  1. If you ask our engineers today, they still do not want to include it. AND I am sorry to say this but among all the experienced detectorists I talk to, literally NONE use it. We wanted to roll the product and decide based on cutomers feedbacks because  Iffy was THE ONLY tester who insisted on it along with another one... all the rest (and we had 19 total) said not necessary.

We always go with what the majority wants.... now that the end users are pushing with messages and emails after yesterday's video, we will do it. For us, it is all about what the customers want.

  2. Hello all....

No need for all this speculation.

This is what we announced today:

    ''Dear Valued Members,

This is to confirm that, based on the amount of messages we got from end users after the live reveal yesterday asking for an Iron Bias setting, our engineers have started working on it already and we have decided to make the update available as soon as the engineers are done.
Customers will be able to easily update their units on PC or Mac platforms.

    THANK YOU!''

Now, just want to add something as Dilek Gonulay and not as a rep of Nokta Makro:

Honesty has been my number one value since I was a kid. My dad, who had almost no education but whom I looked up to and always felt proud of, one day said: ''You live this life with integrity, if you cannot live with integrity, you die with integrity!''

So even if the words are not typed in the whole discussion, implying that I was lying is not something I can simply ignore.

Whether it is my personal life or work, I try my best to be honest and transparent. If I will not say the truth, I do not talk, if I speak, you will hear facts. But I have come to a point to realize that no matter what I say, there are people out there who will always have a skeptical approach...maybe those people just have too much time on their hand and enjoy the whole drama…or some are having a hard time believing that there are still honest people out there in today’s world. Regardless of what their reasoning is, maybe interacting with end users so much and being so transparent is something I should re-consider for the future although I always feel like I owe it to those who do trust me & the company and appreciate it.

If you have any questions about the Legend, you can send me an email at dilek.gonulay@noktadetectors.com and I will gladly respond.

This is getting interesting. Iffy made a not so flattering video and Dilek had to do damage control because of the optics. She is wrong about iron bias. The Equinox wasn't hitting the coins because of iron bias. Maybe the Legend's "fixed" iron filter needs to be tweaked or give an option to turn it off. Seems like the dime is getting masked. She says they can give you a setting where you could hit that dime.

Hi there....with all due respect, this is NOT about damage control. Our engineers have put thousands of hours into this detector and benchmark tests. And it is my job to give the accurate info and correct misinformation. If you watch his next video on a nailboard, you will understand.

The name the Legend is very fitting in this case, according to the dictionary definition of the word Legend

"An old story that is widely believed but cannot be proved to be true"

It is as true as the Simplex+ that became the number one seller in many countries! I have gone thru so much criticism on the Simplex+ when it was first released as well... a year later, all who attacked the company/brand/product just went quiet so I am patiently waiting.

Thank you for your perspective, clearing that up and taking the time to reply to me Dilek,  I had never seen this information you've mentioned in your reply before as my only source for information on the naming contest was information from this forum, at the time I wasn't using any other form of social media to get updates from and the last update you gave on it was here and the Nokta website never gave any indication of time frames either, nor did it on the naming contest page.

This post above certainly gave me the impression the detector might be ready in 2020 or at the latest 2021 but I guess as there was no clear answer it was up to peoples imagination.  I guess my point has been the naming contest was perhaps a bit early.

This thread was my only source for information on this naming contest.

It's easy to see by reading that thread how one could assume the detector isn't too far off, it was never mentioned that it was years away.

Either way, I'm very glad that it is finally about to hit the market, and what a wonderful achievement for Nokta to cross the line with a detector that rivals or even exceeds the current market leader with the latest multi frequency technology, something many of the old established manufacturers couldn't achieve.  I can imagine it was even harder to achieve with the competition putting patents on their method so even if that method was also invented by Nokta with no knowledge of their methods prior to discovering it couldn't be used.

Fortunately my local dealer isn't the type to take peoples money without giving them a product, so his list is nothing more than a list of people interested.  I was once on that list, now I'm off the list because I've decided to wait and see which of the two new detectors if any coming to market to incorporate into my current fleet if any of them add something I don't have but need.

If you'd be so kind Dilek I have another question that's remained unanswered no matter how often I've asked it, is there anything on Nokta's end that has prevented Nel from making coils for the Simplex? I bought a Simplex largely due to Nel putting on their website they were making Simplex coils soon, it never happened so now it's a decoration in my cupboard.

My decision on a Legend is largely around if I Nel and possibly Detech would be making coils for it, and if Nokta has done something to make this difficult or impossible to happen like the competition has done to their detectors then this would be a problem for me unless of course Nokta make a version of the coil I'd most need for it which is a solid epoxy filled 6.5x3.5" elliptical, the Nel Snake.

