You all seen them Airless tires? Looks like when and if, they come out for vehicle use you'll have new rims and tires! That would be the perfect tire, no flat tires! You can Google it and there is some Videos on YouTube too.

Well it wasn't the best of weather this week in the Rye Patch area. One day it was very windy and all I could hear was these three nuggets! The next day was much better and all I found was dinks, what's up with that...lol. Headed home today to beat the rain called for Friday and ran into some May Snow Flakes at Donner Pass...love them new tires! Until the next hunt

Your trusty Mercedes must look sharp with them new tires! For a little bigger tires look into some bigger air bags to lift it up a bit. But those new 245/70's are just fine, GoodYear Wranglers are great tires!

Toyo Open Country A/T II, 10 Ply. Had to spend a few nuggets out of the poke, but the truck rides like a Caddy now! I had the new spare pair of boots from a LA Gear sale a year or more back...much cheaper than new shoes for the truck...lol

If your swinging a GPZ, a Bungie is a must! The stock Breast Plate on the Pro Swing 45 restricts my normal wide swing, so I use a Hip Stick...works great! Until the next hunt

Northern Nevada gravel roads will tell you when your trucks tires are getting to thin! My last trip there, I couldn't plug the thumb size hole and had to trust my old spare for the last couple of days of the hunt and to tow the camper back to NorCal. I also noticed my hunting boots were getting my socks awful dirty and a few little rocks would sneak in as well, as I would boot a possible target. Well we made it home and ready to make some new tracks in the goldfields. Hunt report, after that big storm in the Rye Patch area the ground was hot and stingy with letting go of the gold. But, no skunks in our party of 8...beer was cold at camp for soothing the looks of our pokes and Baby & I, have some new shoes! Until the next hunt,

I have read many forum thread concerns that one GPZ isn't equal to another GPZ! I personally have not seen this in the goldfields with our group of Detectorist. We comonly, call each other over to swing over a likely target for comparison and self training of each other on the GPZ. We hardly use the exact settings as each detectorist likes differ in some degree. The target sounds of the GPZ is the major learning curve for the deep targets. You've seen the GPZ chart with all the dots for size nuggets found at different depths. I understand, why they didn't list the found target that are off the chart...this detector will make you shake your head at the depth you'll dig a nugget. Again, not all patches will produce deep nuggets. But learn the new target sounds of this machine, it will surprise you! Until the next hunt

If you knew how much metal I have hanging on me when I'm detecting, you'd laugh! I tell people to extend their arms out or you might trip over your coil. 90% of my detecting I have a full metal pick (handle too) hanging off my hip, metal in my boots to boot! I'm not saying my setup is for everyone, but I know some fellows with the same rig I use and have no problem adding to their pokes. The GPZ, is a VERY sensitive detector and yes just like the GPX, I can hear my pick as I swing my coil to the left side where my pick is hanging. It's not near loud enough to drowned out a likable target or I would have switched to a wood handle picked years ago. Do I miss nuggets YES! So, having your lucky coin in your pocket is fine, detecting between the rails of a train track is bad. Until the next hunt

My last trip to Northern Nevada Goldfields, started off with a few nuggets at each place we hunted. My last day started off pretty good and at lunch we tossed them on the scale I had 4.82 dwts and only needed a dink to hit my goal of 1/4 ounce. Now late in the afternoon, I was the only survivor of my hunting party everyone else called it a hunt and headed home. I was lost in my thought as a truck pulled up next to mine and I noticed it was Lunk. He said, Rick your one Ridge from my patch, you'll get that dink there. Well feeling some what refreshed, we hit the Ridge. I found myself in the same rut as Lunk and his partner where adding to their pokes. The GPZ, is a very sensitive detector and I did find a micro dink. But not near enough to get me close to achieving my goal. The Sun was setting on top of the mountain and was starting to get the evening chill and I hated the thought of coming out in the morning just to find a dink before I headed home. Lunk and Partner, looked like they where about to load up and I walked over to say goodbye. Lunk, pointed to his patch and told me I left you one, go find it. As their truck crested the Ridge I had a sweet target which was gold and I added one more for good measure. Until the next hunt, thanks for the Rut Buster pointy finger, Lunk

Nice poke! I tell you my Wife Robin suffers from a bad back all the time and I'm missing two disc as well. I need to get back to Nevada, to many targets in my local that don't turn into nuggets. Digging in hard dirt, vs nice soft Northern Nevada is much better for our backs. You get back on your feet, we will be in your country at the end of this month!
