Whites MX Sport Waterproof Metal Detector
tvanwho replied to Rick K - First Member's topic in White's Metal Detectors
I will let others be the guinea pigs , like with new cars and fixes, plus I still have a bad taste in my mouth from Garrett charging me $200 to fix their factory defects on my AT Pro....looks like 2016 will be an interesting year for new machines.... -
Whites MX Sport Waterproof Metal Detector

Steve, Can you tell us why gold jewelry in particular sounds just like aluminum trash, even to the MXSport ? They are entirely different metals, just seems like they should respond differently to a detector so as to disc out the aluminum? -Tom -

tvanwho replied to tvanwho's topic in Nokta / Makro Metal Detectors
Steve, just a Ford vs Chevy type field test between the Gold Racer and Fors + Gold when warmer weather is here -
Now if we could get a comparison between the Fors Gold Plus and the the Gold Racer? But maybe we should wait for the new Whites MX machine next month too? -Tom V.

I've hit a few gold rings totally by chance and then hit nothing but tabs and foil the rest of the day in school yards.Of course that was years ago and I was using my Tesoro Lobo ST with the 8 inch round coil, disc at 2. Might need to go back to that 20 year old machine.Found a number of gold pendants and gold chains including 2 Playboy Bunny pendants, 1 in a schoolyard playground and the other in a swim hole. The black sand mode really helped in the swim hole.It quiets down the noise but cuts the depth in half but it got me that gold pendant. Of course, the Lobo has no meter to watch, sound only.....sure wish Tesoro would update it with a nice meter and Ground Grab, etc...I tweaked mine for more coin depth using Keith Southerns tips. Its more chattery but I gained 4 inches on a quarter or half dollar air test.

This potion called Zanfel? at Walgreens helps my poison ivy. 35 bucks a tube tho. I got poisin ivy last year in the campground lawn apparently when nature called late at nite. Never had poison oak yet.Whats it look like vs normal oak tree leaves?

So, if most gold diggers are ignoring these trash sounding targets, there will be big pieces left yet for me to find with my 20 year old MXT? Sure is pretty, and how do you tell how much AU is in the rock?

Believe it or not, but I think I had 2 Bigfoot run ins already in the flatlands of Illinois, in heavy woods. Don't really want another . Both times I was out hunting gold or treasure and alone. I am packing bottle rockets for next adventure in the woods, whenever that might be, and a 50x zoom camera. I envy you guys and your gold patches .we don't have anything like that where I live. -Tom

I like your trailer and the gold. Can you tell us more about the trailer/camper? Can a small car pull it ,like my Subaru Forester? Whats it look like inside? -Tom, ps, you look so fit and trim in your member photo, ru saying that's not the real you? Pss, Menards sells these flat bungee cords and I was experimenting.I found the 30 inch long flat bungee holds my pants up better than a belt and far easier to take off vs them suspender things...

A pseudomorph? I thought that was a false fossil? Sometimes I see speckled patterns in rocks which look like some sort of fossil, only to be told it is a pseudomorph. So, what does a pyrite pseudomorph look like exactly? And why is placer gold so often associated with blue clay in creek bottoms? I understand the clay is decomposed shale? Except I thought shale was gray ,not blue?

Help Relocate A Snowbound Placer Miner
tvanwho replied to Underburden's topic in Detector Prospector Forum
Only 1 snowstorm in Chicago this year, temps in 30-60 range since early November, lots of rain, sure hope it stays like this. am sure we will pay for it in Jan/Feb tho...I kinda like global warming this winter anyway.... I like Arizona too but being as how I've spent 45 years in FLAT, Sea Level, NE Illinois now, I can't hardly breathe around Prescott or Rich Hill or Snowflake at elevations of 4-5000+ feet plus, something to keep in mind before moving there...plus they do have vicious dust storms, forest fires, and Valley Fever arround Phoenix. There is always a tradeoff, the good and the bad...at least we have plenty of water in NE Illinois, but no gold and no mountains to speak of . -Tom, need to find mountains, gold, warm weather, and under 2000 feet altitude, good water supplies, low cost of living and housing, where might that be? -
http://www.crutchfield.com/p_333BEBOPRB/Parrot-Bebop-Drone-Bundle-Red.html $750 dollar built in camera drone with 1 mile + range and you can dock it with a tablet or smartphone for flying as if you were in the drones pilot seat. My dream drone. Now ,if the price would just drop to the under $500 range.....since I need/have a use for a tablet pc now too Too bad the reviews are so poor tho, almost sounds like vaporware...big promises but poor delivery..and I hear the FAA now requires all drone pilots to get a license and max altitude of 400 feet...

Great Thread Root, was just thinking all night about Pocket Gold mines in Oregon. Didn't Bearcat say the deposit at Gold Hill in Oregon was a pocket gold mine? Wonder how they discovered it way back when? Not sure what a Knudsen Bowl is exactly? A industrial size motorized gold pan of sorts? Do you have some photos you could post of these various contact zone types to look for ? -

Research Methods In Icmj By Chris Ralph

I imagine Steve just commands the gold to jump outta the ground and into his pocket and it obeys him.I wonder what his magic words are? I don't think Open Sesame would quite do it...
