  1. If you have any issues updating your Legend, please read the troubleshooting guide below:

    TROUBLESHOOTING
    Windows
    1. Disable your antivirus program.
    2. Plug the device into a different USB port, if your computer has more than one, to see if the problem is specific to one port.
    3. The right drivers must be installed – Go to www.silabs.com/developers/usb-to-uart-bridge-vcp-drivers and install the driver according to your computer’s operating system.
    4. Type "Control Panel" into the Windows search bar and select Control Panel.
Go to Power Options > Change Plan Settings > Change advanced power settings.
Find USB Settings, then drill down to USB selective suspend setting.
Disable the options next to On battery and Plugged in, then click Apply.
You must then restart your PC to stop it from turning off the USB ports unnecessarily.
    MacOS
    4. In the Finder on your Mac, locate the app you want to open.
Don’t use Launchpad to do this. Launchpad doesn’t allow you to access the shortcut menu.
Control-click the app icon, then choose Open from the shortcut menu.
    Click Open.
The app is saved as an exception to your security settings, and you can open it in the future by double-clicking it just as you can any registered app.
Note: You can also grant an exception for a blocked app by clicking the Open Anyway button in the General pane of Security & Privacy preferences. This button is available for about an hour after you try to open the app.
To change these preferences on your Mac, choose Apple menu > System Preferences, click Security & Privacy , then click General.

  2. Hello all...
THIS QUESTION IS DIRECTED TO LEGEND USERS ONLY:

As we are working on the next update, please list the items you would like to be added / changed in the Legend (NO NEED TO MENTION IRON BIAS AS THAT IS ALREADY PART OF THE LIST). You can also list any accessory requests.

Once we gather this information, we will focus on those that are requested by the majority of users (not limited to this forum) and will try our best to give them to our valued users.

THANK YOU SO MUCH IN ADVANCE FOR YOUR CONTRIBUTION!

    Dilek,

If NM is able to come out with an inline pin pointer that uses the discrimination settings setup in the control until of the detector I will immediately buy 2 complete detector+pin pointer setups, as will many others.

Sunray used to produce that type of unit and was popular with Explorers and ETracs.

Can you expand on the inline part? You mean you attach the pinpointer to the device?

  4. Hello all.... copied all the posts in a word document and will go through them myself first and then share with the engineers.

    A few questions -

    1) IS GPS NECESSARY/BENEFICIAL ON A PI UNIT?

    2) IS COLOR SCREEN MORE PREFERRED? ADVANTAGES / DISADVANTAGES

    3) ARE YOU OK WITH AN EXTERNAL CABLE AROUND THE SHAFT?

    4) COILS - SIZES AND SHAPES (3 PLEASE)

    5) IS 10 FT WATERPROOF GOOD ENOUGH?

PS. Sorry if any of these were mentioned already in the posts.... did not read them all yet.

It's totally doable, and IMHO it would be a HUGE hit (not to mention an awesome competitive differentiator) 👍

Hello  all.... I am way too busy to go through each and every comment.

Can somebody summarize what is expected?

  7. Hi there....  I got an email from the poster of the video:

''I have deleted this video and have made this right with another video showing the tone break tips. And Calabash is deleting his video of my clips  too. I am getting away with the tone break at 9  and am having great results. I am sorry about the commotion. We are all learning with this machine and it is a powerful machine. Just a little adjustments to some settings will increase the odds at getting small gold with all machines. I can't wait for the 6" coil...it should be very fun. Keep smiling and cheers.''

    THANK YOU!!

OK NO ISSUES THANKS FOR SETTING US STRAIGHT ON THAT.

    Dear Abenson,

I have the most respect for all the members of this group and I am sorry if my post seemed like I was trying to set anybody straight.... was not the intent at all but it is getting very tiring to try correcting all this misinformation!

The machine is reacting the way it should to ID 11.

So when the machine is working perfectly fine, it is a bit upsetting to see people referring to it as an ''issue''.

It is all about learning the machine and reading the manual...

  9. HELLO ALL! THERE IS NO ISSUE!

PLEASE STOP MAKING INACCURATE COMMENTS/CONCLUSIONS ON THE LEGEND.                                                     1) READ THE MANUAL!! 2) IN THE VIDEO ABOVE:

    1) THERE IS NO BOTTLE CAP REJECTION ON THE MACHINE!

    2) PARK MODE IS DESIGNED FOR COIN AND JEWELRY HUNTING IN URBAN AREAS AND PARKS WHERE THERE ARE LOTS OF MODERN TRASH (ALUMINUM FOIL, PULL-TABS, BOTTLE CAPS ETC.) PRESENT. THIS MODE IS OPTIMIZED FOR MID TO LARGE COINS AND JEWELRY. THE DEFAULT DISCRIMINATION IS SET TO REJECT TARGET IDS UP TO AND INCLUDING 11 TO ELIMINATE IRON AS WELL AS ALUMINUM FOIL.
IF YOU SET THE TONE BREAK TO 10, THEN YOU WILL GET A NON-FERROUS TONE FOR THAT TARGET!!!

Hey Dilek!!  Do you ever sleep?  🙂

I'll do some bench testing to check out the new settings, and I'll ping you if I see anything that doesn't make sense. I'm looking forward to giving the Legend a workout!

I do sleep little...that's for sure:-) With all the time differences between the countries, sleeping more makes it hard for me to be  efficient.

    The Legend likes workouts:-)

I was one of the testers, we sent our test units back for a HW update in late December, and they sent a production unit back 👍

I'm planning a trip to the beach Sunday, will definitely do a beach video.

Hi there!!! As we have also incorporated a new setting for the beach, please ask me if you have any questions! Enjoy!

Steve is the best choice for a USA tester as he's done similar before, has the experience and know how, and knows what hes doing, as for Australia I would say JP but I'm not sure that's possible with his ties to Minelab.  There are so many good prospectors in Australia finding a lot of gold, the problem is it would need to be one that lives where the gold is, not someone that goes on prospecting trips once a year or something.

I know Steve is the best choice! But I don't know if he would want to, we will ask him anyways! Who knows, he may agree to it.

  13. If you ask our engineers today, they still do not want to include it. AND I am sorry to say this but among all the experienced detectorists I talk to, literally NONE use it. We wanted to roll the product and decide based on cutomers feedbacks because  Iffy was THE ONLY tester who insisted on it along with another one... all the rest (and we had 19 total) said not necessary.

We always go with what the majority wants.... now that the end users are pushing with messages and emails after yesterday's video, we will do it. For us, it is all about what the customers want.

This is getting interesting. Iffy made a not so flattering video and Dilek had to do damage control because of the optics. She is wrong about iron bias. The Equinox wasn't hitting the coins because of iron bias. Maybe the Legend's "fixed" iron filter needs to be tweaked or give an option to turn it off. Seems like the dime is getting masked. She says they can give you a setting where you could hit that dime.

Hi there....with all due respect, this is NOT about damage control. Our engineers have put thousands of hours into this detector and benchmark tests. And it is my job to give the accurate info and correct misinformation. If you watch his next video on a nailboard, you will understand.
