  1. What we all dream about...thanks for posting strick
  2. The Black box (made by Victor) http://www.victorpest.com/store/mole-and-gopher-control/b0625-3 is the best trap that I have found that you can buy locally at Home depot or Lowes. Even then it's hard to keep up with all the gophers on my measly little acre of land. You kill one and five come to the funeral... strick
  3. Them gophers aint welcome around these parts....
  4. Been a while since I've posted anything. It's been a busy spring and summer for me with work so I have only managed two day trips to the foot hills and two long weekend trips into the high sierras over the past several months. Then I decided I wanted to build a greenhouse because the rodents were getting into our vegetable garden. That ate up three weekends. Lisa and I are having fun meeting up with new friends in the middle of nowhere. All of you are members of this board. Our thanks for all your help and valuable tips... I even managed a quick 3 hour hunt with Deathray last week to a good relic spot. Some photos of our finds and some of the scenery. strick
  5. I'm a weekend warrior and so I don't get to use the 7k much. I am finally getting used to the sounds that it makes........but I still like my 2300 better for small gold. They are both excellent gold sniffing machines. strick
  6. You wernt kidding about those saddles....NIce work Scott! strick
  7. Add a couple more zeros..... strick
  8. You can only spoil them once. I for one should know better but still do. Kenny was right it was a long ride home. Three decent ones for the lady and one dink the size of a match head for me. Thanks for being a great guide Klunker! Here's one of the gold (note the one that resembles a dog) And a couple of the gold sniffing dog doing what he does best along with one of mama and her boy. strick
  9. I'll be different and just say Nice Buffalo Nickle Chris! keep up the informative posts which good for newbies like myself. strick
  10. Welcome to the site Ron. Nice write up and I like your personal web site as well. And a Big thanks for all the help out at Rye Patch. strick
  11. Both my wife's an my sdc are missing the pins as well. strick
  12. I'm gonna write that down on my 3x5 card and call it my "High Sierra settings". Too bad the Zed wont let you save settings like the CTX then you could just toggle back and forth between your saved settings. Hopefully heading to your neck of the woods in the next week or two. strick
  13. Words of Wisdom for sure. With every target there is hope. How much one chooses to dig depends upon how hopeful the individual is. Some targets sound more hopeful then others. My little terrier "Buddy" in my avatar is a digging machine. He helps to keep me motivated to move some dirt while we are out detecting. strick
  14. Nice going! I would have just dug the nugget and missed all that nice fine gold. strick
  15. Thats a nice nugget for a pit! Nice work Chris! strick
  16. From a few months ago my reply to Featherfishead on another forum. The ATX also does a high low and low high sounds for different types of targets and for my simple mind that was too complicated. I just want a detector to go beep when it finds something. http://www.treasurenet.com/forums/metal-detecting-gold/452912-want-hear-atx-users.html strick
  17. One of the hardest decisions we have to make. I do not envy you at this moment. You gave her a good life including her with you on your adventures. My little guy (the one in the avatar) goes to work with me every day. RIP Zoe strick
  18. That's a really good program and I use it 75% of the time Another one is called "Indians and Silver" if you have not downloaded it already. Link deleted since Findmall Forum update broke all old links strick
  19. Welcome to the forum. What took you so long Thanks for sharing.... that's some pretty gold. Keep posting. strick
  20. Twice now I've lost small nuggets in the pile using the GPZ. I've used the 2300 to find them. A small powerful pinpointer like you have described would work great. Or I could just dig bigger nuggets like Klunker told me . strick
  21. It's a great little detector for sure. Initially I was frustrated with the lack of ability to make accurate ID's on targets. And was thinking about selling her but have since changed my mind. She will lie to you when you first start dating her. But it does not take long to understand her ways and then you will get along fine with her. Accurate pin pointing. Good depth. Good iron disc (small iron) Really good on small round objects... buttons... coins. Just dig anything that hits well and see what it is. The CTX will give you more reasons not to dig. I have both. Had a fun little hunt with Deathray last weekend and left the CTX in the truck. strick
