  1. Doc “The Documentor” that group above outfitted the Western States Metal Detectorist! May the 3 Wiseman continue their success in Life and Adventure. Rick
  2. I’ve had the pleasure of meeting countless fellow prospectors on my journeys! It’s always about the Hunt, Friendship & Camaraderie…Oh, and a new Patch that keep the Gold Fever alive. Back in 1979 in Arizona, I had an old timer give me a Pointy Finger to a spot on Lynx Creek, it put a smile on a 19 year old Green Horns face. I’m still repaying that Pointy Finger forward…it may not be the best spot, but I’ll guarantee there’s nuggets to find, that will put a smile on your face! Doc’s Photos above was a great hunt! I was digging through my photos looking for the Poke Pictures and couldn’t find them, must be in the I-Cloud or lost in the 2 ft of snow in my front yard 😂. But, I did find a couple photos of important prospecting gear of his a Hat and Gold Poke. Until the Next Hunt! Rick
  3. Doc, I remember that Outing! And that spot still gives up the nuggets. You’ve been a great Friend throughout the many years. I always have a few secret spots to share the thrill of the hunt! Rick & Robin
  4. Big or little…they all go in the Poke! Now, I have left tiny targets that I can’t fish out knowing that it’s Gold to find the next. The GB2 is an amazing VLF and Robin and I have been more than fortunate to have found a few places that you can sit down and just toss your scoop full of multi targets into a 5 Gallon Bucket to pan out later! Here is a photo of my GPX 4000 vs Robin using a GB2 for 2 1/2 days. Them little nuggets are important they fill in the spots between the big nuggets in your poke! Love them all Big or Small. 5. Congratulations! 🎊 New Wear House looks like a Store Front. Is that new Lift 4x4? I know a few vertical hydro pit walls I’d like to introduce it to! Rick
  6. Great Tale! Yet, I’m thinking I know that town.
  7. Doc’s Gadgets and Inventions are unparalleled in our Hobby! His genius has to keep him up at night and I’m sure he has Pen and Paper on his Nightstand to jot his foresight down. I’m happy Doc caught the incurable Gold Bug, I wouldn’t care much for living on Mars! 😂🇺🇸 LuckyLundy
  8. Steve, The best video content would be on the type of ground your Audience would swing for Nuggets on. As we know, different Countries face Metal Detecting Obstacles that another Country affects aren’t as severe. Australia Metal Detector settings differ from American Goldfield settings. What’s the best settings Nenad or Jonathan use in Australia soils are not optimal on my Nugget Grounds. I watch a lot the Prospecting videos on YouTube they beat re-runs of I Love Lucy!
  9. WTG! Loaded up on the loot. Your right that 10x5 is a fantastic gold getter, it’s stuck on my 6000. Rick
  10. I have a handful of them and use it on every detector I own, including the Monster after a couple hours swing it. Rick
  11. My Buddy LuckyLarry’s little 9x5 coil has been on Fire, since the No-Where Patch Story! We both swing this little guy on our 6000’s. It’s very sensitive and has fair depth, for Northern Nevada’s shallow placers. But, in open Country it’s like Paddling your Life Boat in the middle of the Ocean. This hunt we started hitting the old Horse Dung Ridge Patch. It’s a Mile long Ridge that I never swung the entire length only stopping at its first patch. Larry, has some legs I’m about to the end of Horse Dung Ridge I pulled my second nugget about 10 ft apart. I turned to signal Larry of the fast two nuggets and head my way. He wasn’t on the ridge hunting the left side as I last seen him. I dug up 4 more nuggets very fast and looked for him again. I just caught a glimpse of him swinging over another Ridge way out of voice range! Back to digging nuggets and it seems like the next thing I know someone’s voice scares the hell out of me. It’s Larry with a big smile on his face. He said, looks like you found a patch as I settled down from the scare of being lost mind and tuned into my detectors sound for the next nugget. Larry, said he thinks he found a patch too and produced some very nice Quartz with ample showing of Gold. We walked back to my Buggy leaving my little patch to hunt the newly named Big Specimen Nugget Patch! Upon arrival he showed me the shallow hole that all the pieces came out of and we set off grinding the area. We swung that Ridge for 1 1/2 days with little joy! We know and inch is a Mile in this Hobby and haven’t giving up on this depleted Quartz Vein. Larry’s Specific Gravity weigh in for these 3 pieces was over 45 dwts. Mine on the left received and honorable mention 😂 But, when Two Lucky’s are on the hunt, finding that Needle in the Haystack is possible! Until the Next Hunt LuckyLundy
  12. Steve, I’m thinking they have a Metal Detecting Video Game…it might just show up under your Christmas Tree this year 😂. I’m sure you earned a couple Nuggets being the Camp Cook. All kidding aside Speedy recovery. See ya soon! Rick
  13. Gerry, Great hunt and a great examples of the different Nugget types of the Regional Placers. This season I haven’t seen very many prospectors in the field. The Gold is still out there, besides knowing a few clues it boils down to getting your Coil over that Nugget. LuckyLundy
  14. Lunk, WTG! That 19” is like swinging a Boat Anchor after a few hours of use. But, my GPZ still earns its time on deeper nuggets that my GPX 6000 can’t hear. Rick
  15. Mitch, Her first photo…I like her big natural nugget ring, gives me a new goal Rick
  16. Some great finds and Smiles to match! Metal detecting/prospecting for Nuggets can be addictive as I’ve enjoyed my adventures since 1979. I had to run home last Friday and seen the Burn Barrel had a nice crowd and thought you may have had a class going on. Nice to see others enjoying our Hobby and putting in the time to learn the finer points of filling up their pokes. LuckyLundy
  17. “A couple of those first set of 4 pics look like Steve Wandt creations. Specifically the 2nd and 4th in geof_junk's post. He was a master at making gold rings. Also the one on Lucky's finger in his post may also be one from Steve.” Mike, when he was hunting with us he made a dozen or so for our group members, but you had to have found a 1 ounce Nugget. That was the 1 Ounce Club signature reward. You got to design it with your found nuggets and the gottier the better! Rick
  18. My Wife Robin, thanks everyone for your well wishes! Believe me, I’m the one you need to be worried about 😂👍 Rick
  19. If you’re not swinging a Coil in the Goldfields of Northern Nevada in the Month of October you’re missing the best ground conditions of the Year. My Wife Robin, broke her Ankle on Friday the 13th last Month. She finally got her leg into one of them Boots and has more mobility and told me to hit the Dusty Trails for a couple days. That’s all I needed as one of my hunting Buddies was heading out for a hunt as well. Driving on them gravel roads I could tell it rained since the last time I was out, but my truck was kicking up a cloud of dust you could see for miles. I met up with my Pard and loaded my RZR up and headed out to stretch my legs. We wanted to Patch hunt and looked for some dirt with some Colors we liked. We soon found a spot off the beaten path and spread out for the afternoon hunt. We both picked up a few before we headed back to camp. It was just enough sign of nuggets to hit it again in the morning. There was no signs of old dig holes which we wanted and the next morning we hit it again. We both hit a couple of spots that could bring more joy on a future hunt. But, we both had to head back home mid Afternoon. I worked on my disappearing Calluses on my hands from a couple weeks worth of washing dishes and look forward to more time on this new area to find its hidden bounty that we only got a sniff of. Until the next Hunt! LuckyLundy
