  1. Looks like River Park Campground area where I stayed for a couple of years....

We had one of the homeless guys try to rob my neighbor, i was in my camper and I heard a gunshot--- i grabbed my pistol and came out just in time to see two goons walking fast away from near the walkway.....my buddy George was standing there cool as a cucumber, talking to the police on his cell phone.

I went over and there was a guy laying on the ground moaning and groaning.. i did a quick check for weapons as i saw George give me the thumbs up... i kicked a 16 inch bowie knife (Harbor Freight) away from the guy and asked George what happened... he said the guy swiped him with the knife while he was bent over picking up some poop from his dog. Cut his arm a little,,,, George pulled out his J Frame S&W and had a laser on the guys forehead when he told him not to come back at him..... well he did, and George dropped the laser to his chest and fired.... thats what i had heard.

The guy wasnt blowing bloody foam and looked to me like he was doing way better than he should be,

but that's what happens when you bring a knife to a gunfight....

I loved that area on the Truckee but that element really made it difficult for families and such to use the park.

Steve H. even came over there and gave me some pointers one day and that was fun....

it was kinda funny because i was used to staying away from someone while we hunted---

you know... not get right on top of them.....

till I saw Steve motioning  me over ....and in his quiet manner said, "You know Paul, the reason I came over here was to give you a few pointers and maybe teach you a couple of tricks"... I cracked up because I was trying to uses some etiquette.... we had a good time..

    Good ring Michel

It is a rare year I don't see a snake, often more than one. In  Victoria's Golden Triangle it is the Eastern Brown snake that is most common. The Brown Snake family is responsible for the majority of deaths from snake bites in Australia. This species is known to have a 'bad attitude'.

I'll admit that my arse twitches like a rabbit's nose every time I encounter one.. staying calm after a strike would be a challenge. I always wear boots,  with snake gaiters during the warmer months.  In bad years the flies and ants have driven me off the goldfields before the snakes are fully active. Usually in summer  I switch to beach mode... Karelian

Yeah mate---- i think these would fit nicely over my thongs....🤣

  3.  There’s a YouTube channel that talks about snakebite management in Australia. I have a cool compression bandage it has a marking on it that looks like a rectangle and you only put it on tight enough to stretch it until that rectangle turned into a square. That’s pretty neat ,  as long as you’re not already  blinded by the venom. Maybe should practice put it on in the dark

  4. They call them body recovery systems in WA------ 12 hour average response time---- dont know that for sure ,,but thats what i heard while there...

i certainly doubt they would help much if you were  ever bit by a snake way out bush...

I read somewhere...maybe about a taipan...just sit down light a ciggy and relax, you wont have to worry about putting the cig out..

i believe more importantly that you know where your rig is- i lost mine this year and was only 100 yds from it.... but i dug out my phone and saw where i marked it on the map plus app... turned left and walked right to it...

i wasnt even off Trents claims yet !!!!

    Navigation.... number one mate

    bandage kit  2

    Radio contact number 3

    Have fun number A1---- lolol

  5. My rig was almost the same...especially the battle belt ...for using the hip stick with 7000... My harness was a simple h -harness...I tried the camelback water bladders and didn’t like the way my water tasted... and the camelback pack was too hot on my back...

But unless I’m using a big coil now in OZ with the 5000... I get by with a water in my pocket and a gray Minelab harness with the battery box on the center back

So much lighter and easy to shed when you have to dig one of those deep pesky lumps

  6. Well I’m back in the States

Down in Destin FL at Eglin Air Force Base

    Beautiful beaches and water

I’m not missing OZ yet, but as soon as Trent posts up some gold I’m sure I will relapse and my fever will be back again.

What a great experience every trip over has been. People are A one

  7. Anyone have any ideas why an SDC2300  may not be powering up??

We have used 2 different sets of batteries that work fine in another unit.

    Not much to troubleshoot except the batteries and off/on switch.        {{{SOLVED}}}}}}}

Was working fine when it was last used.

Hate to send it to Minelab---they may be tiring of me….. 😏
