  1. Had one but sold it because my modded gpx was finding what the sdc did only deeper with the Sadie coil. I mean it was good but never used it unfortunitly
  2. Yea hoping kiwijw sees the post I've talked to him abit both when I found the big nugget and before about zed when he was testing the xcoils.. Kinda what led me to want the zed
  3. Thanks yea thats what scares me the money involved so if I went zed I'd probley hold off for the nf coils that are aparently coming this year and just hope they make like a Sadie type coil for zed in that sub 10 inch
  4. Thanks for the reply.. Yes I agree its the sub 10 inch coil I've been hanging out for for the gpz. As for the cutting the lead that defanitly scares me with cost of coils etc so if probley try sorce someone to do it that knows what they are doing 😣
  5. Hi guys I'm back after laying low after my nugget find starting to get back into some detecting again.. Still been using my 24k vlf and no way I'd get rid of it its so good.. But I am in need to replace my gpx I sold.. And I can't decide whether to get a gpz and run the small xcoil soon as it's available to buy.. Or run with a gpx 5000 and get my trustie Sadie coil again.. Aparently my gpx I sold ended up with moisture damage on points but was fixed easy but with living on the wet west coast I'm thinking the gpz with its wetherproof housing might be better but the big coil isn't practical for alot what I do creeks bedrock etc but is for old tailings piles.. I was wondering maybe Steve or kiwijw might he able to awnser this how small will the gpz detect will it go as small as say sdc in low to mild ground And 2 is the depth over gpx noticeable on smaller gold Thanks Craig
  6. Hi I'm guessing by now you have made your choice I hint the exact same type of application you do and I used a modded gpx 4500 with the we 8x6 Sadie coil perfect for geting in tight places and I also run a vlf in the whites 24k gmt it's follow the pay streak comes in handy. I've used large coils on my gpx and found them useless in small creeks. The large rivers they can be used but you will miss lots because you just can't get them in the tight areas
  7. Yip exactly I've been detecting a lo g long time now there is a cross over tho I will say that you can have all the knowledge in the world and be the best detecter you can but if your using a machine that's out performed by something else you are limited to that Machine my main machine is gpx I just like tinkering I have the gm1000 and nox a well and now 24k I've found a lot of gold with the others so just wanting to put it threw its paces I guess
  8. It's not really a creek it's a old sluice fa e with exposed bedrock it does ha e somewhat of a creek after rain I guess but normally dry last time I went up there didn't get a spec... It's more I'm re overing from a broke. Foot so can't get out properly and that's handy and easy going well easyish ?.. Fully get what you mean tho and that is on the cards just go t have the monster of nox heteareat myfriends in Christchurch and his wife is due for a baby so he can't come over for few weeks.. Will still be good to see how it does it deffanitly has a depth advantage not by much tho. Will update my findings as I go The weather has been horrid here lost windows from hale lightning.. Good jet boats tho just don't fall out there was one fatality here last week from jet boat crash be safe
  9. HI gerry is there any info on its price range was hoping for new gold detecter from them... Bugger
  10. Here's a we video I just waked up hope gives you an idea I mean it's splitting hairs all 3 are good the monster might have edge on sand size bits but this will get them and this have a depth advantage soon as the we bits are fully detectable if that makes sense... Like kwjw said it's more access to them and if your like me a detector horder and want one to add to the pile I have lol but I like it and will be my main vlf I think but soon as the dam weather clears I'll get our and do real world hunting tests as that will be the proof will test it in a creek I've hammered with the gm1000 my gpx4500 and nox so if it pulls anything out I missed I'll be impressed
  11. I sure can I can whace up a video this morning and add it to hear... I totally get what your saying having the gm1000 and nox 2 of my favorite machines it's really like you say coming down to prefferance they are all good.. The monster is simple you know what your going to get the nox is super good at just about everything and the 24k is like a monster just with more tunability
  12. Sorry Steve yes of corse I acknowadge those.. I was just more meaning in terms of YouTube videos in real world situations. I guess because when minelab released the gm1000 there was a lot of reviews and videos coming out almost straight away I spent hours and hours combing YouTube and Google to try find reviews or videos but there was very very little was all I ment.. Those couple of threads were very helpful and part of the reason I chose to get one.. Am sorry for miss understanding
  13. Thanks gerry. Yes my self included was very surprised with it. I guess like myself I was reserved about buying on as there just isn't the videos out there or even online reviews.. And I think people get it in their heads that we'll I haven't herd anything so they must not be very good.. I'll deffanitly be putting up a lot of videos on my channel and this weekend I'm planning to get out in the hills see how it goes I have a few targets that I have diliberalty left in the ground in bedrock as I know they are gold but like to use them to test settings responses etc Really can't wait to get my hands on the 4x6 coil
