  1. Dear Valued Customers:

Today, we would like to make a very pleasing and important announcement which will have a significant impact on dealers, end users and the detector industry in general.

Nokta Detectors has been operating as an official Research & Development manufacturer since 2001 in Turkey. With the support of our valued customers, we have been growing at a very fast pace since our inception in the sector and today we export our products to more than 100 countries in 6 continents around the world.

2011 was a milestone year for us as we expanded our R&D team and made big investments in developing new detector technologies. Most of you have been following our fast growth and increasing brand awareness as a result of our products with rising sales graphics in the market. The very first factor behind our success is our technology and our strong engineering team and the second one is the fact that we listen to customers and develop products that meet the market demand.

As most of you are aware, there are 2 professional companies in Turkey serving and offering products to the detector industry: Nokta Detectors and Makro Detectors. In the past, these companies - whose owners are 2 brothers - have operated as independent manufacturers in the world market. In the midst of our growth in 2011, we made a strategic move and took the initial step in acquiring Makro Detectors who has been growing in parallel to Nokta. As a result of deliberations and under trade and confidentiality agreements, we bought some shares of Makro Detectors the same year. By combining our technology and expertise in the detector sector with Makro’s, we developed important projects. We developed and manufactured Golden Sense, Velox One, RS Pinpointer, Ultra Scanner hand-held detector and finally the FORS Gold and CoRe models under Nokta brand name and Deephunter, CF77 and finally the Makro Pointer, the first waterproof pinpointer in the world, under the Makro brand name. All were introduced and are presently sold in the market successfully. In addition, we developed a new Makro branded coin & relic detector called ‘’RACER’’ and a gold detector ‘’Gold RACER’’ which will enter the market very aggressively with its performance, design and price very soon!

Nokta Detectors’ developing and manufacturing the Makro branded products along with Nokta products and the fast increasing brand awareness of both brands in the world market opened the door for these two companies to unite their forces and after long deliberations, Nokta Detectors completely bought out Makro Detectors in December 2014.

Now, what does this important development mean for you and the sector and what will it bring in?

As a result of this acquisition, we have not only combined two strong brands but also a very experienced team in the specific detectors industry under the same roof. This will allow us to serve you with an absolute team spirit and in a much stronger position in terms of corporate structure as well as market share.

We will not only offer a richer product portfolio to our customers but address the whole market demand with products at different price levels. During all our processes from product concept to production, final control to delivery and after sales service, we will never sacrifice our praised customer oriented approach and service quality, which we have been implementing as Nokta and Makro since our foundation, and we will always aim for the better for our customers.

Our goal for the next few years is to dominate the detector sector with new products developed with unique technologies that will differentiate us and make us known not as a regular detector manufacturer but an exceptional company that exists with its technology. With the new products we are planning to launch between 2015-2017 (Pulse Induction detectors, new technology VLF and pulse imaging systems, hybrid VLF detectors, entry-level detectors, walk-thru security detectors, mine detectors etc.) and with your support, we wish to share the pride and happiness of achieving this goal all together.

As Nokta and Makro Detectors, we wish you a Merry Christmas & a Happy New Year and hope 2015 to be a very successful and prosperous year!

    Sincerely Yours,

    Nokta and Makro Detectors

  2. Hello all.. Dilek here (Sales & Marketing Manager) ...Thank you for the nice comments... as I have stated on a PM to one of the forum members this morning, I strongly believe that customer focus is where making better products starts. No manufacturer or product is perfect as we all make mistakes but listening to customers instead of making assumptions on what they need or will like is a key and this is what we are trying to accomplish. But then again demands are endless and believe me it is not as easy as it seems to incorporate it all into one machine especially if you are a manufacturer selling products to end users around the world with different needs. But we try our best as we believe that your feedbacks lead us in the right way to reach our company’s ultimate goal of 100% customer satisfaction with our products.

Regarding FORS - Now, some people do prefer it to be chest mount and some do not. We can make it chest mount but the problem is that the coil cable as well as the cable coming from the handle need to be much longer. Then these need to be tested again. In addition, we have to keep stock of 2 different versions of coils with different cable lengths. And when we add the small and the large coils to that, the burden is larger. So I really do not know if we can play around with FORS at this point but we will have new models coming out in the future geared towards different needs. Meanwhile feel free to give us your suggestions on what you want to see in a detector (mechanicals, design, electronics , functions, coils, price or whatever you can think of ). We love feedbacks!

Steve, as information on the new models are confidential at this point I cannot share them here on the forum but I can email you to give you some preliminary info to get your input if you wish.

    Thank you all!

  3. Hi Dilek & Gene,

It’s nice to see that Nokta and Kellyco are in the forums and backing up concerns of warranty service and knowing that those who purchase a Nokta MD have someone to contact in the event of service. Dilek I will be contacting you soon, life is beginning to get back to normal after my father’s passing and great news from my brother in his battle with cancer.  Keith

Keith hi... Dilek from Nokta. I know about your father's passing away but did not know about your brother. I wish him a very speedy recovery. Like I said a couple of times before, family comes first! Money, business etc etc mean nothing without our loved ones. Take care and talk to you soon.

Good points, Steve.  In my case I occasionally like to experiment and buy something a little bit new and different.  I like the small innovations such as the vibrating feature.  And, your review was pretty darn positive.   Also, I worked in Turkey on a geothermal power plant project a few years ago and really enjoyed Turkey and the hospitality I was shown so I have some level of bond or affinity with Turkey.  The immediate replies to my questions to the factory in Turkey helps a lot too.

And then there is this.  I don't like to buy fairly expensive items from a website by just pressing the "Add to Cart" button.  I like to talk to a human being, partly to personally confirm the item is actually in stock and will ship promptly and also to try some unskilled price negotiating - you  never know until you ask.   Deciding yesterday to buy a FORS Gold, I called Kellyco.  Got left on hold for an interminable amount of time, listening to the recording over and over and over of how important my call was to them and would be handled by the next available sales representative.

I will admit to having less than extreme patience when put on hold for long periods, this well having long  been poisoned by AT&T, the local power company and other unresponsive organizations.   I just don't like not having a choice of a local dealer, or any other dealers at all and I got tired of the endlessly repeated recording and hung up the phone.   As I recall, Minelab entered the US market with new products and even fairly new and different technology through a dealer network and I don't see why Nokta can't do the same.  So, I'm reconsidering my purchase. Probably just shooting myself in my own foot and I'm sure Nokta will somehow survive without me.  My apologies for adding a negative note to an otherwise very positive thread.

    - Bob

Bob, this is Dilek - Sales & Marketing Manager at Nokta. I also apologize for the inconvenience. Please contact Gene at Kellyco and he will be glad to assist you. Losing the sales in terms of money is not important for Nokta but losing a potential FORS user is!

Thanks Bob and please contact me should you need any more assistance.