I am also hoping you manage to get that Gold Prospecting PI to market that you've mentioned is in the pipeline here a few years ago.  My fingers have been crossed so long on that one they're starting to hurt 🙂

    Thank you!!

To answer your question, we are open to collaborating with any third party as long as it makes sense for both parties.

Detech approached us for making coils for the Simplex and we welcomed it and worked together on their coils.

Now, I know NEL announced coils for the Simplex+. However, they could not technically manufacture coils for the Simplex+ unless they bought certain parts from us. I personally sent them a message via the distributor and told them we were open to collaboration. Last thing I heard was they were going to get back to me with a proposal but they never did. I asked one last time and never got a response and I do not know the reason why... and this was back in January 2021.

PI - still in the works.... the project was pushed back a bit because of other projects taking the priority but it is back on full speed...will not even give you an estimate on the release date for the obvious reasons:-)

    THANK YOU!

One could argue Minelab was first to release the multi frequency detector in January 2018 so a delay of 6 months isn't that big of a deal when you consider the next to come to the party with one was what 3 years later with the Apex? and now Nokta about 4 years later after announcing it a couple of years ago with their naming contest?

My definition of right and yours are very different it seems.

Hello there.... wanted to chime in here because you keep on bringing the name contest we did a few years ago.

And I want members not to be misled with your comments.

Now, first off, when we first said we were going to work on an SMF device, we never said when it would be released and that it was just a  concept/project. We clearly referred to it as our FUTURE product. We held a naming contest of which the main purpose was to get people's input NOT on the name only BUT  the features and specs! Anybody who applied and filled the form back then can confirm that!

Second, R&D and engineering - if you are serious about it - may take years, if you didn't know.

The only time we mentioned a release date on this product was November 19th 2021 at the launch and even then I said we are ''hoping'' to start shipments in December. Now, we never asked any END-USER to go ahead and purchase this product as we do not sell to end-users directly. Some dealers take orders and make the customers pay, some do not. This is a decision made by distributors/dealers and the end-users. We do NOT get involved in that at all.

We as a manufacturer try our best to keep everybody informed and try to be as transparent as possible. And regardless of what people say, we will ship this product when all the updates are done as our priority is not to start making money earlier but to put the best unit possible in the customers' hands.

People put down a lot more money on a car or many other electronics and wait for months to get it and I seriously do not see any manufacturer caring about end users and talking to them directly to give an update. It is seriously very disappointing when we try our best to communicate and interact and at the end hear so much complaint.

Hope this clears it for the rest of the members who did not know about the background of this product and the naming contest.

    THANK YOU!

Not much of a description other than do you swing a detector... no info on benefits or purpose other than developing a mailing list of some sorts to sell their toys?

Hi there.... we have a NOMADS team, you can go on our website and see their names and locations. The program was NOT designed to collect email addresses to sell our new toys...we are not a start up company who needs that! The NOMADs  attend hunts on behalf of Nokta Makro and help cutomers on social media with their questions.

    Thank you!

  9. Hello everybody!! I apologize for not checking in earlier but a lot is going on here at Nokta Makro as you can imagine. Now regarding the SMF, we decided to make some major changes to the device after the first prototypes were produced including some features that I had mentioned in my earlier videos/interviews.  We believe that our valued customers will excuse us and understand that the changes are all for the good and that the delay is only due to our efforts for trying to make the device lighter and more user friendly for the customer.

In addition, I have no idea where the name Lightning is coming from but the name of the product is not Lightning and the name will be revealed at launch.

I will be doing a live video on our FB page soon to give an update to all customers around the world and answer some questions for those who will be watching.

Don't hold your breath, you might pass out. They keep posting items with no pricing or critical info. Almost like they are fishing for interest. I not sure about you but I would like to see the new multi before a shovel, hip holster, or head phones. I'm starting to wonder whats going on at Nokta. I think the accessory market is way overloaded with products and not sure why the marketing campaign is going in this direction. How about teasing the new multi?   Garrett Did.

Hello there. Just wanted to respond to some of your comments. I prefer not to post pricing because I do not want to be conveyed as I am trying to make a sale which is not my purpose of being on this forum. I just want to share information with the members. Sales is the dealers' job, not mine. The MSRPs of the HPs are $99 and $70.

Now, your second question: What's going on at Nokta? We are doing VERY well, thank you! We have been releasing accessories because we want to offer a full range of products to our customers. If they buy a detector from Nokta Makro, we should be able to at least offer them the accessories they need when they ask. A customer can use a different branded shovel and/or HPs of course if they prefer BUT as a manufacturer we should at least give them the option. I would prefer to see a customer with a Kruzer using our PP or shovel versus a competitor's. We are not trying to sell, we are trying to offer a full package for customers’ metal detecting needs. It is part of becoming a ‘’brand’’.

