Thank you for this post, I'll be picking this book up myself shortly.
Hello from Windsor, Clive!
Edit: purchased two copies today. Can't wait to delve in.

I would prefer that case myself, because I would like to be able to carry it on board and know that it's secure. They can lose my luggage but not my precioussssssss. :D
I'll keep looking for it or something similar. Thanks for the original post BTW.

Unfortunately, that case seems to be discontinued.
I found this on Amazon (Canada) though: https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B00E221A88/?coliid=I16KA5F4FTE40C&colid=16IESR6AFFMX6&psc=0&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it
I'm pretty sure it's too long to be considered a carry-on though...and I'm not sure I want to trust baggage handlers enough to check it. (getting the case crushed under a ton of other luggage).
Be great for the back of a vehicle though.

I'm John and I live in Windsor, ON.
I had just returned from a trip to Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. After poking around in some of the the many 1800's stone foundations found there, I became very interested in detecting again after lightly exploring it during my youth. Given the island's history and location, I'm sure that there is a wealth of undiscovered booty to be had there still.
I'm very glad to have found this site and it's wealth of good information. I eagerly look forward to learning all I can from everyone here.

This is great info.
Every summer I travel to Cape Breton, Nova Scotia and I know that there is literally hundreds of undiscovered homesteads and other undisturbed sites of interest there.
Damn, I wish summer wasn't over, I want to go back now and dig.
