  1. We lived back east back in my younger days ...(army brat) any ways one evening during a storm lightning struck the tree in our back yard I happened to be looking out the window when it happened a few sparks and a small branch falling off the tree I’m feeling kinda ripped off seeing the picture now lol...I have been told they will explode by people that have seen it in person....we had a good lightning show this past fall up in the high sierras the 4 of us were there huddling under cover observing.... strick
  2. Or really good at photo shopping...I've never heard or seen of a camera that can see inside if trees unless that tree was split down the middle ?...just saying strick
  3. Nice work Denny and it’s good to not look too greedy to the detecting gods so I’m sure you will do well on the next hunt. Strick
  4. This ^^^^ When they ask what's the best thing you ever found thats the answer I give em. However I did have to throw one back to find the keeper... strick
  5. Don't sell it short on finding gold... it is a very capable of finding gold rings and other gold jewelry...yes a ctx in a lighter and faster model would sell well. strick
  6. Does it go away when you turn the sensitivity lower? Sounds like it’s just ground noise either way you could just ignore it and dig what you know are actual targets...beach deep audio is great....but I never heard what I would describe as a button pushing sound...also I like to hunt with my coil cover off on the beach for obvious reasons.. strick
  7. The plow disks also make great cowboy Woks...to whom it may concern....love mine picks are like watches hammers etc...personal preference...my apex picks have held up fine...yes the makers could easily add some new models and that would be great if they did make one with a bug butt for pulling out dirt for those deeper holes. strick
  8. The only reason I'm keep the pro right now is that I have a clean sweep coil that I really like...honestly I dont get to the big salt water beaches all that much...mostly hunt junk infested beaches here around the delta... strick
  9. M-Core on the beach is a no brainer...I found it to hit coins similar in depth to my tdi pro...may get rid of the tdi now..some people are still having problems with it in the dirt...they will figure it out eventually. Lots of adjustments user friendly screen..you get the big coil for it? I here they are trickling out... strick
  10. And here all i thought you did was look for gold nuggets in Idaho and ship wreck finds on the beach in Florida...liking the arrow heads I cant believe I've never found even one yet..thanks for posting. 🙂 strick
  11. Nice work I like how you modified the Allen wrench? Strick
  12. congrats on your first gold ring...go get em strick
  13. Yes @klunker got it from Rob if I'm not mistaken.. within the last couple months...I had wanted a black version as soon as I seen one but only grey was available and since I already have too many detectors and coils and no time to use them I've been sitting idle..apparently the coil is hard to come by for some reason...which is kinda strange... strick
  14. The black version is in the usa seen one myself and it worked awesome... strick
  15. Nice work thats a lot of targets...well earned rings. I have a place that produces a lot of lead weights but not nearly that much and most of them are several ounces.. strick
  16. Post the small one to me so I can X ray it...might be a while before you get it back 😄 strick
  17. Mostly for Pimps.... no offense Rick 🙂 nice ring! Heres a couple of man made ones.. strick
  18. You never know till you buy them and try them out....judging from how long it has taken Coiltek to come out with these accessory coils we are looking at what 3 years or more for multiple coil releases for the M-Core. strick
  19. Did a chat with a dealer somewhere in Europe early this morning...tried to order one but no bueno...cant ship to US...they are expecting their next shipment in next week so some places have got more then one shipment already but how many they are getting at a time I don't know...sounds like 3-4 which is what they advertised as in stock but then admitted they were out and taking orders for the next batch....what ever.... it will start raining soon and the ground will turn damp enough for some park hunting once again...hope to have one by then..sigh strick
  20. Wozer great hunt and great story...once and a while everything lines up just perfect but you got to keep at it all the time to have these epic hunts...The ring is a beauty Mitchell...Oh and the black velvet is a nice touch! strick
  21. Been to the gulf a couple times on vacation before I was into the hobby and we used to load up on those fossilized sharks teeth! strick
  22. some probably due to the program I was using all terrain general most of the time and these were air tests after the targets were dug. .....zinc pennies don't live too long in a salt water environment so I'd guess that the ones I'm digging in the dirt are a little more degraded...the dirt I hunt will bring the numbers down and you are hunting in clean sand there in the gulf? strick
  23. I agree its a head thing.... less numbers so perceived more stable...I've dug more twist off caps with the Nox 800 then I have with any other machine.....a lot of them will read 14-15 on one of the polluted beaches I hunt...the corroded ones ID will jump around a little but I still dig them because I've found some real big gold rings that were a 14-15 on the nox... I once met a guy on a clean pollution free beach... we were both using our ctx 3030's...he claimed that every 12.09 he dug was a gold ring... always. Well maybe in his world but not in my aluminum infested parks...I have still used the nox 800 but only because of the small coils..it would be cool if Minelab or whoever would make a 6" round for the M-Core...someday strick
