  1. Fred, WTG! I enjoy finding gold in the Dales, just wish it was a few hours closer to my starting point! Rick
  2. Ray, Hey way better than my skunk today, WTG! Rick
  3. Again, you can't run this machine wrong! Just turn the beast on and follow its dust. See ya in the goldfields, Rick
  4. You can't run this machine wrong! There are many setting members have posted, what they have found color with. I don't have a dialed in setting and have a small note pad full of settings that have added gold to my poke from NorCal to Northern Nevada. The GPZ, is like a Corvette! You can run it hard and fast or at normal cruise speed. I like both speeds depending if hunting old patches or new ground. Until the next hunt, Rick
  5. I try difficult like Jason mentioned! If that didn't work with Quick Track that Steve mentioned. Re ground balance with your coil on the ground and ease off Sensitivity. Rick
  6. Paul, I used that one time and it sent me to the other side of the Mall at Christmas time! Your Buddy, Rick
  7. Chuck, I just seen your post, WTG! If that was a hydro pit, I have a great setting...but them bullet still get in your way with it too...lol Rick
  8. Jason & Lunk, Your more than both right! The GPZ is truly a gold detectorist machine. The more you use it, the more you'll understand it. Take some hours off your learning curve with Jason's above post. Lunk, Jason...see ya in the goldfield soon. LuckyLundy
  9. That SDC, is a great machine! Get out and do it again. Rick
  10. Russ, Mighty fine display of some fun! Congrats and keep the finds coming...until the next hunt! LuckyLundy
  11. Lunk, Your on Fire! Keep that coil to the ground and post more gold. Talk soon, Rick
  12. Peteren, I was using High Yield/Difficult, Sens 14, Auto Smoothing Off, Auto GB. Rudy (top hand) was using General/Normal, Sens 9, Auto Smoothing Low, Fixed GB. Is there a wrong way to run the GPZ? No, it will find you nuggets in the Defualt Modes or experimenting with different setting! Until the next hunt Rick
  13. Fred, I haven't swung the GPZ there yet! But, I would have given Extra Deep a shot and if that didn't work High Yield/Sever. If that wouldn't do the trick, I hold the coil off the ground and inch or two like we did with the GPX's. I've been hunting in Fixed the last couple days and you wouldn't believe how good it is. The GPZ, will run noisy and as you gain more experience with you'll get use to its language...swing that coil slow. Good luck! Rick
  14. Gambler, I do offer guided hunts. My blindfolded hunt is very popular as I'm by your side all day! LuckyLundy
  15. I know enough has been said about the GPZ and its abilities to find nuggets missed by previous metal detectors! Today, we wanted to hit and old patch and glad we did. The GPZ, was amazing snagging nuggets in and old pounded patch, it nearly reminded me of the hey days! Needless, to say my hand lower one has only dinks and my partner had the hot coil for some quality nuggets. I might take tomorrow off, still recouping from my Rye Patch trip...but there's gold to dig! Until the next hunt LuckyLundy
  16. Rege, That green scoop is a foot long, but the target was on the tapered slope of the lip of the little wash. It was on bedrock, if I was good at figuring angles I'd guess 8" deep. Just a soft nugget tone at first, but digging down to the target it was getting louder and I couldn't wait to get it in my scoop...lol Rick
  17. Strick, I have a couple Buddies out at Rye Patch and invit d me to come back to hunt with them. But, I have a guest at my house with their new GPZ for some training in the morning. Toss them nuggets into your poke and think of your next hunt! Talk soon, Rick & Robin
  18. Well I know I wasn't the only person to swing a coil today on the forum! Here was my first Nugget of the day. Feel free to post your April Fool's Day finds on this thread if you'd like. Until the next hunt, LuckyLundy
  19. Chuck, Hey we had a great time with you and Lisa! I'm glad you found a handful of nuggets for your poke too. More beer is always good and thanks for helping me dig that nugget out when we met in the goldfield. If you can find me in the middle of the desert, your well on your way to finding a nice nugget! Post your nuggets on this thread is fine. Take care and talk soon, Rick & Robin
  20. Lunk, The more I experiment with the Audio setting of the GPZ the more I love it, it's and amazing machine. Thanks for sharing and to your continued success of filling every poke bottle in your truck! LuckyLundy
  21. Lunk, Get some new boots and hit the gold trail...you know as I do, there is always a new patch! A few skunk days and several foot miles will pay off. Rick
