically use for coring on their coils and he would not give me a direct answer. There is no substitute for quality. strick
  17. I remember someone asking me early on if I was able to differentiate a copper cent from dime with the M-Core and my answer was I did not think so they read bout the same usually in the high 70's to low 80's most of the time where I hunt. Zinc pennies will be in the 60's if they are good condition..I can see your frustration with such a large spread between copper cents and clad dimes. The only thing I don't like about my M-Core is.... I ONLY HAVE ONE COIL FOR IT MINELAB! strick
  18. I still have not got around to do in that good to know thanks for posting strick
  19. For @phrunt sorry for the delay.. Coiltek 10x5 GPX 6000 and Nugget Finder 12x7 GPX 6000 hope this helps. strick
  20. Rusted bottle caps... I find rusted bottle caps next to jewelry at the beach. Then there are the rare big storms those are different...fresh water salt water beaches it all is different strick
  21. Nice shooting dogodog thats a hefty ring is a nice bonus. Hope you did not forget the chicken feed...The wife has me building a chicken mansion that has kept me from detecting lately lol. strick
  22. Simon I have this coil sitting in my shop in plastic bag for a couple weeks now and I promise I will get some x rays of it and the little Coiltek this week... strick
  23. Gerry That was a fun trip... even snowed a little if I remember right. Lisa was very happy with that chevron nugget. We have not been to Rye patch for a long time. I remember looking at your trailer and thought this might just fit a side by side in it so I found one just like yours lol. We still have it and it makes trips to the Sierras now mostly. Thanks for bringing back some great memories. strick
  24. We could call it "The detector summit" strick
  25. Both of us using the same sized coils in a trashy park that neither of us had been to before..that would be fun.. but heres the clicker we hunt for gold only... everything else is considered junk... if neither of us finds gold then it's considered a draw and we both pay for our own lunch..now who buys a plane ticket you or me 😁 disclaimer I've not picked up a detector in about a month and a half so I'll need some practice and my watch may be off a little so don't get mad if I'm a little late. strick
