Also lookin for that elusive 4 pin cleansweep. Would go perfect on my Tejon. I know of one person who has one but have not been able to convince him to sell it....yet.

I could see spending $3500 - 4000 on a new beach machine if it outperformed the ctx. I dont detect expecting a complete return on investment though. Wouldnt happen within a reasonable time frame on the beaches around here. I detect because I enjoy it. Even with the ridiculous number of my machines I have in my collection, I still think its cheaper and more effective than conventional therapy.

Wow. Thats an excellent ring. Very nice.

You are exactly right Steve. Out of coil frustration for my CTX I just picked up a used ETrac and one of the first coils I purchased was the SunRay 8" round coil. I have no desire for this 9x14 for Turf hunting.

Same here. Acquired an etrac specifically to run the X8 coil.

Very intersting machine indeed. I read Toms full report/corespondence. The things that caught my attention were depth like f75 and stable target id. I had An f75 briefly but passed it off quickly. The machine i had was all over the place with target id. Be interesting to see how it does in trashy locations with mixed low conductors like foil, pull tabs, and bottle caps. Pricing appears relitively modest. I look forward to seeing your thoughts on the machine

I've been metal detecting a long time and I have not the slightest idea what is "2 factory rolls in the bag"
Perhaps the price includes a gift certificate to Cinnabon? I am guessing that it came from a site that is not in English and this may be something that didn't translate well.
google translate cut and paste.

Jewelry detector with a bigfoot style coil would be great. Expanded low end ID with ability to notch out the high end. And of course the ability to effectively ID/silence bottle caps without coil wigglin tricks. I also submitted a request to Makro regarding production of a bigfoot style coil which was "passed along" to the appropriate department. I tried really hard to like the V3i but there were just too many variables to contend with for me to find it enjoyable to use with such limited time. Loved the spectragraph. I have a Tejon I keep around in hopes of coming across a cleansweep for it but have not had much luck. Would pay retail for a used one at this point. I have seen many posts on just about every forum from people looking for a new bigfoot style coil to produced for just about any machine. I think/hope one of these manufacturers will get that "Eureka" moment soon and cash in on it. I would be first in line to buy one. I have done quite a bit of research on how to make VLF coils in hopes of one day being able to understand the concepts enough to produce my own for one of my machines. Unfortunately, not even close to being there yet and have yet to master even a decent PI coil. Even if the detector manufacturers don't pick up on the idea, it seems like Detech or Mars would have by now and put something out. The idea is there to cash in on. Instead it's relic machine after relic machine, over and over.

The new improved Compadre. Guessing they changed out the trimpot for a switch and regular resistors. Coil should be good though; Good size like the super 7. Ordered one this morning. Will test against a regular and modded compadre with a super 7 coil attached. I hope they juiced it up a bit. Hopefully this is foreshadowing more new releases in preparation for a new flagship. Seems like it would be easy for them to utilize the tejon platform, add tones with iron tone break, add notch, get rid of dual disc, bump the price up 200 bucks and call it done. Oh, and have the all black option for 30 bucks more.

Looking at the picture I would say keep doing what you are doing! The big bucks is in women's rings, and they tend to come in below nickel and down into foil.
CTX hotspot on our wet sand seems to be 12-09 to 12-12 for most of these.

I have passed over hundreds of zinc and dime targets with the CTX in the past couple of years since acquiring it. I only dig that range if they sound unusual. Found small amount of gold rings but....they are mostly on the small to average side. Wonder how many of those zincs were honkers. On the flipside, My hunting time is limited to about 20-40 minutes every weekday morning and most target I come across are zincs, bottle caps, and tabs; would I have found the rings I do have if I would have spent all that time diggin junk? Will have to do a dig all NF for the next couple weeks and see what surfaces.

I know what you mean. 2 jobs and 2-3 weeks off/on rain. Thankfully it doesn't snow here and not nearly as cold as you got it. Beaches are covered with rocks in wet zone and dry is slim pickins. Parks super saturated and leave muddy messes for holes unless poppin the shallows. Morning 1 hour before work hunt total was 2 nickels, 2 pennies, 2 pulltabs. Was the first time I got out in 2 weeks.

Well done. Very deserving.

Very interesting. The PI makin guys are gonna be all over this I reckon.

Very well thought out and written. I will definitely incorporate this into my methodology. Thank you

Thanks. Last time I saw that Zip Zip book the seller wanted 200 bucks. Seen it on Ebay a couple years ago and I think they wanted $250. Can't imagine paying that much for a book....but then again can't imagine paying 500 bucks for a coil either....but I did...twice.

Excellent. Now to find a place that actually buys them.

Good info. Thank you. Have yet to try an F5. I have read they are good on jewelry. Are you using the stock 10" concentric?

Thanks Mike.

That's awesome. Good for him. Sounds like a fun place to detect.

Very nice.

I will have to give the dfx/bigfoot another try. I dont have much experience with the dfx and the noises it makes in full tone kinda drove me crazy. Going to also try and pick up a gold racer as well if i ever come across a good deal on one.
Like New White's Bigfoot Coil Only $525!

Holy moly. That's pretty pricey. I reckon I will be getting rid of the rest of mine. Haven't used them in at least 2 years now.
