my batteries last months, but I turn the unit off and on as needed. I don't leave it on all the time.

try craigslist for a more appropriate detector.

love him. ?
1. should I be swinging my coil that fast?
2. do all relic hunters dig such big holes?
3. is it possible he is on a dump site, hence the junk?
4. what were the signals he was bypassing?

join a club and go out on club outings. every prospector I've met shares info freely. that being said, I've yet to find gold with a detector, even in areas I've found gold using other methods. but any day out in the field is better then a day in the city. keep diggin.

I live in Texas but a friend had me to come and hunt with him in northeast Oklahoma. Because of high trash here and there I used the Sixshooter coil all the time. I say don’t leave home without it . It’s just one hot little coil and I last longer swinging it . It’s got good to great depth in just about any soil .
If you don’t have it the only question I have for you is why not ?
Chuck
hahaha, I'll start saving for it chuck.

I meant that in a nice way too. If you don't have your sluice dumping back into the river, I don't think anyone would bother you. I've done it right on 49 at a roadside claim several times. officials don't even slow down, they can see me from the road, and I see them.