  14. So my new Whites 24k arrived this morning finally after some issues with New Zealand post "before I begin I must give a big shout out to the guys at sneedens who are brokers for customs etc they made everything very simple for me... Right back to the detecter.. I wasn't sure what to expect as there is very little information out there bar the odd person and dealers pushing it. As I've owned many detectors over the years minelab grew on me as my favorite mainly because they were simply superior to the rest. Anyway I wiped up a unboxing video I then moved on to do some playing just with air tests and tho they are just that air tests I was pretty dam gobsmacked to say the least as it was pouring down out side icouldn't venture out to do some ground tests but from the air tests it's got the monster for depth The rain finally gave up this arvo so I grabed some gold ranging from non registering to 1.68 gm and in between. And set out for a spot close to me that was one of the big gold rush areas , now I'd taken the gm1000 here before and it was quite chatty in the upper sensitivity regions as the gm1000 is generally. Now once there I had a play with the 24k just with settings etc and to my surprise the ground there registered 90 on the ground balance to hot as hell was no wonder the gm1000 struggeled here but I was running the 24k max sens 10 vsat lowest it goes and the threshold was rock stable I was using locked ground balance and I do have to say that both the ground grab and xgb was incredibly quick to balance. No the ground is full of black sand so it did kill the depth on targets but not as much as I thought and I could still get the 0.00 non registering bit even with a layer ground on top . But I have already found a quirk with this machine that's a positive if you put it in xgb but run it with a negative ground balance of about - 2 for 30 seconds or so then lock it change it to positive 2 and then manual ground grab the machine goes as quiet as a church mouse with just the threshold hum no hot rock or ground feed back only targets make any noise.. But it hit every target clean and at good depth that 6 inch round is impressive but I can't wait for the 4x6 early next month... Now I also found the threshold as almost to stable for the sensitivity as I said I started on max and was stable as with bit of ground noise that I was able to get rid of as mentioned above. Now when I turned the sensitivity down to 7 I gained depth.. Lol yes gained I think on 10 it was geting over loaded by the black sand abit even tho my threshold was rock solid I gave up playing with my gold targets and went for we hunt knowing people use it for sighting in rifles there and I managed to pick out lead fragment one after the other as I went along.. Also worth noting there is Zero and I mean zero coil noise you can bash it scrape it knock it on things and not a peep... its going to be a learning curve to learn its qurkes but so far I have to say it beats the monster in just about every aspect apart from the monster being able to be custom made on broom stick or bush branch lol..
  15. Aw and yes I'll be getting the new 6x4 also for my bedrock hunting will be perfect I have a pre order in with the place I brought the detecter from in the states
  16. Thanks for your reply my 24k will be here tomorrow hopfuly so I'll be borrowing my mates gm1000 and nox 800 with 6 inch coil and try them head to head here in our nz soil.. I have a YouTube channel nugget hunter new Zealand all my videos will be up there with comparisons and real world tests... I really can't wait to see how it goes here. And like you I like the thought of a real threshold and and target noise id as I started out with gb2 for years and years you can't beat that zip zip noise.. Plus I want to try out the ground scan in some of the rivers here for highbanking slicing etc. Have you had a play with that mode any thoughts on it
  17. Aw wow how did you her hold of one ... I'd love to get one to try out .and yes sorry my phone has a wierd auto correct lol ... if they go as well as they have on the gpz I'll be a happy man more depth and sensitivity ... if you know who to contact to get one can you please PM me also do you know what size they offer for gpx
  18. So just spoke to the guy I get my minelab threw and aparently the new russian could that people are getting great results with on the gpz ane bow in process of testing some for the gpx so will be interesting to see how they go. X Coil 2021 News
  19. Havent needed to it will still hit a .07 in Dd same as my sadie coil but I do run it in mono when on bedrock as it's a very small chance of trash there .. .. my sadie is still my go to coil tho love that see you have one also the 8x6 nf
  20. As for gold I had more but sold mabe half .. it's mainly pulling flakes from bed rock with the vlf then cleaning out the cracks to get every spec when I find a bit adds up pretty quick
  21. Only just started using it .. I accturly put a comment on your post about nox and hot rocks with your gpx ? this coil went blow for blow woth my we sadie coil ..I was really surprised being a dd .. and beauty about it is I can run the iron descrim and rule out trash and hot rocks or use it to check for iron havent had it lie to me yet with a iron setting of 2 or 3 it's a very good coil down side it they arnt waterproof but I just siliconed up the plug and shes good as lol
  22. Thought I'd do we show and tell these are from summer 2018 mainly bedrock hunting in upper creek heads .. using my gpx4500 and goldmonster 1000 all the fines in the left container were from the monster apart from a couple that were gpx or nox800 the two in the centre are 1.7 and 1.6 grams still yet to break the 2 gram yet hopfuly this year .. I'll be pulling alot of you tube videos up if you want to follow my channel its nugget hunter new zealand ... I have a modded gpx4500 but I also modded the shaft to a 3 piece gold big 2 shaft it makes it very portable and easy to carry into hills
  23. Yea I was going to buy from oz but was going to be 1496 aud for the detecter with both coils then shipping then customs where I got it from us for 1096 nzd plus 156 nzd fir shipping via usps and be about 250ish for customs so worked out way cheaper
  24. Yea agree I loved the nox with the 6 inch coil the hot rocks normal hit same on vdi in a area then you can tell gold pretty easy with 1 to 16 vdi numbers bigger the bit higher the lower end numbers i could pretty much say what it was before digging when prospecting but will be good to see the whites ... dont be scared to buy from amazon or Ebay it's pretty straight foward these days
  25. ??yea these buggers would break ya foot... mines more like pick up 52 ... pick up 52 hot rocks so I can detect the area