And your last comment:  ''How about teasing the new multi?   Garrett Did.'' I, as the Sales & Marketing Director of this company personally do not like to ''tease''. I try to share as much information as I can - honestly and openly. My competition may have a different approach. I would advise you to focus on results.

PS. SMF is in the testing stage.

    Thank you very much.

  12. Hello all! OK first off, as Steve said, we have already produced our first PI machine with the PulseDive.

We are working on other PI machines - for gold prospecting and beach/underwater hunting. These will NOT be released this year though.

Please understand that engineering, development and manufacturing is not as easy as it sounds (I have learned that myself after joining this company which has changed my whole view as a consumer). In addition, our priority of projects/products change based on market demand as we are a very consumer focused company.

Btw, our other business HAS NO affect on our projects and/or timelines for our detector business. Detectors is our core business and will stay like that. Quall (our other company) has their own engineering team and they are not even sharing the same building with us.

Hope this helps.... love you all!

  13. Hello all... there will be no 2.79 update for the Simplex. The publisher of the video has taken my video from last year where I was talking about the 2.78 update and for some reason named the video ‘’is 2.79 update coming soon’’ ?
We contacted the video's publisher and got the name changed as we got bombarded with questions from users.
Please do not believe anything you see on social media unless it is coming from me or my team.
Sorry for this confusion that we had no control over.

I know you’ve made videos at different times and it’s always a joy to hear and see what’s going on.
You may not know this but you can make a old hound dog happy by throwing him a bone now and then. It’s the same with us here on the forum in we too like not a bone but just a hint of what’s coming out the back door of Nokta:Makro in the way of that multi frequency detector.

I’ve lost track of the number of times that this subject matter has came up . That’s on the multi frequency detector that all would have been out by now. If nothing else can you say if it’s made its way in the field for hands on testing.

I’d say you know about the different detectors that has been said will be coming out here in 2021 . I have hopes we will see a new detector coming from your company .

Hope you can find the time to say Hi .
Just to let you know we miss your face.

     The Best!

     Chuck

🙂 Hello there! It is true that I cannot be on the forums as frequently as I used to be BUT I definitely did not abandon you guys! I am a pretty loyal person as a character. And I would never abandon people who have supported this company and brand. Please understand that I am just a human being myself and as the company has grown into a different level, so have my responsibilitites and my workload!

Now reagrding the SMF - we are going into the field testing stage. I do not want to promounce any launch dates as the field test results are a key. If all goes well, then we will not be too far from launching it.

The device will be in the Simplex housing (housing ONLY!) with a different coil and a carbon fiber shaft - it is NOT an SMF Simplex as some social media posts say. It is a totally different machine that is sharing the SIMPLEX housing. The rechargeable battery will be removable and user replaceable .

Is that good enough for now? 🙂

It’s unusual that we haven’t had a visit from you in a while. If like in the past you have been one busy lady.

I was in hopes we’d hear some good news from you on something new in the form a new detector.

Your company had so many great detectors coming out and now we were expecting more to come but that hasn’t been the case.

Hope all is well with you and yours.

     Chuck

Hello Chuck! I am around but as the company has been growing so much, so did my workload! I apologize for not checking in more frequently. And....we do have more to come, I promise.

YUP. Still waiting on your response. I'm thinking who ever is responsible for NM's IT dept. should be let go. But I'm assuming they have one. 24 hours is an acceptable time to respond, But not weeks. If You post new products on a forum and your website have the respect to issue a price point for the item. I'm pretty sure this will still go unanswered by a Nokta Makro customer service person. Just want a price how hard could it be???????

The MSRP is $79,95. We do not list prices for the accessories on the website. Only the detectors. Please stop making assumptions and message me with your email address and I will check whether we did get an email or not from you. Anybody who knows me long enough would vouch for me that I would have apologized to you already if in fact we got an email from you and never answered it. But this cannot happen at Nokta Makro. The maximum lead time would be 72 hours. Because I PERSONALLY see every email and check whether it is answered or not. Thank you!

Hello, I used the send inquiry tab at the bottom of the screen for the pin pointer holster. If that's not working you should let us know to use a specific email address. We do not have access to the address for the  representative that handles that. That being said, please don't tell me to use the info@noktadetectors.com address, Because you do not reply to that one either. If there is another address please inform us all. Thanks

Absolutely not true. I see all the emails coming through and make sure each is answered. Please message me with your email address and I will check whether we did get an email or not.
