  1. This web app can return 5 shipment arrivals free, it will ask for an email address. (Or buy the monthly subscription) Type the word Minelab in the search box at upper right to see the most recent 5 rows of data. It is not clear what type of detector is in each ‘shipment’ or even if one shipment is an entire conex. And yes, the last five had a date of 2/17 the five before that (now blurred out) were 2/10.

There is a lag time in the data reporting (it is free unless you buy a sub). The search report looks like this.

This report is shipments received in US port. Then they must have to be shipped to US distributers for shipment to dealers? Just guessing here.

That and little tiny bits of flat slaw or other metal no bigger than a round pin head in the first inch of sand. They keep falling through my shovel and I still can't find them even though it's only a handful of sand.

Those and some joker in one area loves to toss BBs out. If I am sure it was small enough to fall through the scoop holes, I just keep going. Once in a while, just for kicks, I keep looking until I find the tiny thing.

  3. Feb 1:…AFTER EMAILING MINELAB ‘CUSTOMER CARE’

“Minelab is receiving an unprecedented number of inquiries revolving around the MANTICORE and do apologize for the delay.

Minelab North America is receiving a limited number of product allocations from the factory to be distributed among our US and Canada Customers. We are trying our best to fairly distribute these allocations to everyone that has product on order, as we want to ensure product is distributed to our entire US and Canada Market, as best and as quickly as possible. Our Team is working on air-freighting any product available as soon as it comes off the production line. We will continue to air freight all available production allocated to the U.S. Market and will ship out all products allocated to all of our U.S. Customers.

  4. Short answer: Yes

    Why?

It is the new business model anytime technology is involved. Technology changes and moves so fast and there is usually a gap between what the IT and engineers feel is ‘right’ and what happens off the bench, in the real world.

Examples before Minelab are Apple iPhones and iPads, Tesla, new vehicles, certainly new RVs rely on the consumer to provide feedback and the end user sometimes report safety issues which initiate recalls. Even the Airbus has been updated as real world events ‘test’ the engineers best guess at real world use, sometimes with bad consequences.

  5. You are correct Steve, same. found this.

    FACTORY RESET
Make sure the headphones are turned Off.
Press the MFB 2 for approximately 10 seconds until there
are 2 beeps and the Status LED 4 flashes pink 2 times. Release the button.
The Status LED 4 will now be flashing red and blue, indicating that the headphones are in pairing mode.
All previously paired devices will be unpaired.

Thanks for the info. So the 360 look, this terminology is a bit new to me. So when you investigate a target, sometimes its better to move your coil in a circular motion instead of side to side? Can you explain?

You keep your swing and coil the same but rotate your body around the target to see if the ferrous vs non ferrous changes. Imagine a old fashioned clock, you sweep the target from 9 o’clock to 3 o’clock and back, get a mixed ferrous, non ferrous tone. Then take a side step and you are now sweeping about 8 to 2 as you circle keeping the target in the center.

You can take a step to the side then sweep, another step, etc. some just make a 90 degree sweep (9 to 3 then 12 to 6) from the first sweep where the target sounded off.

I take a short step then sweep. If it still sounds good maybe another step/sweep.

You've found a musket ball? Sure it wasn't a big ball bearing? Lol....

I know… but about two years ago there was such beach erosion around the old survivors/salvage/british camp ( could be one or all three, no ones completely sure) that a carpet of musket balls of various sizes, shapes, wired, cut and chewed were accessible. These were beach front and in the first shallow bar.

There were a bunch of west coast guys here and a ton of detectorists showed as word spread.

with work, I got there late to the party but some found dozens. Must have been a huge spill.

then the winds changed, the beaches filled and lights out.

since then, the state and county wizened up about dumping sand and they fill the beach from north to south, it all fills in and moves around but never all leaves. But it was fun while it lasted.

  8. Great trip, good haul and tips.

RE: Pinpointing, can you pinpoint with just the coil like I do with the 800? If so where is the ‘sweet spot’ on the coil to let you know you are over the target?

Or do you use the Manticore pinpoint function?

    Congrats and thanks

Ya'll "Old Country" people just love to yank our collective "New World" chains don't you?  I find a 100 year old wheat penny and I'm like "Heck Yeah, Baby!" 😅

Lol yeah us Florida boys get excited about a musket ball. So many place permissions are not just no but hell no!

But around Daytona has been pretty good after the hurricane. Saw a video just south of the Daytona pier pulling silvers out. Good hunting
