Chuck, I just wanted to report my ground number is 64. I don't really know how that might affect the mxs, but I thought you might be interested . -

that looks like mine but with a better handle. -
thanks for the cool pics, I'm going to show my little one.

I broke my digging tool, so I'm looking for ideas on what to replace it with. I know for prospecting you all use a pick. as do I, but that won't do for turf! this is what I've been using. works great turf.

post some pics, might be "relics"

well my back yard has a power pole and I'm detecting under wires, so I expect it affects performance. on the upside,I was out in the garage and just for the heck of it I put a tape measure on my digging tools scale and its short a quarter inch or more. (plus I broke the handle). so my depth report is a little short. send yours back again. -
you know after reading your story again, I think I worked at that gas station. any idea when it closed, or the brand of the station.

Hi chuck, I was in coin and jewelry mode. it does seem ok to me, I also tried high trash, and it works well, cuts down on all the junk sounding off. I'm going back out there this weekend and try some more stuff. I'll post when I do. good luck. -

well after 2 hours with it, I don't think I have tone smearing. it does have depth, found a copper cent at 7 inches, and there was a big nail right under it. so it seems that it there is trash in the hole or really close, I get a sort of short crackle sound next to the good sound. seems to work well, as an aside I'm having problems with my garret pinpointer, which is new too. and in my back yard I can't set either down to dig unless I turn them off because of the high trash scenario. -

my garret carrot interferes with the mx sport. however the carrot just died so I might be sending it back. only when on that is. -

interesting idea. have you ever tried taking every other riffle out, putting the thinest miners moss down then expanded metal? then the riffle bar. run the sluice as fast as you can, dont bother classifing at all, except for really big rocks. -

nice gold. what city do you stay in while at rye patch? is it all claimed up? or is there a public area for prospecting?
